I arrived on site with the UHaul express service already completed, and I still had to wait in a long line because my vehicle was not there. I called customer service and she told me to get to the front of the line and tell them that I was here to pick up a vehicle. When I did that, the person at the front desk ignored me then the manager came. I told him I was here to pick up a UHaul truck made me fill out another reservation. By the time I finally got the truck, it was a whole hour after my original reservation.

Explain clearly the fees for gasoline. I was told I would have to pay $4.50 per gallon. I was ok with that. Then I was charged $30 additional dollars on top of the $4.50 to get the gas. This fee was not mentiomed until I turned in the truck.

The 71st location was fine. However my overall experience was horrible. My original pickup location was unaware of my reservation and did not have a truck for me to rent. Also when trying to find a truck I was on hold with "traffic" for over 20 minutes before the only truck I could get was over 10 miles from my home. I had hired movers to assist with my move and had paid them upfront (thru uhaul's site) so there was no rescheduling. Due to this delay with the truck, I lost an hour of service that I had to pay for at the back end and I was caught in the middle of the rainstorm that we would have missed if everything would have happened like uhaul confirmed. Then I was told I would get a call from "traffic" to discuss my issues. That call did not come until four days later. And all they gave me was a $50 credit which I haven't seen as of yet. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

I was very unhappy with this rental, it had nothing to with this location but the original location, 8209 S Cottage Grove Ave, Chicago, IL 60619 . when I arrive there was no truck for me to pick up, I wait almost an hour before a truck at the above location was found. I ended up paying a fine for not being at the building on time to use the fright elevator, this was all due that location not having the truck there and the service was very, very, very poor I would never tell anyone to use 8209 S Cottage Grove Ave, Chicago, IL 60619 , the place itself to feel safe to go into, please feel free to contact me if you want more information 773-529-2427

The service here was so terrible I would not recommend a friend and I would not come back here myself. I scheduled to pick up my truck at 8AM through the 24/7 service. I went through all the steps on my phone and then went to look for the truck in the parking lot, it was not there. I had to go in the store and wait in line for over 30 minutes, which I should not have had to do. They finally brought my truck around and as I am about to get in and pull off, the back door wouldn't shut, they had to take this truck back and bring another one. I did not get out of there until 8:50 AM, which is ridiculous as moving is already stressful. I would like to request a full refund after this experience.

I think you all should also see if people have reservations, because I went to a uhaul and they had the truck, but it was a reservation for it. I'm on public transportation and it was an inconvenience to me. Then I was on hold for about 5-10 minutes so the representative could find me another near location.

The wait time in line. First their were two clerks, then only one. Then two, then one again back and forth for about an half hour.I got there at 8a did,nt get serviced until 8.35a.

I got there at 6:45. Two people were there before me. Someone came in at 6:57 and cut all of us and then their order took 20 minutes, which is far too long for any order. I didn't get my uhaul till 7:45, 45 minutes after I reserved it for. What's the point of reserving if it doesn't cut time at all and people who don't reserve can just cut in front of you and take up your time? The location opens at 7 and so people coming at this time want their uhaul as early as possible. Being the third person in line shouldn't mean that you shoudl get your uhaul 45 minutes late. I had a freight elevator scheduled and couldn't finish in the time so I had to wait till the end of the day to load the rest, which only took 20 min (the time that I would have had if the process went efficiently. I have used other uhaul locations and none have been this inefficient.

Customer service was TRASH. It took me 30 minutes to get my truck despite the fact that there was no line. When I returned the guy who was in charge of checking trucks in was rude and extremely disrespectful. I didn’t have any choice of location but next time I move I WILL NOT be using this uhaul location.

I was told I can gave the van for 4 hours for 19.95. I seen 3 hours on the rental contact and brought it to the employees attention. He stated don't worry about it. When I returned the van 4 hours later they tried to change me fir an extra day. I had to wait in line for 40 minutes to get the van because only one person was working the front with six people on line.

When you call and make a reservation. My reservation was not honored. I call to reserve a truck for 2 days and a appliance dolly. When I go to pick up the truck. They only have my reservation for one 24 hour and no dolly. When making a reservation they need to make sure that the U-haul has the correct information and the equipment on hand

When you call locations they do not answer the phone. I had a very hard time getting this done without calling Uhaul 800 number. Pricing on line was different than what the locations would quote me when they would answer the phone. Same issues when I went to drop off.

The staff at the 71st street location were very friendly and helpful. It was a busy location but they kept the line moving. I recommend that people try to come to a physical location like this one rather than using the 24/7 pickup because that service does not work *at all*.

Professional and courteous employees. I happened to be at the location being serviced by another employee, when a customer was giving another employee a very hard time. The employee remained calm, answering questions and explaining the screen information to the customer. I appauld that employee for being a true professionalism!

The gentleman that checked me in and gave me my truck was rude, watching a movie or show on his phone, and generally unhelpful when I told him the gas was reading under 1/4 as I was receiving the truck. But he didn’t even look at the truck with me. He just pointed to the truck, told me it was running and went back to his desk to watch his show. One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. However that gentleman that received the truck when I was finished was a extremely helpful.

The inside cab windshield was dirty. The was water inside the door handles. Driver side mirror needed to be tighten, mirror shook when driving and made it hard to see out of it.

If there was 24/7 access then it would rate above average or better. The last U-Haul facility I used provided that service. It was located on 22nd St. west of Canal.
