We were given the wrong size truck, it had a quarter tank of gas even though it was reserved for a one way longer distance drive. It also sounded like it was falling apart.

When I first got to the store I had to wait in line for a half an hour when I finally got up to the register and I ordered a U-Haul and the dolly they took a half an hour to connect the dolly and when they finally connected my car to the dolly date connected incorrect so when I went to go get gas my car came off the dolly my all tires was damaged and I have not been reimbursed and I haven't spoken to anybody about this incident I did put in the report but I haven't received a reply yet I would never use use I would never use U-Haul again when I called them to come out to reconnect my dolly nobody wanted to reconnect it I had to find somebody to help me but it was not you who I would never use you all again I had the worst experience of my life dealing with U-Haul

The truck's ignition barely worked and you could take the keys out while driving. The seats were cracked and falling apart and the truck had damage everywhere you looked. The fuel efficiency meter was falling out of the housing. Overall the truck, though clean, was in very poor condition.

When I was asked to sign the credit machine, the figure did not match the quoted amount by the worker. It was $1000 more than quoted. When I stated that I would not sign until it was corrected, I was told that the man's screen was correct and so it would be OK for me to sign the credit card machine. I declined to do so again. The man reluctantly made a paper copy for me to sign. This should NOT happen anywhere. A worker should not be reluctant to make a paper copy when the card reader doesn't show the proper amount.

This was an absolutely terrible experience. I had reserved a 10 foot truck and tow dolly for my car weeks in advance at the 12th street location in Philadelphia. The morning of my move, the tow dolly was not ready when I arrived to pick up my truck at 7:45 AM, so I was told to load up my truck and come back for the tow dolly a couple of hours later around 10 AM. This was fine as I figured we could just hook up my car to the tow dolly and drive out of the city from there after completely finishing up with the move out of the apartment. However, when I returned for the tow dolly after moving out of my apartment, I was told that the previous renter did not return the reserved tow dolly and that I would instead have to go to the 2990 South Street location. While the tow dolly not being returned was not the stores fault, they told me that I should have received notification of the location change to 2990 South Street that morning, and I did not. No call, text, or e-mail had been received to inform me of any change that morning. Therefore, I wasted nearly an hour driving through Philadelphia city traffic on my moving day with a loaded truck going from one U-haul site and back out to another. When I arrived at the 2990 S Street location, they initially told me they did not have a tow dolly either, which was certainly frustrating as we had just driven all the way over there. They later found a tow dolly and attempted to hook it up to the truck, but the lights on the trailer weren't working. Eventually, it was determined that a fuse was out on the truck. After approximately 5 hours of waiting at the store for the truck to be fixed, we were told we were good to go. We had now been delayed a good 6 hours in leaving the city after driving back and forth to different U-haul locations and waiting for mechanical issues to be fixed. Additionally, we noticed that the rear left light on the tow dolly was not fully seated in it's socket and there was a large crack in the plastic fender over the left trolly wheel. I asked the store manager if we could receive some sort of discount given the significant delay and difficulty we had been through, and we were told "no" and that we were just lucky to have had him there to fix the broken fuse on the truck. He essentially blamed the delay on me for having loaded the truck before picking up the dolly even though we had been instructed to load the truck and return for the tow dolly by the original site. We then set off in Philadelphia rush hour traffic at 4 PM and within 30 minutes, we noticed in the rearview mirror that the left tail light on the tow dolly had popped out of its socket and was bouncing on the pavement. This was extremely unfortunate as it was rush hour with heavy traffic. It was dangerous to drive without a functioning signal on the tow dolly and was also unsafe to pull over on the side of the road. Later, I then noticed in the rear view mirror that the crack in the left fender had completed itself

We made the reservation weeks in advance to reserve a uhaul for 2 days. We figured we paid for the full 48 hours to use the Uhaul it didn't matter if we showed up precisely at 7am, so we arrived at 8am to find our reservation canceled and nothing to be done since no one was there. We stood there until 9am to wait for opening to find that all the vans and uhauls had been given away and there was nothing to be done. Our lease ended at 5pm at the apartment and we were not able to be given a van until 8pm. This completely ruined our entire move in process. What's the point of making an ahead of time reservation if people can walk in day of and get a uhaul before us just before they're standing in line ahead of you? We had a horrible experience and wreaked havoc on our lives.

The customer service has gone from excellent to not very good. I had to cancel a previous order because no vehicle was available even though I had a confirmation. No one cares. The lot person had a very negative response when I pointed out the gas reading was incorrect.

I had a terrible customer service experience. I reserved a truck through the uhaul app a week in advance and went to my local uhaul place in south Philadelphia. I was never given a code for the lock box to get the key to the truck when I walked to the truck, someone else was there too apparently we both reserved the same truck. The office was closed so I called the customer service phone number. I waited on the phone for over 20 mins to finally speak to a representative who said I had to call a different number to address my concern. Finally there was a woman who worked at uhaul there to try to help me directly. She landed up giving the truck I reserved to the other person that apparently reserved the same truck. She refused to let me have another truck even though there was plenty on the lot. She spoke to her manager in the phone who said there was nothing he could do except give me my money back in3-5 business days

When I picked up the U haul, the attendant was extremely rude and informed me that: a) I did not have a vehicle after checking my last name (despite me booking it a month in advance). After asking him to check again he begrudgingly took my driver's license and eventually found my reservation. b) He then happily told me he had not seen dollies at the store in months, laughing at my reservation to rent 2. I just moved my girlfriend over 3 weeks ago renting from the SAME location and they had plenty then. He insisted he had not seen any and that I was probably mistaken. c) Hurriedly gave me the contract not informing me that the truck had only a 1/4th of the tank. He did highlight it at least, and good thing I checked before embarking on my move with an almost empty gas tank. Please renew staff at this location if you do not want to lose customers to Penske across the street.

I did 24/7 pickup and when my son and I got there around 6 AM the furniture pads and dolly was not in the truck. As we drove away I noticed the engine light was on. I called the U-Haul help line and we ended out going back when the location opened at 7 AM. There was a long line so we had to wait to get the pads and dolly as well as get the truck scanned for issues. We didn’t start loading the truck until after 8 AM so this set us back 2 hours for our drive to Georgia that day. The person at the location gave us a $6.00 lock for free but that was it. Disappointed and wouldn’t recommend U-Haul in the future.

Need a faster checkout process and more equipment on hand. Arrived 5 minutes early for a 9 am reservation, but didn't even get to the counter until 9:25. The dolly I ordered was also out of stock making my move a bit more challenging. However your staff were very friendly and understanding and gave me an extra 30 minutes to return the truck.

I recommend having a better website. Your website is prone to a lot of glitches. For example, when I checked out my vehicle, I wanted some additional items- (furniture pad, mattress cover, dolly), but it only showed that I got a furniture pad and then another item that I never even ordered for. And I don’t know why when I get to the additional items page that I’d have to change them to 0 count for items I didn’t want. It should be a zero count as default.

Its appalling that locations and customer service cant share systems or communicate with eachother. I had a one way rental from Philadelphia to Middletown Delaware. I was told I would call for a drop off location. When I called I was told I would take the truck to Wilmington Delaware and I could set up storage at this place. I picked the truck up at 2 and arrived in Middletown 5-6. I was told the drop off location was closed and I was scheduled to drop off Sunday. I arrived in Wilmington at 10-11 am. I was processed for a storage unit. Walking into the building to check out the unit the odor was horrible. Rat/mouse traps everywhere. I expressed that I would not leave my things in a rat infested place. The worker replied well that is why we offer insurance. Again I called the 1800 number for U-Haul. I was transferred EIGHT times! I was told that a manager was not available. A manager was SUPPOSED to call me within 48 hours. this didn’t occur! I was billed for both a one way trip and daily. I just called again and the representative got frustrated with me asking for an explanation for how I can get charged for both a one way and daily so she hung the phone up! U-Haul management should resolve and compensate for ALL issues!

Great in person but why don’t they pick up their phone EVER?! I was calling to let them know i’d be late to get my rental and they put my on hold before I even got a word in. I was on hold for over an hour and I eventually hung up. Then of course they called me later on asking why I was late. So incredibly frustrating. I don’t think they were ever going to pick up my call. Multiple Philly locations are like this.

I booked the uhaul they called my mothers phone to confirm that the location has switched to a Camby, 24 minutes away. and also this delays us from 7am which is the time our prefered location opens, vs 10am now at this camby location arrive at camby, they ask if my destination is to diamond pointe, Indiana when if fact we are moving accross the country. this is alarming and troubling to hear when you have a full day of pakcing and driving ahead of you. the front desk lady continued to ask questions and say shes not sure why everything on my order is messed up. she takes a long time. then asks if she can erase everything and redo the order. we are now 30 minutes behind on top of the original 3 hours. she then goes on to ask if we ordered any dollys. I said yes. she said oh sorry we dont have any at this locatino. she then takes another 15 minutes fumblnig around and calling advisor asking what to do. she then says okay sry, i will refund your dolly purchase, and you can do down the street to this other office who i just confirmed has dollys. we go to this location. my fiance gets out and speaks with the front desk. the guy at the front desk says he can not give us any dollys becuase he has no record of us or our order. we then leave becuase this man was very frighening and has shwastika tattoos all over him which we found very very offensive. At this point we are now very behind and have missed our scheduled couch pick-up so we have to reschdule that. then, we try to call other locatinos to find dollys beucase we are two ppl and can not carry these boxes without help from dollys. after calling 4 locations, and 20 minutes of being on hold later, the downtown location finally picks up the phone and says we can come pick up two dollys. we had paid movers to help us with the move and it is a specific time window we get them, and we missed 2 and a half hours of their services and only have 30 minutes with them instead. this in total caused us to arrive in philadelphia way behind schedule and to hit traffic we planned to miss. on top of that, our scheudeld time with the philadelphia police department to block off the road for our truck, was also missed. we then had to park the truck a whole 2 blocks over and had to move like that
