Things had been fine, or so we thought, until we returned to clean out our unit #221 on 10/11/21. We opened the door and discovered water damage in the unit and a large box of personal clothing was damaged from laying in the water for who knows how long. I took pictures of the unit and there was white duct tape over this area, so that tells me there most likely had been water leaking previously, yet U-Haul rents the unit again w/o repairing the leak issue (taping it is like only putting a bandaid on it). We did not purchase insurance on this unit, didn't believe we needed to, if you take proper care of your facility. Obviously you don't and I expect to be properly compensated for the cleaning of the clothes with hopes of getting the musty/moldy smell out. I expect to be notified from U-Haul within the next couple days- if not, I will be following up myself.Jean N. | Overall Experience

The check engine light was on as I left the property and stayed on the entire 350 miles. The truck ran okay, but the check engine light had me concerned. I was towing a vehicle on an auto transport trailer and my opinion is that a 15 foot truck is not big enough for towing a car. There were times that the auto transport was nearly driving the truck.BRAD B.

The truck they let us rent out smelled like weed and the back tailgate was all messed up. When we did the walk around for the truck and had to take pictures the tailgate being damaged wasn't on the picture they had on the page.AMBER L.

U-Haul failed to have my truck ready in Hinesville and it waisted hours of my time and made me pay full price for 20' truck and a dolly that I never received. I will not be going back to U-Haul after this experience and I will make sure anyone that asks about U-Haul knows my experience.Bradlee W.

I need someone from corporate to contact me ASAP. My unit was auctioned off and I was given the incorrect date. My brother who passed away three years ago had all of his items there and it was auctioned off at $163.00. I am really heart broken and have not been showed any form of sympathy. Nor have I been contacted by the General Manager Chris Spears. I have pictures of the unit ceiling falling in and mold everywhere from the hot and cold weather causing moisture in a closed in unit. The weeds from outside began growing on the inside through the back of the storage unit. I had rat feces everywhere. I tried to donate much as I could of furniture items to Goodwill. I refused to take any of it into my brand new home. Everything else was packed and tossed in the trash. I can't believe I was paying for almost 4 years to throw everything away. It was horrible. The Uhaul truck was the only thing that was great. It didn't breakdown this time on me. I wish I could submit these pictures to show other customers. I paid on the 30th of every month which included late fees since my unit was due on the 12th of every month. I paid for Uhaul to deliver horrible services every month to me. I recommend Uhaul to upgrade the whole structure and treat customers items as they would treat their own.latosha b. | Overall Experience

I was offered a month storage for free with my one way truck rental. I accepted the offer, completed the online move in process at which point I was informed everything was all set to move in. I even called the facility to ensure that if I were not available to move into the unit that my representative could do so if I had completed the online process. I work as a front line healthcare provider and had to work so asked my wife to move the contents into the unit. I gave her all the details to do so, including a screen shot of my confirmation. At the facility, the buildings were very poorly marked and when she asked the employee where the unit was, she was informed that the employee could not give her any information because the unit was not in her name. When my wife finally located the unit, with no help from staff, the codes we were given for access did not work. As I was trying to care for my patients, I was also having to try to handle this chaos over the phone with my wife. Finally, my wife forced to go back to the employee and demand assistance to access the unit. Ultimately, locating and accessing the unit took twice as long as actually moving in the contents. As an extra bonus, to complete the online move in process to the unit, I had to pay 99.95 even though it was supposed to be free for month. I called the location 3/25/2021 to request a refund of the 99.95. The automated system informed me it would be a 20 minute wait for a representative. After nearly 39 minutes someone came on the line. I explained the pricing issue and was told that someone from that location would call me that day. Needless to say, it is 3/29/2021 and I have still not received a call. I am currently waiting on the phone (23 minutes so far) to try to get this resolved. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and frustrated with the entire process and would appreciate contact from someone who can help me. You guys make a point to mention on the automated phone system that calls are recorded to help keep your promises made to your customers.
