The reservation experience was a nightmare. This location is a huge rental location and there was only one employee. The forcing of customers to use the online forms is frustrating. The application is not intuitive, if it had not been for the employee there who did walk me through it I would not have been able to get my reserved vehicle. What added to my frustration was that I had completed the online form days before my reservation and uploaded photos of my driver's license. Why was I forced to re upload the license and take a photo? Why could I have not been able to do all of that when I made the original reservation? Finding my truck in the lot was a nightmare as well and after a Kong period of wandering around I finally found a janitor who was able to help me find it. It seems that uhaul is far more concerned about saving money by forcing customers to do everything online their way than providing an excellent customer experience. Given the fact there are no other rental options in the area, this would explain the poor customer experience. YoBryan D.

After eight years of using storage units at Uhaul, I have no complaints. There was one particular staffer who wasn't very friendly. She worked in the office at the storage site. I dealt with her once before Uhaul began renovating the office space. I do not know her name but from what I understand, she still works at the 230 West 230th street location. I ask the customer service at this location for an specific trailer and he didn't want to give me the one I choice instead he give me the one I didn't wanted from the Beginner because of that condition it was really bad I had problems on the road with the wheels I'd tell him that I was traveling far away and I need a trailer that looks good and be an excellent condition because I was traveling with my kids but he insisted for me to take the one he choice for me I have to ended pay for a flat tire and wasted money and time on my tripEdwin C.

I was charged for renting the van and paid for the reservation as well as insurance, upon returning it I was sent a bill of additional charges and now the place wants to claim I scratched the van and want to charge me over $350 when I returned it with no problems at all. I did a full inspection after dropping it off. Never doing business with you guys again. I thought the purpose of uhual was to help me save on moving expenses.For all these fees I would just hire a independent moving company and let them handle everything.Felix M.

I requested a room that would hold a couch and matching chair, dining table and four chairs. The room was much smaller than expected. The couch had to be placed up on its side ( which is not good) because it would not be enough room if placed normally. I had a great experience with the staff on Sunday. However, during the week (with more staff)... service was not good. The staff mostly spoke to one another, in particular about a customer and that person's account. They did little to assist and ONLY when I brought a hand truck to the counter to ask the price, did they FINALLY acknowledge me. There was a big difference from the weekend staff to the weekday staff. Very annoying and disappointing. The storage facility is very good and informative. But I also rented a cargo van, and as a costumer/client, like most who enter your facilities, are rookies in renting vehicles. This is a concern/knowledge in order to maintaining repeat customers. Because certain steps and procedures must be explained in detail. I rented a vehicle that prior to handing a customer the vehicle keys was not inspected in front of the customer. Keys are being handed to a customer and the customer has to go to the lot and pick it up themselves without an employe physically taking the customer to the vehicle or retrieving it for them. Therefore the vehicle is not inspected for days maybe even weeks prior to obtaining it!!!cesar t. | First Impressions

I applaud you for maintaining the space where people can pass on their unwanted items - I'm sure it can be annoying that you also get some trash - but you are doing good community service. I wasn't too happy seeing a sign left on my unit stating "it smells". As my husband opened our unit we found 3 dead rats. Due to the smell it seems like it's been dead in my unit for quite sometime. I originally had 3 storage unit at your facility. I wasn't pleased with my belongings sitting in a unit with dead rats. All of the staff from the register, cleaning crew, the people that show you the storage rooms, the area where you return the trucks & the people answering the phone were pleasant, extremely helpful & very professional. They had alot of patience answering my questions & those of other people on line. I have been there several times over the last 2 months & always had a good experience. Please tell your staff often that you appreciate their hard work & dedication. They are a true asset to your company. I live far away from your storage & truck rental, but I keep going back there because of the excellent service. Also, the manager William was always available, no matter how busy he was. The online move in was difficult because I don't have great internet access at my office in midtown and I could not upload my drivers license front/back photos.
