Ted DI live in anchorage and our sole purpose is to come up for the events at the Carlson center. They always end on Sunday at 5pm and you all close at 5pm. We need to be able to put our items back in the storage after the event before we head to the airport. Even if you could close at 6 just for us to access our storage unit, that would be great. They announced several times that they don’t want anyone to move out before 5pm because it creates a safety issue for the patrons. As much as I like your facility, this may not work for us. We need to be able to rent a unit for at least 2-3 years. Please let us know if you can work with us

On the day of the rescheduled appointment, the hitch installation was completed timely and the installer clearly showed me how it was installed and answered my questions.

Raquel AThe tires were slipping on the highway. When I accelarated, the car use to get a tank slapper and it was generally just too scary to drive for the most part. I think they should update their vehcicles to either newer models or do some maintenance on the current older ones that really need it. The previous van I had rented last year didn't have such issues but it was a slightly bigger van than the current one, so maybe its this particular size van that needs an update?
soumitra sI returned the vehicle with 50% fuel but still got charged $7.50. I think the person checking the fuel level didn't let the vehicle idle long enough to get an accurate reading. I found this annoying because I went to the gas station before dropping off the truck.

Benjamin OCheckout/return app did not work (geolocation error) online return form errored when uploading photos, bad digital experience overall. Employee in the store was wonderful and helpful, had the truck warmed up and everything.
Dain HIf Uhaul wants to do business in Fairbanks, they should supply trucks that can handle road conditions here. ai had to spend $300 getting the truck unstuck in my well maintained driveway because the truck was not fit for even a light layer of snow. The optional insurance I purchased also apparently doesn't cover such incidents. The employees at the store are nice and hardworkers--otherwise, I would have left a one star review.

NARRIO G | Overall ExperienceAlthough I had an appointment and it hadn’t snowed for 3 days, my U-Haul was covered in lots of snow and ice. There was no brush in the U-Haul and it made it quite difficult removing all the snow in the dark. I would have appreciated at the very least, a snow brush to get all the snow off (as was the custom at the College location).

steve lI rented two units, one online and the other was in store only. The online unit was a split 10X10”. The split part wasn’t conveyed online. Luckily the in store units wasn’t split. Also the split unit is two 5X10s that are apart from each other . There was an available 5x10 next to one of the split units I got but the manager said they couldn’t change the online designation. It seems odd that a store manager can’t reassign units in their store as needed to accommodate a customer better.

Shawn BThis location is run very well, and I can't see any need for improvement to this location. However, U-Haul corporate needs to hire someone who can actually write a decent app. The U-Haul app is only good for reserving something, not for checking in after hours. When I went to check in, I clicked the button, and got a white screen. I waited several minutes, then tried again, with the same result. The only reason I'm using this format is that there's no place on the app to leave a review comment there.
Christopher LKES rented me u-haul & storage unit. With loaded uhaul, I found my unit locked & had to unload u-haul & drive it back to FBK. KES wanted to charge me for u-haul rental. Had to pay another month’s rent. 6:45pm they don’t answer phone. 😡😡😡

Gerald OBecause I didn't have 24 hours access I was told to leave when bringing my things to storage. I was not told that i had to sign in and what times I access the storage unit that I paid $129. And $10 for the uhaul lock. Online the price was different. And the price on the wall is $79. I believe. I'm really not happy with my experience sofar honestly.

U-Haul recommended 3, but I only filled 2 and it caused a chain reaction of rate changes etc that should not have occurred since I had a pre-contracted rate with U-Haul and they advertise how "easy" it is to add or remove boxes. It took many phone calls, and several hours to actually get the price correctly adjusted and then applying the "VIP certificate" (instead of an actual price adjustment) took the rep another whole hour to figure out how to do. I made several customer service complaints about this and am told each time someone will call in 2 days and yet nobody calls. It's been weeks.

DENNIS MI have rented a small box van from this location multiple times. The location is perfect for the intended use of the van because my organization, The Fairbanks Pioneers of Alaska Igloo #4 and Igloo #8, runs a used clothing drive collection at Pioneer Park to donate to Value Village which is next door to this U Haul facility. So, the total miles put on the vehicle is less than three. So this works out to be a convenient and efficient operation for us. Thank You, Randy Frank President Igloo #4 Pioneers of Alaska

However, the first truck would stop running whenever it hit a full stop. We asked for a replacement and then the second truck's cabin stank of marijuana. I'm allergic to marijuana. The cabin will have to be completely wiped down to get rid of the smell. Or ask for another new truck. The gentleman at the desk was very nice and helpful. Jared at Fairbanks Uhaul on Airport Way was a pleasure to talk to. Please give the man a raise for working with coworkers that contaminate the other trucks. :D

The storage area was easily accessible either via a man door or garage door. It was well lit, warm and easily accessible. The storage area appeared to be secure and free of unsavory characters. I would certainly recommend storage at this location.

But, the old flooring has been left in the corridors, which can be extremely bumpy sometimes, and if the load on the dollies is unbalanced at all, items will fall off. He gave me the keys and said that it should be In front of the building. I checked, the letters and numbers didn’t match, so I walked and checked every single vehicle and still could find it. Finally I went in and the nice lady gladly walked me to the vehicle that was mine. Also every other uhaul place that I have been to have brought out the vehicle to me. I think he needs training on customer service due to his attitude towards me, and knowing where a vehicle is. The lady did great, more better than most people in her position despite me having card issues. She needs a raise, I’m only going back because of her.

Aliyah B | Overall ExperienceWhen my wife and I moved up from Las Vegas for our new assignment at eielson afb we had put in a reservation for a 10x20 storage locker. That reservation was not honored and we had to jump through hoops in an attempt to find a location to unload a 26' truck. After securing two 10x10 lockers we moved out of one and informed the front desk twice it had been cleared. When we returned a week later to empty the second, the first locker was still open and had never been removed from our profile. The only issue I have with the facility is the hike from the loading area to the rear corner. Having another set of doors would have made our move so much easier, it seemed close to 100 yards each way when we were toting our household belongings.

This Preston so called manager never reached out to me. Shannon was rude and condescending throughout this whole experience. You seriously need better customer service employees or extensive training so they know how to BE NICE to the customers. The college road uhaul treats its customers way much better. The only reason I used this one, it was closer to my home. Never again will I use this one... Such a disappointment... There was also broken glass by my storage unit the whole month I was there, no one cleaned it. The bathroom was filthy, no tissue, no soap... Be better..

Shannon was adamant about not giving any deals/discounts. I even asked if there was any discounts for healthcare workers, she very quickly said NO. I was like oh ok.. I would rather have had the gentleman that was working, at least he apologized for having to go help a customer outside. I told him it was fine because I was still looking at boxes. I even asked her if there was any discounts for short term, because we only needed it for two weeks until the place we're moving into is ready. Shannon's very stand offish and said "No we don't pro rate" and left it at that. I was like dang, can she be any ruder! She needs better customer service skills and maybe U haul customer service is not her thing. She's going to end up helping you lose customers rather than gain them. OH, when I mentioned the college road u haul gave discounts, her rude answer was they were probably not following guidelines, I'm like really?! How would she know that. She was just not helpful at all. FYI: Your bathroom was very dirty. I asked to use the bathroom, she was like ok and walked away. I would rather have used the college road U haul facility, but yours was much closer.

Lily A | Overall ExperienceMy experience was very inconvenient at every corner. During the move in, my reservation was to a different Uhaul location that was managed by this office. The access gate wasn't working so I was forced to relocate to this location. I reserved an outside unit, which wasn't available so I was forced to get an inside unit at a much more expensive rate. There's typically only 1 worker ever to be found, multiple times we were waiting for 30 plus minutes to even talk to someone. I don't recommend this place, storage rates are super high.

Katie B | Overall ExperienceSomeone tried to cut my lock, so I bought a second lock from you and at that time “Someone “ went into my unit, I’m the only one with both keys!! They stoked 200 rounds of ammunition for my gun, went threw EVERYTHING!! And broke my Easter decorations ( Which is my favorite Holiday). I feel it was an inside job & I had to move my stuff to a safe storage Unit elsewhere. Very disappointed ‼️‼️

I will be telling everyone not to go there and will not be spending another cent with Uhaul after what happened.
