I ordered a 10 foot truck, and ASSUMED it had a ramp. Me bad. I would suggest when folks rent a 10 foot truck, ask if they know there is no ramp. BIG surprise which made the work much much harder, but it wasn't Uhaul's fault, it was mine.william P.

When I reserved the unit online and arrived in-person to pay (with movers and truck rented) I was told my reservation was given away and offered a smaller unit. Visor on driver's side was broken. Online check in/out is HORRIBLE. Would NEVER recommend. Instructions were non-existent, Uhaul couldn't find my location to allow me to check in (yes, I did have all location permissions turned on). Finally had to phone Uhaul for return and was told wait time was 53 minutes. Very frustrating.Amy M.

Horrible experience once again. Booked a 15' truck several days in advanced, less than 24hrs before hand I check the site and see my reservation was CHANGED without notifying me. It went from an out of town return to a same town return. What!? With less than 24hrs and NO notice?! My truck was given to someone else and this one can't be returned elsewhere? That's NOT a reservation. Also the pickup location was changed, again zero contact. I had to rent a 6x12 trailer and buy a new hitch hookup to accommodate it. The trailer wasn't nearly big enough, again I was supposed to have a 15' truck. So needless to say this now causes me more trips, more rentals, and can only HOPE that my rental is actually available IF I even ever use uHaul again. Also, this same crap happened a month ago when we reserved a 26' truck. The truck was given to someone else and we had to drive 45mins each way, out of our way, to get a truck that was supposed to have been 2 miles away!! The key was not left in the vehicle. There was no employee on site at the time we arrived. An employee came shortly after and was able to assist us. I feel if he had not showed up we would not have been able to pick up the vehicleDenise R.
This review is reference order numbers 23191342 and 23190979. About 3 weeks ago, I reserved a 26' truck from Plainfield IL for 10-2 at 8am. On Thursday 9-30, I received a voicemail and email stating my reservation had been â€œupdated â€œ for a new pick up location (Streamwood IL) and time (1030am). After receiving this update, I attempted the number associated with changing reservations ( 6304057455 ) only to be left on hold for approximately 15 minutes each time I called (total calls attempted: 6) and automatically being disconnected. Due to the short notice of the location and time change, I was eager to speak with a representative for some kind of resolution but was left unattended after several phone calls. Streamwood is approximately 30 miles from my desired pickup location, but at this point I settled for the change know that moving trucks were in high demand. On the day of my move, however, I received a voicemail from the Plainfield location stating they are waiting for me and that I am going to lose my reservation. I again was unsuccessful in contacting anyone from uhaul in an effort to address this confusion. I ultimately traveled 30 miles to Streamwood to pick up the truck and spoke with â€œKevin â€œ who advised he did not know why I had 2 reservation numbers. Kevin advised I would not be compensated for all the extra gas I spent this day but credited me 30 miles. The credit did not cover the extra gas I spent traveling to Streamwood both in my personal car and the rented vehicle. I would not have this issue if my reservation was left as is for the Plainfield location. My complaint is as follows: Uhaul was unable to address an issue created on their end and has a very poor customer service system in place. Again, while I understand the demand for moving trucks is high, the fact that there was a truck ready for me at my initial preferred location and time is upsetting. This is my first negative experience with Uhaul, but unfortunately will be my last as I have learned that Uhaul has a very poor system in place for issues that seem rather easy to fix.CARLOS T.
Your locations are excellent. The 800 number customer service was unresponsive for over 20 minutes twice and when I spoke to an agent two times they were on the edge of rude. I would not rent from you again if the locations were not so friendly and welcoming. The drop off informations on the forms were unclear. The message said that after hours were not available but when I got to the location there was a 24/7 drop off point. Very disappointing.JUDY F.

We got a check engine line 5 miles from our home; could not get an answer on the phone; your 800 number is always busy and we didn't have an hour to sit and the phone and wait; we had a long trip ahead of us. Your website is difficult to use and it would not let us to get to any immediate help. So we went down the street to the next U-Haul location, Rt. 59, Aurora, IL. They checked it out and said it was safe to drive and keep going.Darrell T.
Great customer service from person whom I returned the equipment. Manager of this location needs more people's skills. At the time of leasing the truck, he just handed over the keys and asked to do everything by ourselves using APP which was difficult to navigate. Check all tires and equipment before having a customer check. We got a flat tire within only 10 minutes of leaving uHaul pick up location, with no incident to cause it. It took a little over 2 hours to actually get help with roadside assistance and being 9 months pregnant, this was very upsetting.Joseph K.

I reserved a 10x20 and when I came to move in (after setting up everything at home) I was told my reservation was given to someone else and I was forced to rent a smaller unit, thus screwing up all my plans.
