The biggest problem and it was big screwed me up big time. I was getting text's that started out with some talk on covid so I ignored them figuring I know enough about covid and it was something put out by my doctor's office since I recently had covid. So the place I made the reservation was not going to be the location for the pick up as originally told was changed. Was very disappointed and concerned to see that this U-Haul location did not enforce their employees to wear masks during this pandemic. I went to this location on 4 occasions, 1 to buy a box, 1 to make a reservation and then to pick up and return the equipment I rented. During these visits there were 5 different employees, none of which wore masks even when in close contact to customers. I plan to visit a different location to see if the anti-mask policy is in effect there also. If so, I'll be renting a truck elsewhere when it comes time to move to my new house in a few weeks.DANIEL D.
We Rented a cargo van to move a bed. Employees were all respectful. However, very short staffed. My rental started at 7am and there was only one person there working with a line of approximately 4 customers. At about 720am another worker came in to help. My agreement was from 7-11am (4hrs). However, I didn't receive my rental until about 730am and I was informed I still had to return my rental at 11am. Even though I finished the job prior to 11am and returned the van at about 930am, I think it's unfair on your guys end to not change the customers time of return to accommodate your guys tardiness on giving out the rental late. Again, all the employees were super helpful. However, this was a failure on the company side of things.Alejandro D.
I rented a u-haul trailer to have a friend pick up some things up for me. I didn't have a preference as to where the trailer was picked up but this location was perfect for where he was located. The transaction and paperwork was done very professionally.BEVANS M.

I paid for a 15â€ where my husband paid for a larger one truck and I happened to pay more than him and we drove the same distance. He just happened to get his truck at a different location. Than when I dropped off the keys they never checked in the truck so the next morning i got a call saying that I was going to be charged for a 24hr truck. I am completely unhappyKELLY ELIZABETH S.

The customer service at this location was really poor. The gal wasn't very friendly and didn't seem to go out of her way to help. The truck had a cracked windshield and the engine wasn't running very well. My husband was afraid he wasn't going to make it back.BRIAN S.

Your staff at this location lacks common customer service and needs to work on how they present themselves and the business. If you would like to further discuss this you can contact me. But I will definitely not be returning nor will I ever recommend this location to anybody who needs to utilize U-Haul. In addition to this, if you are not going to honor taking $25 off for cleaning your U-Haul and folding your furniture blankets prior to returning the rented truck then you need to remove your sign. Very disappointing.Edward W.

Was handed the key and told to go find my equipment. No help except it's down on the end of the building in the lot. And this was after they had already messed up my reservation twice. Equipment was in poor shape. Had to keep the wheel turned to the right because it pulled to the left. Felt really unsafe driving as it was like playing pong with a truck trying to keep it in my lane.STEVEN M.

The young gentleman who helped me get a larger storage room on Thanksgiving was so friendly, funny and helpful. I communicated with them several times over my unit, billing, removal of items, and when the unit would be returned only to be questioned several times and find my access revoked in the middle of a billing period that they tried to authorize a charge for without permission. Asked for a dolly. Did not receive one after being told it was there. Did receive refund for dolly. Truck sounded like it had engine problems. Everything you went up hill check engine light came on. Truck was dirty when we picked it up. Stuff under seats came rolling out when stopping.MARY H.

I had to use this location because the original reservation was for a different location. I was called the night before our move and informed that the 26 ft truck would not be available. We then had to go out of the way to get the truck which was now 20ft vehicle. The entire original reservation was not honored even though I made the reservation a week in advance. When I arrived to pick up the 20 ft truck I was told they did not have a vehicle to rent. I now had 6 people ready to help us move with no rental truck the day of the move! The folks at this location jumped through a few hoops to get at least a 20ft truck Because of their effort we were able to accomplish the move. Even though it was a larger cost to me due to mileage and aggravation (consistent when using UHAUL) we were able to over come the predicament that UHAUL placed us in. A big thank you to the folks at SPANAWAY location Lesson learned: Reserving a vehicle with UHAUL does not mean you will have a vehicle reserved!Jeffrey M.

If they lived in the area, however we live in Gig Harbor, WA, the address of this location says Tacoma snd it was truly in Spanaway, over 45 minutes away for pick up and drop off. This takes 2 hours away from our contract.KENT DOUGLAS D.
The location is perfect. Customer service I rec'd at the store was top notch (that kid needs a raise!) even though the condition of the Van was not. I was told the van had 1/4 gas. It did not. It was on E with the gas light on. I drove to the gas station to put gas in it and was immediately cussed out by a woman who cut in front of me when I pulled in. I decided to go to another station (less than 100 yards away). When I pulled out to the street, the van died and I was stuck. I tried to call the Uhaul office and I was put into this horrible call center phone line, press 1 for this press 2 for that. I couldn't get through without a 3 min wait to the office. I then called my mom, who tried to bring me gas however there was no hose in our can to be able to pour the gas without spilling it. Enough got into the tank I could turn the van over when starting and move the van into the parking lot of the grocery store. When I tried to turn it back over it died. While this was happening I was also on chat with roadside assistance. Mind you- I picked up the van at 1:30 pm. I am still sitting waiting for gas in the parking lot at 3:00 pm. I have to take the van back by 6:30 pm and I haven't even done what I originally got the van for. Roadside assistance said they got someone to bring me 3 gal. of gas but it would be 120 min wait time. Again, I have to take the van back by 6:30 pm, I haven't gotten anything done I needed to and I am still waiting for gas. The best friend brought me 2 gal of gas to get me to the gas station. I end up putting $36.00 dollars in not including the $5 my friend paid for. I did end up speaking to the office at the store I checked in at and although the young man who was helping me was very very nice and tried his best to accommodate me, they left me hanging like it was my fault I ran out of gas. As if I should have brought a gas can and put gas in it when I first got into it. I ended up paying full price for the van rental and I even brought the vehicle back before 6 pm. I just didn't want to deal with it any longer. It was the worst experience I've had to deal with in a long time. I was embarrassed, mortified being stuck in the middle of the street with my hazards on. No help from anyone randomly or from Uhaul. I was stuck in the road for 1.5 hours before I got to the parking lot. Can't get through with the phone number provided. Roadside assistance text was rude asking me what my issue was. Um, I'm in the middle of the street in YOUR VAN WHICH DID NOT HAVE ANY GAS IN IT, and you're asking me what my issue is??? Wow. Unacceptable.BRANDI I.
My reservation got changed from my original pick up location due to a shortage of trucks, but the manager was able to accommodate us with an upgrade truck size and mileage. Very good customer service and willingness to problem solve to get the best solutions that fit the customer's needs.ZAHRA A.

I was called the day prior to my reservation, and told that I would need to go to a different location. The lady on the phone told me that it was only 6.8 miles from the original location that I had selected. I asked her if I could get a credit for the additional miles that I would have to drive since it was out of the way, to which she said â€œNOâ€ and that I could either just take the rental or not. When you are on a budget and being charged by the mile, I think that the least you could do is offer a credit of some sorts, instead of charging me an additional $20+ dollars for mileage that I would have never driven. Thanks for offering to take care of your customers U-Haul. NOT!!! Saddest thing is that this review will not get any attention from Sr. Management. ðŸ'ŽðŸ»NATHAN B.

There is not very much parking at this location and I was not sure which entrance to use to pick up a rental. Better signage for people that are not familiar with this part of Spanaway will help with the pickup and return of equipment.Nathan O.

There was a brand new employee there when I moved my stuff in. It was 3 minutes to 7pm and I had a lot of stuff left to move. He comes up to me and says in a condescending tone "this place closes in 3 minutes, you need to wrap this up." I told him that I thought the access was 24/7 and he replied that it's not anymore because people were caught living in their units. I'm upset that he talked to me the way he did and also because this place is advertised as open 24/7. There was some debris on the floor and outside the unit in the hall including a broken lock on the floor right outside the unit. There is also a rodent bait station which I guess I should assume Uhaul put that there and I should leave it there. An explanation would be helpful though. It is also a disposable one so I dunno if it's empty and should be thrown out. The Uhaul video explaining that the passcode is for a gate code and a door code. This location doesn't have a gate like in the video. It has two doors and three keypads for passcodes. Which seems weird. I had to try all three to figure out which two I am supposed to put the passcodes in. I also don't know if their is another entrance to the storage since there are so many Uhaul vehicles around the entire building. It is also a rental place so it is very hard to access the storage.Kayleigh B. | Online Move In
