My rental unit was not checked in when I returned it as I was told. I received text messages it was still out and needed to be returned. I had to make calls to the facility and 800 number to have this corrected. The receipt that was finally emailed still shows an incorrect time and date for the return.

There was some type of grape juice in the cup holder; I did not see it, but when I stuck my water bottle in the cup holder it can out with the syrup/sticky mess. The truck had 3/8 of a tank; which was inconvenient because I had to fill it up before I got on the highway, and then again at the end of the trip. Nice weather - no problem; but the cold, rainy weather made this another annoyance. I was disappointed in so little gas.

Stood in line for quite a while behind just one other customer who was already in the process of checking out when I walked in. Was asked if I “still wanted” the $14 insurance, which I had selected “none” when I signed up online. Was asked “And you’re bringing it back tomorrow?” When I had signed up for a just few hours of use online. Just unsure if things signed up for online don’t always save the same way when going check out in store or if communication is missed. Overall good experience, friendly employees, easy transaction. The original truck rented to me would not go over 40 mph. I brought it back and obtained a second truck. The second truck mechanically was better, a bad smell in it and the steering wheel was sticky. When I got home, I cleaned the steering wheel and cleaned the vinyl seats with 409, that helped the odor. The windshield washer reserve was empty in the vehicle and I had to put a little water in it to clean the window. This location could do a better job of cleaning the truck's cab and they should check the fluids between renters.

My only concern was communication while I waited for my boxes which arrived 10 days late. I was constantly calling and being transferred from one agency to another only to get no answer as to the whereabouts of my boxes. In one call an agent told me my stuff was in Eugene Oregon even though the day before I was told they were in Wyoming. These boxes were supposed to be in Lynchburg Virginia by December 30, They arrived Jan 10. Glad to be sleeping in my bed again. Improve communication customers should feel at ease that everything is under control.

I rented a box truck and it was nasty inside then left it was pouring rain I was on deadline and the wiper blade flew off stopped waiting for rain to let up and no luck had to wrap my shirt around wiper arm so it didn't scratch windshield and made me late and go out of my way only to be charged extra for miles I shouldn't have driven to try to get around rain never again

The location & facilities are top rate, but the customer service always is lacking. The agent spoke way too fast, as if he was running a con. He also did not get out of his chair to make sure we had the supplies we had ordered/paid for. We had to call back at the time of loading to get a refund on blankets which we weren't given; the manager was very apologetic and issued a prompt refund, but that's not the point. Once the movers arrived, there was no time to go back and pick up the necessary supplies. We had damage due to not having the proper blanket coverage during our move. Will not be using this location again. The smaller locations in the area give better customer service.

I wasn't disappointed in this location but I was disappointed in UHaul overall and will consider other options inthe future. First, I wanted a 10' truck (or cargo van) one way. Nothing available. I then went with a 15' truck one way I was then called by UHaul/Richmond and was told there was a 15' in amherst (about 30 mins NORTH of me) which was out of my way. She then offered a 20' truck at 15' price at local dealer. We arrived at 9am per my reservation. Nobody there. Hrs indicated they opened at 10:30!!!! I called their emergency number and the woman said "well, nobody told me." I called the Richmond number back and asked what options were available. She wanted me to drive to Bedford to get one-way 15' truck and offered 50 free miles. Would have delayed me by an hour. Asked for 15' local move truck for one-way price. Nope - wouldn't do that. Finally discounted it to 10' truck price with reduced mileage rate. Still ended up costing me about $50-$60 more than expected so UHaul will not be my 1st choice if a rental truck is needed in the future. VERY Disappointed.

I'm not looking to find fault with anyone, rather I am seeking the best possible avenue for positive input to be recognized. Are you the correct person to provide this information to? Thank you in advance, Bill Sent this 7 days ago and NO response! I realise this was sent to an individual, but someone should have responded, don't you agree? For this reason, I doubt seriously that any praise or criticism I provide will be taken seriously. Too bad, U-Haul, I've been in the customer service business for more than 30 years and could give you some helpful feedback if you'd allow it. My above rating is based solely on the customer service I received from your Lynchburg location. Dustin Chappell, Ben Snedegar and Ben (location manager whose last name I did not get) are truly setting the bar for U-Haul customer service. They should be recognized for their performance! I will be using this location again whenever I need storage or moving services and I will be telling my friends and family about my experiences with U-Haul

Picked up car dolly in Farmville VA was told I could drop off at any uhaul location at my destination in Lynchburg va. When I arrived at Lynchburg, they would not accept the car dolly and advise it had to go back to where I live in Victoria va. There are no uhaul dealers in Victoria. After much discussion and wasted time, the person in Lynchburg made a phone call and I was able to leave the dolly there. Not sure who is responsible for this mix up, but I will be hesitant to use uhaul again.

On Dec 3rd I rented a trailer with a ramp. I returned it the same day. Dustin was the associate who helped me. The next day I saw I was charged an additional 72.48. When I called about it on Dec 4 I was assured it would be corrected. Apparently the returned trailer was not noted by the associate. That same day an additional 108.73 was charged to my card . When I called customer service I was told they couldn’t do anything - the charges would drop off in time. I am an employee of the Bank that issued the card and am required to maintain a clean status of my accounts with the bank. Failure to do so may result in termination Due to the combined hold of Close to 200.00 by uhauls error I incurred an overdraft fee of 36.00 on my debit card. At a minimum I should receive an apology and the overdraft fee

The truck need to be better maintenance.. the driver door doesn’t unlocked so you have to climb threw the Passenger door to unlock the truck.. I’ve have been renting a lot of trucks from here because of work and this isn’t the first time and I would think that should be a issue that needs to get addressed in all the trucks.. when we pick up the truck they just hand you the keys and tell you to go find your truck instead of walking you out to help you get your truck to make sure nothing is wrong with it.. to me I think that lazy.. thought they was suppose to walk you out and make sure your truck was ok.. as I was taking the truck back check gauge light came on!!

The vehicle I rented had significant accident damage prior to me renting it, the worst part of which was the passenger door. So bad was it that the door would not seal it even close properly. This resulted in horrific and unbearable noise at highway speeds and water ingress into the cab after rain.

I was overcharged for fuel. I drove 20 miles and put 4.2 gallons of fuel in it at a station next to UHaul. When I received this final bill I had been charged an additional $15 for fuel. I was charged for blankets I never opened also. I worked with U Haul many years ago when customers were treated much better and with integrity

A)The turn-in process was difficult. I pulled the truck under the port, the sign said to remain there and stay in the vehicle. No one came. I called the Lynchburg number - no answer; the call got routed to the national reservation line, After 3 menus of choices (that said nothing close to my problem) someone answered. She then called the local UHAUL, but I got no return. I finally walked into customer service and got the attention of someone in the next room. B) No light in the truck container made nighttime unloading Difficult.

There was no power at the location, had to go to another location which put me out of the way for gas usage and mileage. At the second location the system would not process my debit card due to “heavy traffic”. And when asked would I receive a portion of my transaction back, the agent replied “ there nothing I can do”. I always thought the trucks/rental were no smoking but I maybe wrong. the only comment I have to to possibly check the ashtrays in the rentals. There was a joint in my ashtray and anything could have happened. I was moving to a town I've never been before and the slightest thing nowadays could have gotten me pulled over. I seriously could have gotten in trouble with the law and the military. Other than that my experience with U haul has always been a pleasant one.

This location has about everything you could possibly need to move. I rented a 10 foot box truck about 4 hours before I actually wanted to pick it up. Upon arriving, I was told there were no more 10 foot trucks, however my reservation indicated everything was ok. It took about 15 minutes to offer another solution, but the price was way off. Another 10 minutes or so to get that right. When returning the vehicle, the clerk wanted to email me a receipt the next day, after the truck was inspected. I politely requested a receipt before I left, which I was given. The guys were very polite. This situation could have turned ugly pretty quickly, but a bit of patience goes a long way towards getting what you want and need. I would encourage a bit of tweaking on the website, as it is very confusing, if you want to pick up a rental, I suggest arriving 30 minutes before the pick up time to get all paperwork completed, and be out the door at that time. My truck was reserved for 2:30, which is when I arrived. I lost 30 minutes of rental time in the truck for paperwork. Additionally, I received a text stating the truck was due back at 2:00 pm, 30 minutes earlier. Otherwise, a decent experience

It was impossible to get someone on the phone. I called over a dozen times to get an answer for a move out question. There is an answering service but they couldn’t help. Just left vm.

Again, cooperate UHAUL messed up my reservation.... this really needs to be fixed along with accurate quotes before I recommend uhaul to anyone or use it again myself
