Repair your trucks before allowing them to be rented. 1. My first truck. I had to struggle to shift into Park. 2. My second truck. The front drivers side Brakes locked up, and when you are on a gravel road, it's pretty scary.

Richard UWhen I arrived to pick up my truck, there were 4 employees, but only one was helping people-and there were 2 other people needing help. Perhaps if the employee is not going to be directly helping with customers, have them NOT be standing behind the counter-because it looked like they were not doing anything!

CRAIG HThe vehicle was just what I needed. However I can't understand how I can be charged for 2 gallons of gas when I drove 6 miles! Either the tank was not full when I rented it or someone decided to simply charge me for gas. Next time I will go to Menards for my needs.
David VVerify that the truck has an actual FULL tank of gas before the customer leaves. I was told I had to fill the tank back up when I brought it back, I get that, but I was given a truck that had a little more than 3/4 of a tank. Well, I was in a hurry took get to the jobsite and didn't got back in to tell the employee so I took a picture of the odometer and fuel gauge before pulling out of the parking lot. I fueled the truck up before returning to more than what was in it when I picked it up. I showed the picture to employee and explained everything but still got charged a fuel charge, which I think is unfair.

JUAN SCoordinate on-line reservations with U-Haul centers. After reserving a truck on-line days before, I arrived to pick up the truck and the center's computers couldn't access it. They did have a truck to rent to me, and the counter service was excellent.

TERRY HAll of the sales clerks I have ever dealt with at this location are extremely nice. I prefer this location for that reason, even though other locations are closer for me. Very friendly and helpful.
ANDREW DRented a truck, went to my destination, the back door wouldn't open. kept getting stuck. Ice was on rear bumper, so stepping up was hazardous. Called store and told them the door wouldn't operate, his response.. Do you have a crow bar? U can bring it back for another, I'll adjust the miles. I didn't have the time to go back, ending up going to my nephew's house, thankfully he was nearby!! he had a crow bar to lend me. Had to use it every time I opened door. And it was very difficult !! Called back to see if I could get a discount, he said no. I asked if they inspect the trucks before renting to customers (it's their responsibility to make sure vehicles are in working order) his response, no not really. He said he'll leave a note for mgr about a discount but probably won't be able to get one. No call from mgr. very disappointing experience with this location.

RICHARD BA little bit too expensive, but the truck was enough to move. All the furniture went 3 miles extra so I had to put some gas to the truck but a little expensive.
ESTER TThe trailer brakes repeatedly disconnected and reconnected, the truck I was driving was brand new less than 11k on the OD. So I am fairly sure it wasnt the truck it was the trailer. Please inspect and test your trailer brake wiring prior to renting.
RICHARD DLocation is wonderful for us however the staff is not very helpful. When dropping off the uhaul he didn't even come out to confirm the rental was dropped off in good condition. It was to inconveniencing & he said he would check it later, even though nobody else was there.

CODY RGave me a truck that had little to no gas, and then the next morning wouldn't start. And then after we jumped it and got gas which keep in mind is $80 to fill, check engine light comes on and the truck starts violently shaking. And then instead of someone coming out to get the truck, we had to drive it back to the location we got it from which is extremely dangerous. And then they didn't help move anything from the truck (they obviously don't maintain), to the new one. And they weren't going to offer any type of discount until I brought it up. Just really really poor service man.

KIMBERLY APlease check the condition of your car trailers. We rented a trailer and I noticed the tires were sub par. I assumed they were inspected and safe but while driving with a vehicle loaded, the questionable tire indeed blew up. We were set back 2:30 hours waiting for roadside.

I had moved out of the unit on Saturday the 23 rd got ahold of someone that was new was told they were new several times talked to the gm he said it look like I was still in the unit because I had the key . To bring the key back so I did when I gave them the key the gm said well your still technically in the unit I said how nothing in the unit me and the gm and staff all verified I was out but was still being charged for the unit how . And even was charged a late fee

They were antique pieces and can't be replaced.The hours were good because I payed for 24 hrs access. Most of the people there were friendly. If it was the If it wasn't the actual Schererville place that answered they we're rude. When I rented the truck to move my belongings it was raining and the truck had a leak in the top. I'd say if you're only storing bins and everything's closed up you might have a good experience but, definitely don't store anything you intend on keeping in good condition. The storing parts don't have closed off tops. Meaning the walls go up so high so dust and dirt get pushed into all units. Definitely no mice but, lots of dust and dirt.Lighting outside was good but no inside lighting.

Staff are not quick, nor really knowledgable. Takes forever to look into things. They do not give prorated rent back if you move out shortly after month end, but they do start process of renting it back out on your dime. Renting a trailor was straight forward. Better ordeal.

My problem is she restricted my entry into my unit until her staff of THREE came out to take the second lock off. Only to find a 3 ft square of wood shavings that got wet were leaking. I never signed a contract giving you permission to lock me out of my storage unit. Under any circumstances. Period. So here we are now, in fact ill be scorned from my attorney if she finds out I am taking to you about this pressing issue.

paul m | First ImpressionsI usually paid for my storage unit in person, or over the phone, either way any time I called or went in directly, the staff was always professional and polite, for example I bought a house, and my husband went over to our unit to remove what was left there, however I could not find the card to access getting in, I called & the staff was very quick to help my husband when he was there, the staff promptly took care of what he needed, which was helpful because several of our friends were helping to remove everything from that storage. I can only wish that other companies and retail stores had staff's as amazing as u-haul, if I need storage in the future, it will only be u-haul. Thank you for the superb help in anything I may have asked or purchased, to make my experience every time I called or went to u-haul in person. I would recommend any of my friends or family to use u-haul, there are a lot of storage places, however if you want everything to go as easy as possible, U-haul is the perfect place to handle your storage needs, and their staff is nothing less than courteous and professional. Hamed I | Overall ExperienceI put my experience as average because it wasn't excellent but it got the job done. I scheduled this storage unit over the phone on May 9 and confirmed with Christina one week before loading in. Unfortunately, upon arrival we were told our space was not available and had been "given away" prior to our arrival. I felt startled and upset, as hours before U-Haul trucking called me to ask if I could move my moving day to later in the week as they did not have my requested truck (made and confirmed same days as storage unit) to then called me back 10 minutes later to say they would have my vehicle. This call woke me before my alarm and concerned me, but as the job got done, we met our mover helpers and put everything in the vehicle. We drove from an hour away to use this storage unit for one to two months. After 5-10 minutes of the worker being in the phone with a superior, I was told I could be given a size up from what I ordered originally, if I was willing to pay more money (after a 20% discount) than I was originally quoted and confirmed for the week before with Christina. I asked to speak to that superior when they arrived, which was explained as 15 minutes away. We got the storage unit assignment and were taken to the unit. A superior met us out there to reiterate the offer of 20% off with the price hike as well as that our original storage unit would have been more expensive than I was quoted. When I asked about my original price, they said "prices go up $5 once a year so prices are higher than you were quoted." This concerned me as I was so recently quoted the 149.95 and left me feeling confused and questioning if I was being taken advantage of. It wasn't until we had to reiterate that we had scheduled and confirmed the space and wanted the same charge we were quoted for and that the only reason we went to another unit was because of their mistake that we were guaranteed our originally quoted price. My preference would be that this sort of situation does not happen to anyone else by more clearly communicating what unit will be taken up by whichever reservations are made in real time. I would have rather not had the experience I had, which was not good, and definitely not excellent. I would rather have an excellent experience and know that this experience could have been avoided but was not due to disorganization, poor communication, or flawed company policy. Sophie G | First ImpressionsRats from this storage area ate my Fulton sofas x 2 and other materials in my storage- I didn't have rats in my belongings before just in case anyone wants to know - I even found a died one on the floor in the storage area. I lost a lot of my storage and had to throw it out because of the infestation. Staff did not disclose that mice/ rats was even a risk at that facility.
