We were very unhappy with our overall Uhaul experience. When we got to the original location we reserved through to pick up our truck we were told there was not one available. This could have been a disaster as we were on a tight moving schedule and expected our reservation to be honored. We were simply told that's just tough luck. Luckily after we left the lady I talked to on the phone was very helpful and sweet. We lucked out that the Vestavia Hills Uhaul had one truck left. To me this is an unacceptable rental plan if you are not guaranteed what you have reserved and when and where you reserved it for.

I rented a trailer near Memphis. I returned it to Vestavia Hills Alabama the next morning. I don't know which location is responsible for the screw-up. U-Haul sent me an email receipt after they unhooked the trailer (wrong customer, wrong equipment number). A few days later I get a phone call that the trailer was not returned. After that discussion I have now received an email saying the trailer was not returned. I just spoke to their recovery center and they admitted the trailer had been rented out since I returned it. But, they still want me to waste my valuable time on the phone on hold trying to figure out why and who is to blame for the mix up in rental unit identification numbers. These people are very unprofessional and U-Haul has lost my business forever.

I have an issue with the amount of extra miles I was charged for. When I picked up the truck at 1024 Montgomery Hwy, Vestavia Hills, AL on Thursday 9/15, I was sent a web link to complete information about the truck before it left the lot. On the wed link there was a section that showed the gas gauge level and mileage when I received the truck. The actual gas gauge was full verses half full as shown on the web link. I indicated the correct gas gauge level on the web link. The actual mileage did not match the web link also. I input the correct mileage on the web link and took a picture of it using the web link. When I hit the enter button on the web link the next page had a statement that said that the mileage could not be changed and to see the local representative. I showed the local representative the discrepancy with the actual mileage. She took a picture of the actual mileage on the truck with her cell phone and then went inside and did something on the computer. She informed me that she had updated the correct mileage on the contract and I was good to go. When I received the receipt today, I noticed the mileage from when I picked up truck in Vestavia, AL was not actually updated before I left the lot as the representative had informed me. While I don't mind paying for extra miles that I actually drove the truck, I should not have to pay for extra miles I did not drive the truck due to the actual mileage on the truck not being correct when I picked it up.

The vehicle did hesitate to start but after a few attempts, the engine turned over. I do not agree with your policy that the customer is responsible for paying the additional mileage rate when the vehicle pickup location is changed by uhaul after the vehicle is confirmed and booked. Since the pickup location changed. I was responsible for an additional $26 since the new pickup location was 13 miles away (each way) from the original pickup location.

Honestly for one of the few times ever we booked with Enterprise! The day of the move they called to say they didn't have the vehicle we scheduled! We had movers coming in hours! Guess who came through on an hours notice?! UHaul! Guess who we will always call now!!

I would not hesitant to recommend this location. Micheal was the gentleman who helped me check in at this very large and very busy location. I didn't even have to go inside to check out. Micheal used his phone app to check me in and he unhooked me and gone on my way inside of 15 - 20 minutes.

The checkin was great! Michael was awesome! Very helpful. I had a flat the morning after loaded my truck to go to my new place. The young lady with roadside was very helpful. I hate I didn't write down her name. I think it was Andrea. She gave me two hours extension due to the wait for the tire repair. When I returned the truck, they charged me for it. I called the store and they told me I needed to call on Monday to have the additional charge reversed. This is so inconvenience for me.

Customer Service was excellent and quick. The rentals should be thoroughly cleaned and or fumigated. Being short handed is understandable but, rentals that are not up to standards should be taken out of rotation until they can be cleaned like the need to be.

I was scheduled to pickup the equipment at a different location and as I was pulling in, I got a call to tell me that I had to go to a different location 20 minutes away. When I got there, I had to wait over 15 minutes to get the truck. In use, the air conditioning stopped blowing. Very dissatisfied with the experience.

I know it's a truck but the gas mileage was terrible. It took over a tank of fuel to go 270 miles. According to the calculations that vehicle only gets 9 miles to the gallon.

The van that I rented was very new. I got a nice cut 3 inches above my ankle entering the cab. When the seat is all the way back the metal piece that the seat slides on is exposed. It has a very sharp edge. I suggest you place a rubber piece over the end of the slide to prevent injury.

I have been treated poorly almost every time I have rented from this location. Yesterday I returned a cargo van and immediately upon reaching the counter, was on the receiving end of a young employee (Katy I'm told was her name) who clearly should NOT be dealing with customers. At one point, she turned and without saying another word to me, walked away to assist another customer. She literally turned and walked off. She did nothing else. Didn't finish checking me in, Nothing. She had questions about the original booking but no matter how I answered, it would not suffice. She just continued to berate me until she abruptly walked away. I always try to avoid this location for this very reason. However, my preferred location just down the street did not have the vehicle type I needed so I went to this location thinking I would give it another shot. I will not make that mistake again. If my preferred location does not have the vehicle I need, I will go elsewhere but it will not be at this location. The biggest thing that U-haul, as an organization can do to improve for the next customer is reiterate to their employees that (GOOD) customer service is of paramount importance. It's because the customer IS the customer that the employees at U-Haul have a job.

I will probably never rent from Uhaul ever again! We reserved a truck 6 weeks in advance of my son's move to Auburn. I checked a couple times and all was good. The day before pick up I got a text saying the location had moved about 30 minutes away. The morning of, it changed again to ever further away. 2 hours before pick up I got a text saying there were no trucks in the Birmingham area. I called and changed it to an enclosed trailer at our second choice location. We went to pick it up and the lady said that our first choice location doesn't even rent trucks so that would have never happened. Plus, August is very busy with college move ins so our reservation meant nothing. We saw a bunch of trucks in the parking lot but she told us none were ours even though we had rented weeks before. Then, all of a sudden she said that someone cancelled their truck so we were able to get one. If your reservation means nothing, what is the point of reserving. I can't leave it up to chance. Plus, I was on the phone for over 2 hours the day before pick up trying to get it straightened out. It was ridiculous. I would sit on hold, talk to someone, they would transfer me to a number that would change to a fax number because no one was available to speak to me. It was insane. Never again!

The Store was supposed to open at 9. No one showed until 9:45. I had movers scheduled, so now we are out double the money for movers because of how long it took for the person who showed at 9:45 to help us. Both employees who came took personal phone calls on their cell phones while assisting customers who had been waiting an hour for the store to open up. My first month of storage was supposed to be free per the promo and the employee charged me and then informed me there was nothing she could ro and I would have to come back next month if I got billed then. When we came back in after unloading to return the truck, an employee was sitting behind the desk on a stool sleeping. My husband got a picture of this. Unprofessional, untimely, rude.
