Good location for moving supplies, and the staff is very helpful. But we got a 5x8 trailer and repeatedly had to retighten it on the hitch. At one point, on an off-ramp, the trailer actually came off the hitch!! No damage to our vehicle, none to the trailer. But isn't it time retire that trailer?!?DAVID D.

The automatic sliding door to the storage was closed and locked. The doors to the indoor unloading bays were closed and not working at all. Cords across the floor made it very difficult to keep things on the carts.Coleton A. | First Impressions

The website for self check-in was clunky, constantly stopped responding and was difficult to load. It took us forever and was very frustrating. We tried calling the 1800 number, but after about 15 minutes on hold gave up. When we finally got it figured out, our requested furniture dolly wasn't in the truck. And the truck was almost out of gas. Overall, not great.William K.

This is probably the worst experience I've ever had with the company. This is supposed to be the newest facility and a secured unit and even with that someone was still able to break into my storage unit and nobody had informed me about the alarm being triggered and I found out 4 days after my stuff was stolen that the alarm was triggered and no employees had contacted me to alert me. I was initially sent to a U-Haul location in Minneapolis for an auto transport trailer. When I arrived, they didn't have a trailer available even though â€œtrafficâ€ indicated they would. I had to drive 2-hours from my home to this location to get a trailer. Both staff were very friendly but I don't understand how U-Haul doesn't seem to know where their equipment is located! This was a very inconvenient and frustrating situation to deal with!Nathan W.

The General Manager of this location is doing an excellent job, really takes pride in making sure her customers are well taken care of, and was a pleasure to work with. She was in the middle of a business call when I arrived to the store and swiftly wrapped up the call, saying she would call them back but had a customer needing assistance. The majority of businesses don't do that so well, and I look forward to using this location in the future solely because of her service and etiquette. I really like this Uhaul location. Unfortunately it's price are increasing and the competition in the immediate area (Menards, Lowes and Fleet Farm are renting trailers and trucks for less. Today was a good example. I had the trailer for about 2 hrs, The same trailer at Menards is $14.00, Uhaul is $26..JAMES A.

Had less then a quarter tank of gas . Why it wasn't full and me to return full is something I didn't understand. I made three loads 13 miles around trip put 25 bucks of gas in drop of before 7 pm waited 15 mins for the one person working to tell me I needed more gas in the truck with rain and sleet or charge me 30 dollars more. I did not receive any furniture pads. The underneath on the left side was broken and i had to block the corner with the help of the driver. The door lock was sprung and i had to work with it to make sure it would hold with my lock on it. Otherwise it was a great experience!Carl S.

I had rented an open trailer to haul garden tractor the day before to get early start next day , when got home went to drive tractor on and hitch connection was not tightened and trailer tilted up. Backed off tightened hitch onto ball all better.got tractor on tied down ready to go. went out early morning and no running lights. Brake and turn signal worked so rode brake pedal to have tail lights, Not sure guess i should of check this day before but when pick up they had checked so assumed good to go.ROGER B.

The staff was as helpful as possible in Rochester MN.Like many places right now they don't have enough help. They are doing their best and I appreciate that. However, my Uhaul experience overall has been negative in so many ways and I will NOT ever use their services again. I went the UBOX route estimating it to be most economical and convenient. I was hemorrhaging money by the time my boxes got back home. How can 2 boxes cost $2700 to ship from MN to CA, and almost 5k to ship back from CA to MN??? I was dumbfounded and livid. I got all sorts of answers from Uhaul-diesel is so expensive etc. Etc. In CA diesel is cheapest option! Had I any clue I would get gouged like that I would have rented a rival truck and saved an arm and a leg. Upon unpacking we are noticing items damaged-bent, broken,chipped- antique furniture, pictures, collectables, not too mention mouse droppings...beyond disapointed and disgusted. Apparently the extra fee I paid for "insurance" is completely useless...to the consumer anyway. How disheartening and frustrating is that?? Also, getting in touch with someone at Uhaul is a lesson in futility. You will be put on hold numerous times only to get disconnected or someone NOT in your location. I was charged for renting in a state I wasn't even in or going to, when I already had paid up over a month in advance in the state my boxes were being shipped to! All because a call center woman-Christine, was impatient and would not hear me out. Trying to undo that was another nightmare. And they won't pro-rate. 3 days or 30-its all the same to them. This whole ordeal has been grossly expensive, and highly confusing and frustrating. Never again.MARTY J.

1. The cost was higher than what I was originally quoted. 2. The gas take was only 1/4 full! Yet, we had t return it with a full tank. 3. Originally I was told we could pick up the truck at 6:30 am then found out we couldn't until 7 -which put our loading schedule off. Frustrating!jeanette F.

Improve staff, I waited over 15 min to pick up equipment and while waiting I notice the center wasn't clean and boxes needed to be unbundled to sell single ones. The girl finally showed up and was friendly and I asked if she was by herself and she said yes bc her manager was picking up items, he returned to the center with no items in hand and wasn't friendly at all. When we went to drop off at the same location we waited for almost an hour for someone to take the trailer off and finish the contract but we gave up and did it ourselves and left. Overall not a great experience. I don't recommend unless your wanting to do it yourself or wait for hours bc no one stays in the show room.CLARISSA P.

i used the app to check the truck out. The process worked but was very frustrating. Upon arrival I attempted to check the truck in using the app and failed. I had to get assistance checking it in. Not a fan of the app.Larry G.

Individual U-haul employees did the best they could short-staffed, but I hope that the company improves their communication with customers. My recommendations are: 1. customers should have direct access to scheduling # instead of getting transferred from one customer service number 2. customers should be allowed to KNOW WHO THEIR MOVING COMPANY IS AND HAVE CONTACT INFO FOR IT (my subcontracted moving company had no website, no location on google maps, and opencorporates.com listed it as inactive so I truly thought my box was stolen with no way to talk to the company) 3. do not schedule a delivery if the box has not arrived at the u-haul facility. this happened to me twice and I wasted two days waiting When I managed to get a customer service rep on the phone they were very helpful, and my box arrived safe. I'm satisfied but after having to sleep on the floor for a week... I will not be using u-haul again.Amelia T.

I found the phone app system to be very clunky and unreliable. I had to give up on uploading a photo and have a person at the counter finish the check-in process. I'm glad I was returning during business hours, or this could have been a fiasco.jeff L.

There was a lot of confusion as the RV covering units were not numbered. It would be such an easy fix. Also the unit I had signed up for had another vehicle in it. So, I was given another one after the staff figured out which number that one was.
