The passenger side rear view mirror moved every time the truck went over a bump. This caused me to stop 25 times during my trip to adjust my mirror. The anti-sway light stayed on the dashboard the entire trip, and It felt like the transmission was about to go. I have rented U-Haul trucks probably 40 times over the past 20 years, and have never had one in such poor condition. It was however clean and I am not complaining about the interior of the compartment or the cabin itself. The truck was in serious need of maintenanceJames H.

Our reservation was for a 10 ft one way truck, to pick up at the Abercorn location in Savannah. We live on St Simons Island and drove in to Savannah to get the truck, pick up a dining table and 6 chairs, bring them back to our home and drop off the truck in Brunswick. To net this out, we had to go to two locations in Savannah, Abercorn then Ogeechee Rd because they did not have a @0 ft truck for us and said they will not rent the 10 ft truck for ONE WAY RENTAL. The first location offered some huge truck which we declined and they sent us to the Ogeechee location where we had to take a 20 ft truck WHICH WE DID NOT WANT but had to accept. It was a difficult and unsatisfactory experience. WHY WOULD UHAUL CONFIRM A RESERVATION FOR A 10 FT TRUCK ONE WAY THEN REFUSE TO HONOR IT???Ceilia B.
I rent from this location often. The lady manager is extremely professional and proficient. She has hired a new team that reflects her excellence in customer service and demeanor. This weekend was particularly hectic with an overloaded lot of returning vehicles. The manager waz off on Sunday when I rented my 10 ft truck, but her team was performing with the same proficiency and excellence as if she was on sight. This is reflectionATLEE P.

I had to drive from SC to GA to return this damn trailer. Tons of Uhaul places in my area but none of them would take the trailer I rented. Even the folks that worked at those locations complained that overall Uhaul was a hot mess of a company and I agree. Sorry, but I will never ever use Uhaul again unless I see that their is a huge upgrade to their computer system and customer service. Right now it's a total sh*tshow. UHaul needs an OVERHAULJAIME C.
They gave me a 6x12 trailer that had a short in the lighting circuit and it blew the fuses in my truck to start with. The trailer jack stand also did not work at all so I couldn't take it off my truck and it took two people to put it on there. We didn't even get 5 miles outside of town we then had a blowout where we sat on the side of the road for over 3 hours waiting for somebody to come get us and we were only 5 mi outside of Savannah. So yes this is a very poor survey but it is very just.Thomas J.

The first truck they gave me had a problem with steering wheel. I had to go back to change it. The person behind the counter had no idea what she was doing . She needs major training. And the second truck she gave me turn iut to be in town use and at the drop off location the bill came out to $15000.baris O.

The one-way drop off location was changed three times. I had to drive from a location near Beaufort SC which was the second changed drop off location to the final location which was the Ogeechee Rd Savannah GA location. Don't charge the customer for gas, when the customer brings the truck back with more gas than before. Also, don't take up to 30 minutes to give out a truck, even when an online application was used. Overall, I will NEVER use Uhaul again.JEFFERY D.

U-Haul should not make scheduled reservations for vehicles they aren't positive will be available. I needed a pick up truck for one day to get to work and made reservations 72 hours ahead of time just to be called and told it won't be available that I will have to go to another location. I ended up fixing that issue and scheduling another reservation later that day for a pick up truck at the same location do you just to get called three hours before my reservation and told it wasn't available. Therefore putting me for risk and getting fired at work. I have been using a U-Haul for almost 20 years now and never had this experience throughout my life. Every time I've made a reservation, the equipment was available. I had literally two reservations stripped from me within three hours of pick up time. And I do blame the location Being I have never experienced such incompetency and horrible customer service in my entire lifeRobert N.

U Haul at Ogeechee charged my American Express card for over $1,000 when the agreed charges were for appx $372! The general manager was unresponsive then rude, I had to get a national U Haul superior to get them to respond to the problem! Also, Had I not had Am Ex on my side and immediately disputed the charges these people in Ogeechee would probably not have refunded the charges! They later tried to tell me it was just a "computer error", what a load of BS, it was a plain old attempt by U Haul - Ogeechee to chg me in the hope i wouldn't notice!!! These people ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED AND IF YOU DO HAVE TO USE THEM WATCH THEM LIKE A HAWK! I have also blocked any charge they would try to sneak in at a later date. Thank God for American Express, when Ogeechee received the dispute notice they got off their thumbs and refunded all the over charges they placed on my card!Kathy S.

we had received a call from this location regarding our tow trailer that we had to drop off it there in Savannah which was fine BUT then I was told they had to take both rentals there as they could not split the drop off. The truck was fine but, the customer service was poor. There was no acknowledgement of guest. I waited in line for 15 min, all to have the guy walk out the store and leave customers inside waiting. They all acted as if they didn't care. There was no "thank you for waiting", "apologies regarding the delay", no, "we'll be right with you", just "next in line". Very POOR Customer Service. The drop off location erroneously charged me $840.00 for the rental without informing me. I have now spent over an hour trying to get this charge corrected which your customer service representative agreed was an error. After years of problem free rentals this has been an awful experience which will cause me to seek service from your competitors in the future. Really sad after 20+ years of being a loyal customer. Regarding the staff: Da'rian (he works with the trucks) and his trainee, helped us from the moment we walked in, and they were courteous and very willing to work us. They were way more helpful than the clerks whose job is was to handle storage facilities. The two clerks, a young lady and man, were slow and disconnected from us. At one point, I had no idea the young man was speaking to me because he and the young lady were laughing and joking like there was some kind of inside joke we weren't privy to. It was uncomfortable for me as a patron. Finally, he asked me directly to give him a code. I had no idea he wanted this from me because he was just saying "four digit number" without directly addressing me. The two clerks weren't outright rude, but their demeanor and the looks they gave each other made it seem like we were the focus of a joke. Again, it was really uncomfortable for my husband and me and not how customers should be made to feel after spending nearly $200 in their facility. Additionally, when they learned that I had rented a 5x5x7 locker, they immediately tried to upsell me on a larger locker, which is fine, I wanted the next size up, but there were none available. And the only storage locker, besides the one we were renting, was way too big for what we needed. When we asked to see our locker, we're were told again it was small, like a linen closet or a pantry. Again, I realize upselling is a part of the sales process, but they had nothing else to offer me that was suitable for my needs. I asked if there was a waiting list for the larger size, and instead of speaking to me, she told Da'rian, "I don't think they do that." Now, after all the upselling the young lady was trying to do, she wouldn't ask if there was a waiting list for a larger locker. Again, she didn't directly engage me-the customer-and at that point we had been there about 45 minutes, so I didn't have anymore time to waste hunting down that answer. Also, we had purchased 10 boxes, but no one came out to the floor to assist us. My husband had to cut the plastic straps himself, and we literally could've taken as many boxes as we wanted since nobody was paying attention to us or assisting us with this part of our purchase. We just took our 10 boxes and left-we addressed them by thanking them and saying goodbye, but we didn't receive any salutation from the staff.Matthew T. | First Impressions

I had a reservation for my storage unit as well as drop off location for the truck rental, I called to confirm my order by calling gouhaul.com and was setup with a 1 bedroom unit when I clearly requested a unit for a 2 bedroom home with living room furniture and appliances , I was also told that I couldn't use the location as my drop off location, only for my storage unit.when the location is in fact a drop off spot. The employees want to do a good job. But, I rented a space that I never was able to use because their was another vehicle parked in that space. I always had to park in a space other than the one I rented. The code to raise the gate seldom worked. Infact most of the time the gate was just left open during business hours because it didn't work. When I went inside to get help there was always a long wait to get any help so I usually just gave up and left. You have a nice facility. You have good employees that want to do a good job.
