Dolores D.The brakes overheated during the drive through the mountains. I had to stop and allow them to cool. Then I finished the trip using the engine brakes not realizing there was very little braking action. Once in town I was pressured to bring the truck back early the next day so another customer could use it. I could have used the truck longer but I returned it after business hours 5 hours late. I was still charged an extra day for a truck with bad brakes that caused my delay.

However, when arriving at the site they tried to charge me double and their price did not match the quoted price at all. Needed to the trailer so just paid the price they came up with for the rental. Not particularly happy with the situation and don't know who was right and who was wrong with the pricing. Bee great if all departments were on the same page for the customers benefit.

MICHAEL C.Never rented a trailer from U-Haul before. The person who rented me the equipment was very nice and helpful. I returned the equipment the same day and parked the trailer at the wrong location. I offered to move it when the young person (female with bad tats) complained about me not parking at the right location. She said not to move it since it was 20 min before close time. It was 630p and the advertised close time is 7p. I guess she quits at 650p. If she wasn't willing to let me move it, she shouldn't whine about where I parked it.

craig S.PLEASE READ...This location was great. My reservation and required pick-up location was an ABSOLUTE DISASTER! I was called at 3pm the day before pick-up and had to drive 3.5 hours from Phoenix to get the truck. This was a massive inconvenience, cost me an entire day of packing, cost me additional money in gas for my personal car and rental truck, and a horrible, stressful experience.

George L.Some way to verify operation of the trailer brakes would really be nice. Visually, everything seemed to be in order. However, in driving with a load in the trailer it seemed the trailer brakes were providing no assistance. Good thing my truck has massive brakes of its own - and yes, I am quite experienced in towing trailers with brakes and know what to expect.. The brakes were noted to staff on return of the trailer.

Russle K.There was a shake in the front end of the truck but everything else was good. When we spoke to the scheduler in AZ she stated we could pick the vehicle up a day early. It was a 110 mile drive for us and we requested an extra day and 100 extra miles (we had been offered this 6 weeks earlier when we rented a truck that had to be picked up far away. She was very rude, said she was a manager and didn't give discounts, and refused. She then cancelled our reservation and gave us a new reservation number (unknown to us) which changed our bill from $3086 to over $6000. I only found out by calling the pickup location. I contacted scheduling again and spoke to Felicia who was AWESOME. She uncancelled our reservation and gave us the extra day and miles.

Stephen D.I was told I'd have an appliance dolly included. When I picked up truck I told them and they reduced price to include appliance dolly. The counter helper said he would get one when he brought up the truck. He brought the truck and left it running for me. I drove off happy. Then arriving in Holbrook where I was picking up a pinball machine, and two very heavy arcade games. That was the reason I required a truck with a ramp. Opened door to see a standard dolly that was absolutely not what I needed. Fortunately the seller had his two sons near so we were all able to carry them up the ramp which was a huge liability. On the way home I finally stopped at uhaul and picked up the appliance dolly. I had time unload by myself. I was already strained, but made it work. Hopefully nobody else is put in such a stressful and painful situation.

Would recommend this location because of his friendliness.

That letter is my reason for moving out of this storage unit and into a different company. I did tell the personnel what happened and they were checking into what could be changed with the wording of the letter.

Allan C. | Overall ExperiencePlease reference complaint number 352-7300 which was made a week ago regarding rental space 2139 which is a covered parking for RVs and boats. We have a 19 year experience with U-Haul in Lakeside which has been good. My recent experience renting a covered space was anything but good. Which was documented again through the one 800 number for U-Haul's complaints number 3527300. Regulations on how you have to park, We're not given at the time of pre-paying three months. On the morning of the incident my husband was attempting to put our boat in our spot...When he was accosted by the assistant manager over the storage area. Had she simply stated that it was a regulation and she was sorry that he had not been told. He simply would have turned it around and left. However, that is not what took place he received three mini lectures regarding other clients who were parked in backwards. He was also mini lectured on the fact that he did not have some sort of clicker which was not given to us at the time that we rented ...we had a card only. Then proceeded to say how some higher up manager was coming that day and that this site was going to be written up. All of this took place while my husband was needing to get back to work he is a store manager here on the mountain. It had been snowing overnight and raining. This was an unfortunate incident that took place with an unprofessional employee. It was very shocking to both of us since we've had a 19 year positive experience previous to this with our storage rental number 27AB. Which is in the same lot. On the day that we moved out The GM told me that following a review of this incident the remainder of my rental fee would be refunded for the $144.95 to my card. Having spoken to the GM and the customer service department I have been assured that in the future this kind of situation will not take place with our remaining rental in Lakeside. Steven F. | Online Move InJust completed an interstate move using U-Box containers. I was unsure about it, but coming from a rather remote area, I had few alternatives. Now that it is done, I must say I'm quite pleased. The containers arrived almost two weeks faster than U-Haul promised and the cost was less than half of what the moving companies offered. I'd certainly recommend that anyone contemplating a long-distance move look into U-Box.
