The only way this experience gets better, if it's free. All in all it was near perfect.

Jasmine Q.We checked our rental in at 12 noon. Did not give us a receipt OR email us a receipt. Had to go back to the location to have them check it in and provide the receipt. So, it shows we returned the trailer almost 3 hours later than we actually did. Would not answer the phone so we had to go back to get this properly documented. Called several times and they NEVER answered the phone. Very poor customer service. Will say that the gentleman that helped us when we went back was excellent. He did see that we were taken care of. If I need a rental in the future, this will be the last place I consider picking one up.

nicholas l. | Overall ExperienceThe trailer had a blown bulb and I had to wait while it was repaired, which delayed my overall trip. Please inspection / test the equipment when it it returned, not after it is connected to the customer vehicle and the clock on rental time started.

Miguel F.I was first directed to a closed store on Gallatin Pike N by your website. The website indicated there were no trailers meeting my needs at the company store. Agents handled customers slowly while those of us picking up equipment had to wait for the sales agents to close their sales. Then the person who hooked up our trailer gave us the wrong numbered trailer. More on that on the other end of this review.

An employee who works the front came in and I asked him to help because I had surgery on my knee . He stooped and help me. I don't remember his name but he works the front. Please give him a raise because he is extremely cordial and caring and helpful.,

Ryan Q.Make it easier for check in. I had selected to check in on my phone but something happened do computers and it was 1145am before I even got my truck. I had arrived to location a little before 1130am. Also I had put my card info in when I made a reservation online and still needed my card info and copy of DL at check in, I had already put all of that info in. So this could be made a little easier.

Elizabeth S.Getting a manger that cares. First I went there to get a dollie. So I had to go somewhere else to change my $100. To give them a $60 deposit?? They had 3 registers but couldn't change a $100 bill. The 1 person that cared about me as a customer black male died hair. Got the change bag to try to give change. The white female manger. Told him 3 times. They didn't have change before he looked in the bag. When I returned the dolly. 4 employee up front including the same manger. I get up front. She's not doing NOTHING. Instead of her checking in me. She looks at me & go to the office. With 4 employees 3 customers including me. It takes 30 mins from me to get my deposit back. Once again black male died hair . The only one that cares. I wish you all look at the video. I think it would speak for itself. Once again manger just sitting there. An hr. To get a dolly & return it with 4 employees here. Flirting with customers. WOW.

Pam S.It took well over one hour this morning just to get someone to tell me at which Lexington TN location U-Haul wanted me to drop the truck off. My contract number was 14584070. Renting of this truck, from U-Haul, was a bad experience from the beginning. The paperwork when I picked up the truck said that it was at an eighth of a tank; however, when I started the engine, the low mileage light was on telling me that I could only go 44 miles with the gas left in the tank. Since I had never been to Nashville before, my concern was that I would run out of gas before I found a station. Thankfully there was a station less than a mile from the pick up location. Couple that with this morning's experience and it has just been bad all the way around. It took 2 chats and three phone calls to get someone to tell me where to drop the truck off. The number given to me by the second chat conversation told me that they could not help me and that they needed to transfer me to the Kentucky office. After being on hold with that office for over 30 minutes I had my wife call the first number again. When I heard them tell her again that we needed to be transferred to the Kentucky office, I chimed in and said we are on a time schedule, can't we just pick a Lexington location and drop it off. The U-Haul employee told us that if we did that we would be subject to wrong location drop off fees and some other additional fees. Because of the hour plus that we lost this morning, my wife is going to be late for her 1 o'clock pm appointment in Dickson, TN. This issue has ruined our plans for the rest of the day and caused quite a bit of friction because of the lateness for the 1300 appointment. All because we couldn't get guidance on where to turn in the truck. Oh, and I tried the website first and it would not give me the drop off location either, that is how I ended up in your “chat†function in the first place. Neither a happy nor satisfied U-Haul customer. Don Bohn
donald B.If you are looking for a review of just the Madison location, then I can't give you any information. I never dealt with them in any way except to be given a phone number for the AZ location. There was never any updated information on the website about the status of my boxes. I was given a different answer every time I called the Peoria location. Horrible Customer Service on the arriving end

I paid for furniture pads that I never received and the straps on the tow dolly they gave me didn't work so we had to use my dad's ratchet straps and stop every 40 miles to make sure the car wasn't going to fall off. Turned a 12 hot drive into a 19 hours drive and I'm not happy about it.

I am currently in the middle of a dispute with them as they totally ruined my moving experience. I have chosen uhaul for years and am a faithful customer; however, after this experience, I will NEVER use Uhaul again!
LaTorrace S.This location is dishonest and poorly run. I was supposed to pick up my truck virtually at 8:00 am, when I tried to pick up the truck I got a message come at 9:00 am your reservation has been changed to in person pick up. It took-me 37 minutes to pick up the truck and I was the first customer the Person who opened was disorganized and appeared in a fog. When I got in the truck the air conditioning did not work and the fuel was 1/8 lower than indicated on my paperwork. I already had 3 mover's waiting at my home since 9:00 and I was going to be an hour late I did not go back in the store. When I returned the truck at 4:00 pm I refilled the truck to 3/4 of a tank exactly where the gauge was when I picked it up and told the agent at the desk the fuel was at 3/4 when I picked up the truck in the morning he responded ok I will take care of it. When I got my bill there was an additional charge for fuel over and above the $55.00 I put in before returning the truck. In closing I will never rent from the Madison TN. location again and I will think twice about using u haul.

I also called in and talked to a guy who said he would make sure that happened and he also did not keep his promise. Heather who delivered boxes at destination was good. However, I think this location lacks integrity and I would not use or recommend U-haul based on my experience.

Steve V.Unorganized store. They said there was not a pickup truck and I signed for a van, before getting the keys they said there was a pickup truck and proceeded to make me sign a new contract. They mistakenly said there was a full tank of gas, which could have been true for the van, but wasn't for the truck and up charged me that. I only used it for maybe an hour to haul a couch. But the odometer would have shown there is only a few additional miles not so much where it would drain a full tank to a half. Not worth it.

Patricia M. | Overall ExperienceThis process of having a U-Haul container was an absolute nightmare. I got lied to at every possible aspect. I was told the latest the container would arrive in Madison,TN was 6/10. I planned my trip around this and only after calling several times did I learn it would not be delivered on this date but I was never given an actual delivery date I just had to wait and keep calling every day. Thats OK though I was offered the $50 per day the container was late. Was this refund just automatically applied to my account? Of course not. I had to sit on hold and pull teeth just to get the refund I was owed. I havent even received it yet. I would not recommend U-Haul containers to anyone. I thought being a national brand and having success with the truck rentals this would work out Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!! I will be using Pods for my next move for certain.....
Greg B.We thought the truck was OK, but the trailer was a mess… When we went to pick up the trailer, two days after we rented the truck, the first trailer they gave us had a broken light… The next trailer they gave us had lights that didn't work, and we later found out the chain was missing the S link and was broken… Basically, they just need to maintain their equipment and it will be fine. The service was great, the equipment was not.

They failed to contact me and offered little help before a manager on duty was able to get me into a vehicle. Receiving a truck with no gas was a bit awkward as well.
