For some reason, the right tail light in the trailer wasn’t working. They tried new wiring, and checking the fuses in my vehicle. It took them s lot of time. I appreciate that. In the end, they couldn’t get it to work, so I rented a cargo van instead. The van was awesome, super clean. I’m still wondering, though, if the trailer just had a light bulb out.

Peter JPLEASE STOP having customers doing this check the vehicle online and take pictures. It took me and my friends sooooooo much extra time. One of my friends even commented that he had just rented a uhaul at a different location and the staff did it the old way (clip board snd employee) giving great service and how this way was horrible. I don’t want self service, I want service. The only reason I would return is because it is close to home but WE (three of us) HATED the load the picture and type it up yourself. Seemed like this is the lacy way out. Shame on you Uhaul.
Victoria LDave, a very professional and friendly technician did an awesome job on my 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. He installed a hitch with all electrical in about 2 hours. I can't praise this man enough for his outstanding job quality and professionalism. 5-star service! Highly recommended for everyone.
Jacek TI have been a customer of the U-Haul in Troy, MI (Store No. 754086) for 40 years. I have always had very good experiences with this store, but yesterday when I went to pick up my trailer (Contract No. 74502184), the young woman who checked me in (she said her name is Colleen) was verbally abusive and completely disrespectful to me. When I asked the young man who hooked up my trailer about her, he told me that she is always disrespectful to customers, especially in the early hours of the morning. When I returned my trailer in the late afternoon, a different young man helped me unload my trailer and he also confirmed that she was very difficult to work with, but she is also the assistant manager of the store, so her bad behavior is tolerated. He also told me that Colleen had put a note in the computer system saying that I was the cause of her bad behavior. If I was the owner of that store, I would fire Colleen. Both Colleen and the young man who helped me in the late afternoon told me that my conversation with Colleen was recorded on the security system. So the manager of that store should be able to very easily corroborate my encounter with her. BTW... but for the horrible attitude of Colleen, I would rate my experience with 5 stars. Both of the young men who helped me yesterday were pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. And the trailer was in very good condition and the store was clean and presentable. The only problem I had was Colleen, and in her absence, I would give the store a perfect score.

Michael KEmployees were scarce. I had an auto transport scheduled for pick up. When I walked in I saw an employee helping a customer. My initial thought was that he was the only person working the floor so I stood in line waiting by the registers. As I stood there waiting (approx 3+) minutes, there was an employee by at the checkout desk THE WHOLE TIME I was waiting. Numerous REAL TIME TV screens displayed in your face at the register yet none of them to alert your employee that they had a customer. This location called me the day after I placed & picked up my rental saying it wasn’t returned. It was returned. Spoke to a woman letting her know where it was left when it was dropped off. Told she would mark it checked in. 1.5 hours later THEY CALLED ME AT WORK. “Uhh I have someone over there right now. Can I place you on hold? I’m sorry it’s there. You’ll receive a receipt in your email.” I swear this was the worst idgaf bs attitude I’ve experienced with service. From the counter service all the way to check in. The guy that helped with hook up was great. Other than that this location is terrible.

MATTHEW SI had an urgent need for a pickup truck - I called and was able to rent one same day. Friendly staff and great customer service experience.
Diane SI had to pay over $100 out of pocket last time because YOUR location failed to provide a receipt. I am upset to see a cleaning fee when the truck was on paved roads the whole time. The unit was dirty when I got it and in poor condition. I expect to see this reversed or I will dispute the charges. The service is unacceptable- as someone who manages the highest rated hotel in Troy I know how to treat a customer and this is not the right way.

Julie SOverall just awesome, but one comment, when I got the Van the fuel tank was 3/4 full, so when I was filling up the tank before I return it back, it was so hard to fill it up at the same fuel level, which I had to fill it up completely, which means I paid more for gas.

Bob MTwo many oops and extra charges. Check lost caused a delay in payments and the payment reflects almost double the price each month I'm not paying for some else's storage. Movers did not show for load but unloaded me in 45 mins and was paid $175 to load and unload. I'm a person with a disability this cased me to have to rent an extra day and now my charges don't seem to reflect what I contracted for. Not a happy about this.

Thomas FGet rid of the new quick release hitches and fire the person who approved them. They say they are for a 2" ball but there must be at least 1/4" play. For a company who is supposed to be expert in trailering those hitches are an embarassment. Super noisy going down the road and violently trying to rip my class 3 hitch off of my vehicle.

Teresa H | Overall ExperienceI reserved a entry level unit but when I arrived was told they were out of them. Instead a received a semi- entry level unit which was a nightmare. It was very difficult getting larger items up the 5 steps, down the long, narrow hallway then around the tight corner to get to the unit. There was another door that slid open for easier access but it was always locked with a pad lock. I asked one of the workers if it could be opened and he told me no. The workers all appeared unhappy and annoyed. The lines were always long and took a long time. The parking lot was very small and difficult to navigate around in. I will definitely not use this facility again nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Ben M | First Impressions1-2 days after moving in, made sure I arrived at the facility before 10 PM, as that is the stated last access time. 8 moving boxes in my car, I punched my code at 9:42pm, get the access granted message, but the door does not open. On some level, I realize this is a nitpick but this severely blew up my plans. I do expect that if access times are being listed, times are based on IST, so all phones and computers can at least agree on when I can get in and when not. That said, aside from this, the experience has been good, but I do feel this should be addressed. 18 minutes might not seem like much, but since it directly affects consumers' planning and their perception of your brand, if feel leaving this unaddressed is a loss to you as a company. Please, if I have gotten something completely incorrect, feel free to reach out to me. I've been very happy with services regarding truck/trailer rental prior, and have always felt you have offered good service and good value for money. Everything else worked as stated. This experience specifically however was disappointing.

I was unable to amend the reservation online nor was allowed to make any changes over the phone. So my belongings were stored in L241 under my friend's name and I was not in agreement with that. If can make a reservation online with payment why not at least accommodate me over the phone? My ID is in your system from the truck rental or I could have sent a copy via email. I didn't want my things in another person's name. I visited the office today and Rob was able to take care of my needs to my satisfaction and he also confirmed that Larry initiated my refund from A103. I'm happy now. Thank you.

You’d think the hallways at a storage unit facility would be wide enough to ensure normal sized sofas can get in and out of units without struggle. Because of this, I had to drive my couch all the way to a family members house to store which in turn lead me to go over my total mileage allowed for the rental and cost me $56 extra dollars. Very disappointed in this uhaul experience.

It wasn't clear to me from the ad and I was quite surprised and disappointed to find that there were a few stairs to go up. I wrote an email to the manager explaining why I was upset and that it had really inconvenienced me, as I had not planned for moving things up a set of stairs. He was very understanding and immediately helped to fix the problem. Each time I visited the employees were nice and they were very helpful.

We used them and when we removed our items we left the pallets as we found them. I received a call from Alex telling me it wasn’t his job to be my trash remover due to us leaving the pallets. I explained the situation to Alex. He wasn’t happy and didn’t seem to believe me. I had no reason to lie. We made our payments on time, cleaned out the unit and had nothing but good interactions with the staff previous to this phone call.

For ending rental, I had to go into office because website was unclear if request to end rental had been made for both units or only one. - Checking out van, through website and in office, was fairly easy. One suggestion: allow condition photos to be uploaded from Gallery, as is allowed for storage unit. - Alarms in storage unit facility went off frequently despite seemingly no one coming in/out, leaving a door open, and us being checked into unit. Annoying, and not effective as I never saw anyone from uhaul respond as if there were an actual problem.

Bobby L | Overall ExperienceI can not express enough my disappointment in Uhaul. You failed at every level. I called to make a reservation at your customer service number. I was looking to store outdoor furniture that includes 126” table. After discussing this with you advisor I was advised a 10 by 15’ unit was best. I also ordered a 26’ truck. The reservation was made weeks in advance. I consequently made plans for friends to help load out truck on move day. When I showed up Saturday I was given three adjacent, but separate 5 by 10’ units. I told the GM this would not fit the table that I had discussed with the Uhaul agent at the time of reservation. The store GM told me that I did not reserve a 10 by 15 room, rather 10 by 15 in space and he did not have a 10 by 15 room. When I described the call. He told me he had nothing, customer Service agents don’t know what they are talking about. He also told me that how could he be sure I even told the agent I had a long table. I hope you have video with audio of my in person experience. It was awful. I won’t write all of the remaining failures other that to say It took four later calls over two hours to customer service to finally learn Uhaul could not help me and instead screwed me over. The first two calls were with helpful people that put my on hold. BOTH agents in an effort to help had to place me back on hold. When they did BOTH resulted in me being put back into the Uhaul call service que to get to start over with a new person. The third person was helpful but was unable to find a first floor separate location and sent me to customer service. At customer service I was told the substitute unit given by the GM was actually a split level unit and too short for my table. I was now told Uhaul could not find a unit anywhere within 30 minutes. At this point our friends who were helping load the truck had to leave. It was a sunny Saturday when we would have finished. I had to find another facility and find people to help me Sunday. It snowed on Sunday. To top off the fun, when on Sunday I returned the truck it turns out the 14 foot substitute unit was actually 14 and the customer service person who said it wa a half that size was wrong This is who failed. The GM at Troy, MI on many levels. The person who built the customer service system that threw me back in que. Management that did not give the person any authority. The customer service person at the end, while nice, she gave bad information on the size of the unit. Mostly Uhaul upper management for leading a horrible company. By contrast I ended up renting at Public Storage. When I called them I had no wait time. They were helpful, organized and professional. On m aside about Uhauls culture is the Please Note comments below. The comments are the opposite of customer service. They set rules. Why ask for feedback and then direct orders. Terrible.

This was at your Troy Michigan office. Also, I reserved a trailer 5 days in advance but then it was not honored and had to travel to another city to get a much smaller one. This created a major headache for moving. I will go somewhere else for my future needs.
