My pick up experience was horrible. I rent from here very often however this time new individuals were hired. Not very nice. Rude angry disrespectful individuals. I have never had such a bad experience like this before and I rent from uhual very often. I disgusted on how I was treat and threaten. I will NOT return and will definitely indicate to others my very poor experience. The worst customer service I have ever seen. I made the reservation on Thursday November 9, for a cargo van to be used Friday November 10. When I arrived for the van, the estimate was at a higher price than I was quoted online when I made the reservation. The employee told me the rate changed the evening prior for the milage, which went from $1.19 to $1.39 per mile. That raised my entire rental cost. A confirmed reservation is supposed to be honored at the reservation cost. This is simply false advertising in my opinion, and will ensure I go to Hertz, Ryder or any other option after this experience.ERIC A.

Horrible experience. It took half an hour to obtain the keys to access the vehicle. Attendant at facility was very accommodating, but the online process was unnecessarily cumbersome and redundant. I fully understand having to identify client and prevent ID theft as retired NYPD and currently financial fraud investigator for 15 years. Also, found the gas fees to be excessive and purposely deceptive. Vehicle was great. I would never recommend your company and would encourage any friends or family to choose a different vendor.patrick L.

The people that work there are very disorganized and do not know what they are doing. It makes for a very frustrating experience. I will avoid renting from Uhaul in the future. The intake process via the app was not working at all after multiple attempts by myself and the rude lady who was working at the desk. She had to enter my information manually. It was a very unpleasant experience. Then they couldn't find my vehicle. Then they couldn't find the keys. If i hadn't asked all the questions about the dropbox location and how to return the vehicle, I wouldn't have known. A process that should have taken 15 minutes wound up taking 1 hour causing me to miss the ferry that I had reservations for to go to see my children in CT.Alexander A.

Make sure that the employees properly inspect the trucks before allowing them to leave. I had my trailer let go because they did not have a hitch pin installed. They did not help me get the trailer engaged. They just told me to get a pin off the wall and install it. Due to the trailer coming off, the emergency brake engaged and could not be reset due to being out of adjustment. I was charged full rate and had to go to another location for a different trailer. I am thoroughly disgusted with the lack of urgency and care I expect from such a large company.Randall G.

Truck was clean, but the trucks need maintenance. First truck emergent breaking mechanism was completely missing, once engaged could not unlock. Second truck, driver's side visor missing, and ignition key switch needs maintenance very difficult to start many times. I thought I was going to get stranded due to inability to start the truck. However, the staff were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating.KARENE C.
It took an HOUR to complete my rental. The agent was polite and efficient, but to have one agent on a Saturday is ridiculous. The vehicle itself was hard to start and like a tank. The accelerator pedal was an overly-sensitive hair trigger. I've rented much larger trucks than this from Budget which handled smoother and more easily. The gas gauge read 1/4, which I verified, but then when I started the vehicle it dropped to zero/empty. I'm out the extra $40 I had to put in. Just one complaint: The elevator is an old-style service elevator requiring the outer steel door and the inner steel gate to be opened to enter and closed to move the elevator and the reverse to leave the elevator. The outer steel door is especially cumbersome to operate. The elevator alone would cause me to recommend a newer public storage facility to my friends. I want to emphasize that the staff are EXCELLENT. However, there are too few of them since U-HAUL expects customers to rent, sign in, and sign out by the Internet on our phones while being present at U-HAUL so we could take pictures of our storage facility/rental vehicle. Freight elevator was constantly held up by guests, cart was missing a wheel causing my cabinet to drop and break and the office said oh sorry nothing they could do. Unit had no individual light and the sensors in the hall went off quickly. Second the unit they gave me the door was messed up very hard to open and close and they saw this for themselves before renting it to me and said that was all they had to rent. INBOUND CALL. NOT AN IN-PERSON VISIT. Purpose of call was to pay this month's Past Due Rent for Room 495 over the phone. Bill became Past Due because of a problem on your website which would not allow me to use my credit card for payment. On 11-27-21, at 1:25p ET called 1-800-GO-UHAUL. Reached "Elizabeth" at the Call Center. Explained my dilemma with your website. She processed the credit card payment for me. After completing processing she told me that she was "unable to provide a confirmation or transaction number because the payment is pending." End result, NO PAYMENT RECORDED. We were 100% satisfied with the facility until having had an encounter with the manager at the end show and she was very punitive and and hostile . She felt challenged challenged because a product that she recommended was not received with enthusiasm and later sought to pull rank and punish us by insisting we should go up and take a photograph of the room even though it was busy and a staff member was willing and able to go inspect the vacatied room. She was utterly combative and unprofessional. Poor customer sevice. Unlike what she purported in the video which is what appealed to me when I was shopping around. Unfortunately we had too many issues with the storage facility. Between getting stuck in the elevator or waiting over 15 minutes for the elevator, we decided to take our business elsewhere. There were a few that were very helpful, and I would like to commend Mish on his help with trying to get the elevator working up to par, and quickly assisting us on getting out of the building.
