The trailer was clean. But after I loaded it one of the tires was low. I couldn't tell that it was low when I picked it up only after I loaded the trailer. That made for an extra stop to put air and it was more difficult while pulling a trailer.

Pick up was streamlined since I filled everything out ahead of time. But the return process was less than ideal. Zero to no communication about wait time. Walked in, to two customers waiting ahead of me. Girl at register said she was on a lunch and her coworker would be with us shortly before heading to the back. Sign on the counter said “back in 5 minutes”, waited 23 minutes before two guys arrived. Wasn't sure if it we would have her help us after her lunch since the wait took so long. Meanwhile there was another girl sitting in a chair hiding behind a sales rack playing on her phone. Not sure if she was an employee or not, but she ignored everyone. We tried our best to stay patient, but there is only so many times you can walk a Small lobby before it becomes redundant. A customer had to go outside and look for them, when he returned he came back with the employees. Very unprofessional, would have left if I didn't need a printed receipt. When asked why it took so long the cashier said we could have dropped it off by signing in to the app and dropping off the keys in the drop box.

I'm not sure. The employee who waited on us didn't know what she was doing. The first truck had the check engine light on and she wanted us to go ahead and take it, umm, no. Hubby had to clean the snow off all 3 trucks she brought out, he fell off truck 2 while cleaning it. Truck 2, first the gas reading was way off & then the milage was off by 10,000 miles. We were on contract 3 by now. I don't know why that couldn't be fixed, but on we went to truck 3 which we ended up with. As frustrating as all that was, we ended up getting stuck in the snow and since we bought the insurance, it was covered and that made all the aggravation somewhat better. We will be using the College Rd store but will avoid Airport Way. I almost forgot this, they called us the next morning asking if we still wanted the truck. They didn't even know we had the truck. She hadn't leased it to us. That was really contract 5. The person we talked to on the phone about getting it out of the snow was just frustrated (we're in Alaska and she couldn't comprehend no paved roads being near and still useable) and tried to deny the claim. The manager here in Alaska did understand and overrode her denial. It turned out okay but it was frustrating getting to the ok part!

Absolutely the worst customer service on the Fairbanks end. First of all the agent wanted to charge me an extra day for being an hour late, what's up with that??? There was a full lot of trucks... I actually picked it up early because you called me and said there were too many trucks and it would be helpful to pick it up early. If you really want a suggestion please replace the agent on the Fairbanks end...it made the whole experience leave a sour taste in my mouth. I will definitely be repeating this story to anyone who will listen!!!

During my rental I had to extend my rental each day because I still needed the truck, my bill was close to $300.00 that was already charged to my credit card and on Tuesday the 13th of October I missed the drop off for the uhaul truck at 8:45am and was busy working to complete what I needed the truck for when my mother called me very upset because a uhaul employee called her threatening to report the truck I was renting stolen and that was completely unrational, over the top bad customer relations. I returned the truck this morning as I walked in the office at 8:35am a man swiftly got up from a chair walked around towards me did not look at me, did not speak to me but reached his hand out for the key and as I extended my arm he snatched the key still he did not say a word I followed immediately behind him as he headed for the truck I had rented. He approached the truck almost to open the door and I told him to have a good day and that his rude customer service accompanied with the threat of criminal charges is unacceptable. To be treated so rudely by a uhaul employee is disgusting and shows how this world is the way it is. I am awaiting a return call from my Laywer I have never been treated so badly in my life.

Don't overcharge their credit card for 2days when it was only one day rental. Listen to the customers when they're trying to show evidence of one day rental oppose to 2 days. Don't get all caught up in your feelings when you know the customer is right and threaten to call the police like an idiots. Anybody can call the police!!!! Therefore, the U-Haul worker threatens to call the police on an innocent customer who I turn helps the worker out by calling the police for him. I nor my company will never ever do business at this location again!!!!!!!!

The drop off experience was a bit weird. The lady directed the guy in front of me to a parking space out front. They appeared to be done and I pulled in the space next in line. The lady never made eye contact, my windows were down, but she never said anything to me, she just turned and walked away. The office is a good 100 yards away and I just sat there in a surreal situation: what is that all about? I called inside and said "um? what's going on?" and the guy at the desk said "oh, she's busy". "Um? ok is she also blind, deaf, and mute? She could have a little courtesy and communicate." That guy then came out and was training someone, but never had the courtesy to say: "sorry about that snafu". He said about two words to me (in fairness he was training someone).

Goods were stolen from locker even with a highly recommended padlock. Staff haven’t been helpful yet besides saying no one can pick that kind of lock but I’ll try again soon.

The lights on the trailer worked when i picked it up but stopped working halfway though the trip. Not sure if it was my wiring adapter or the trailer. Would need more troubleshooting.

Had to replace two tires after I picked it up. They were real bad and probably would not have made the 4000 mile trip I had. Fortunately, I was able to take it back before I left and they changed both tires.

I was charged foe 3 days more than what I had the rental for - the employee who I dealt with when picking up my trailer told me I could drop off trailer after hours and made NO mention of needing to use an online app to say it had been dropped off. I called customer service and they said they wrote an email and I never heard back from anyone. This is pitiful customer service.

Someone tried to cut my lock, so I bought a second lock from you and at that time “Someone “ went into my unit, I’m the only one with both keys!! They stoked 200 rounds of ammunition for my gun, went threw EVERYTHING!! And broke my Easter decorations ( Which is my favorite Holiday). I feel it was an inside job & I had to move my stuff to a safe storage Unit elsewhere. Very disappointed ‼️‼️

While I don't have any negative or improvement comments, I would like to commend the team at this location for their excellent customer service. During my move, I had to switch from a U-Box to a 6x12 trailer. The folks at this location we're not only helpful, but also expeditious in changing my reservation and getting me on my way. They also answered all of my questions and seemed very knowledgeable about their work. I would certainly recommend this location to a friend or family member. Great job guys!

The only problem we experienced was when they gave us a box that already had someone else's belongings in it. We had to take it back and it messed up our timetable. Preston made allowances and gave us an extra 30 days from when the boxes would arrive. When we were told the boxes had arrived ahead of schedule, we wanted to rent a space here in Spokane Valley but were told they couldn't rent one yet as they were awaiting final inspection and they would let us know when a unit would be available. We never heard from them and tried to contact them several times. We were told by a central service rep that he left them messages to call us, but they never did. I got an email on 7/05 that they were charging me $97 each for the rent on the two boxes. I went to the location, which was now opened, to arrange for the boxes to be delivered and clear up the rental issue. The guy at the location told me there was nothing he could do since it was past the 30 days. Then I had to pay for the delivery even though that price was supposedly included in the original $3750 I already paid. I was upset at having to pay the extra since we really didn't receive the kind of assistance we were used to over a lifetime of doing business with U-Haul companies. I have been a loyal customer for over fifty years and have always used and trusted U-Haul for my moving and storage needs. With this experience, that will likely change. If the guy in Spokane Valley had been as helpful as the guy (Preston) in Fairbanks, and not been such a money-grubber, you might not have lost my business.

I thought the gentlemen at the counter was great very friendly. However the truck was in bad shape ac didn't work which would have been great. On two separate occasions the truck didn't want to start and when I tried to call a girl answered, put me on hold for 25min, and when I took the truck back I was totally ignored when I went to tell them about the problems. Not good service will go somewhere else next time

The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly at this location, and they completely reversed my opinion of Uhaul after encountering several difficulties with the website interface (for example, I needed to cancel a previous reservation and I couldn't do it online, I had to wait over 30 minutes on the phone to make this simple change.

The inside of the cab of the truck was dirty and had old food caked on the dash. I had to purchase windshield fluid as there was none in the truck. I had a instances where my windshield was dirty during my trip but couldn't clean it because I had to fluid. Overall truck condition was ok. I booked my truck, trailer, and storage online prior to my move in Washington. I was called on the 14th of July and given extra days no charge on my uhaul rental agreement due to COVID and the Canadian laws regarding travel and the possibility I would be held up in Canada. I was told once I got here that I was passed my allotted time and that it didn't reflect the 10 extra days and almost charged extra. I also booked a 10' by 26' storage unit in North Pole Alaska because it was big enough to hold all of my stuff in. After driving for 6 days, 2300 miles through Canada, where I had a blow out on my auto trailer in the middle of no where with no cell signal and no spare, I arrived at the college road uhaul to get the keys to my storage. Only to find out that they gave up my storage to someone else at the location I wanted to store my stuff. So they put me even further out of town in the opposite direction of where I was living. I drove further to the storage already late in the day to find out that the storage unit they gave me was again taken. I called the store to find out they couldn't help me that day because they were closing. So I had to drive back into town and wait till the next day. I went back the next day and got a new storage unit. They managed to find a conex suitable enough with swinging doors. So I went out to the storage place again for the 3rd time to find the unit they gave me once again was not what I expected. The doors were too small and not what was described nor was it as big as they said. So 4 different times I was given everything but what I ordered for storage. I normally try my hardest to be a good customer to everyone but after this experience with uhaul, I must say it was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I'm normally not one to complain and just deal with minor things, but it was one thing after another that went horribly wrong with not only my reservation but with everything else as well.

Steve in Fairbanks,AK was amazing, he may be the only reason we ever use uhaul again. He works at the store off of airport road where I got the supplies and container. After him uhaul failed beyond belief. One email says my container will arrive on the 21st of July in McKinney,tx. Then a week before the supposed arrival I get charged rent on the unit, fine I get that, problem is the container was delivered on the friday the 11th to the wrong town. It was suppose to be shipped to Denton,tx. And after I got the bill and email from McKinney I started my all day long journey to find the container. I called McKinney 4 times on two numbers, no response, I called the 1800# and after explaining everything was hung up on. I tried the chat option, after explaining everything she told to call the 1800# and that was all she could do. During this whole thing I was told it was McKinney, then Aubry,tx, so I call Aubrey, they dont have it and give me another number to a different location, I call that number and they dont know where the container is, finally I got a lovely lady named Barbara in Little Elm,tx. And she managed to to track down the container and have someone contact me. And her boss called later to make sure everything was set up. In total I was told 3 different towns, none of which were every mentioned when I shipped the container. Called 7 different numbers, and my biggest problem is my container was ready to be picked up last friday,yet the email said it wouldn't be in Texas until next week, then you charged my card for a months storage when I could have locked it up last friday, it was not sent to the location that was set up, I paid and extra month of rent when I didnt need to and spent over 2 hrs making calls,using the useless website and chat option. Not happy at all. Steve and Barbara were amazing, everyone else in between, useless and cost me extra money. And do I get my rent refunded since the container had already been delivered 5 days prior to me being billed, especially since I was told it was in 3 different towns, none of which it was to be sent to in the first place.

NOTHING NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED. Stephen was helpful, friendly, and courteous. He ensured we had everything we needed to make our move experience as easy as possible. He went over and above what would normally be expected. Stephen set the standard that all future interactions with U-Haul will be compared to. Rock star employee!

I misunderstood the associate on return date and cost. I returned the U-Haul on Thursday at closing figuring it was back before the 12:00 noon charge for Friday. Oh well maybe my mistake.

If I could give zero stars I would. My locker got broken into and the staff did nothing to help. Your location in Fairbanks, AK has no security, no cameras, no fence. I will be telling everyone not to go there and will not be spending another cent with Uhaul after what happened.
