This has nothing to do with the actual facility. The facility and personnel were great and did their best. But I went on the app to add storage and there was a deal with one month free. I decided to reserve it since we were going to need some extra storage and the one month free was what actually pushed me into going with you guys, BUT when I showed up to the Redding location they informed me that the reservation could not be found and that they could not honor the one month free. This put me in a bind because I was planning on using the storage to empty the truck to return it. Needless to say I ended up getting the storage and paying for the month because I had no choice. Your app doesn't work for shit and all I got from the staff is that this happens to them all the time. SO Uhaul needs to figure out what the hell is going on with their systems because some stuff is not talking to the locations. I was embarrassed that I was taking up so much time as a line kept getting longer and longer behind me. So I was stressing out and so was your team member trying to deal with the system issue. So I am not happy with Uhaul at all and already spending a bunch of money moving and having to add more expenses just really put it over the top for me. It blew my mind as a company that the deal I signed up for through the app was not honored.

Paul S.$200 is expensive for a small truck for 24 hrs for local deliveries. Side windows and mirrors were dirty and difficult to see out of. Home depot and Enterprise Rental may be more cost effective.
Walt B.I only had 1 incident occur when I did the drop off after hours and the survey couldn't recognize the odometer values(???) As a higher and lower value. That's when I couldn't continue the survey and had to call a chat buddy to help me figure out what I should do next since I wasn't turning in any pix or written verbiage. Otherwise, uhaul rocks!!

Rachael D.1.) This location leaves customers waiting long periods of time when picking up or returning rental equipment. 2.) The 10ft. Box truck appeared to be severly out of alignment, or had front-end damage, as the truck and steering wheel shook violently . I returned the truck. The employee that checked the truck out to me was rude when I asked for a different truck and explained the problem. He did not say a word. No apology, no offer to give me a different truck. Nothing. When I returned the truck, the same rude guy did not look up or offer to check in the equipment. When the younger employee saw that his coworker was ignoring me, he offered to check the equipment in.

Went to the truck and came back and rudely told me he is charging me a clean up fee of 20 dollars for a little dust from the drive in the cab. When I asked him why he tells me he could have charged me more. I had a few words to say about that then two more guys came out of the back acting like they wanted to fight I'm never going through them again.

Lobsang T.Bryson really needs to learn customer service skills. When I walked in to pick up the car dolly, he turned around and walked away. Another guy took care of me and got me on my way. When I brought the trailer back Bryson was helping someone so I patiently waited. He was bragging to the customer before me that he often puts people on hold on the phone and if they can't wait 5-10 minutes for him then it really must not be important. He walked them out to the equipment and never returned. After 15 minutes I called the store and he walked out of the break room and acted like I was bothering him and was like “yeah??†I told him I was there to return the equipment and he just turned and walked out to where my car was. He is not as important as he seems to think he is!

This meant a lost day of work, losing a day of unpacking, 5 hours on the phone trying to find out what was going on, nowhere to sleep for a night, local Uhaul talking down to me and refusing to help, and having to reschedule the movers, etc. Before that, I would have said Uhaul did great, but delivery of Uboxes and receiving help was not good at all. So far, nothing has been done to rectify the situation. I'm bummed and disappointed…I landed ahead to try and make sure this didn't happen. How I was talked to by the local Uhaul was not ok.

When I asked about the $50 guarantee I was totally ignored!! TWICE! The man that helped me at the desk was filthy dirty & someone down the hall behind the desk was talking to someone me one in the office & threw at least 5 F-bombs before someone closed the hall door. I would NEVER recommend this location & I have rented from here several times in the past 25+ years! I want my $50 guaranteed reservation refund!!!!

The experience with the pickup location however, was very unpleasant and I will avoid U-Haul in the future if I have to deal with this location. I called to setup an appointment on the 18th to pickup the Ubox at 10am. When I arrived they had someone else's ubox prepared by mistake and only had one employee for the day. I scheduled to pickup the ubox the next day at 10am. When I arrived the owner Howard was working the desk and started off very rude and asked me why I came to pickup a ubox without an appointment. When I explained I had an appointment yesterday and explained I had a new appointment for that day he said “I doubt that, there are no notes in our system for you†and advised me I would have to pick it up the next day at 8am. This was my second day attempting the pickup, the 19th. Howard was very rude but said to come the next day at 8am. On the 20th I arrived for the third day at 8am as Howard requested. He was working the desk again and greeted me at the door with “why are you here?†I explained I was here to get my box and he called me a liar in front of another U-Haul employee. He said I requested the box to be picked up the following Monday (I'm 3 more days) Howard continued to be very rude. I requested my box that day as i was running out of time borrowing a truck. He said to come back in two hours. When I arrived at the time he requested another employee helped me hook up the trailer and said I was good to go, and the experience was fine from that point on. However no paperwork was signed or filled out at all. When I asked Howard what paperwork he wanted me to sign he said “I don't want you to sign anything, just go†Awful experience. We are not sure if any items have been damaged. We have not opened our boxes yet.

It was very uncomfortable moving in because the area is so unsecured and totally open to anyone. I had transients walk through just in the short time I was there unloading and there is garbage and signs of transient use behind my unit. I really think you should consider fencing the area and allow access only to customers. That being said I am grateful to have a place to put my things and for the free month that came with my trailer rental. I hope it stays secure. $1000 insurance could never cover the loss of keepsakes and property. Best wishes, Richard

My order was mysteriously canceled and I had to call to fix it then I was never told it was an indoor storage unit up a flight of stairs and that was NOT what I needed(the redbluff uhaul storage set up was what I expected) And the redding location doesn't honor the free month and they had such limited availability they couldn't even give me the correct size. Ive never had any issues renting trucks and equipment but my experience with the storage aspect really tainted my trust. I hope your employees are clearer in the future.

It's completely unacceptable. The toilet in this facility also constantly has feces all down the back of the toilet bowl. Same exact situation 3 years ago when I rented there, no change.

I gave them approval as long as they put another one on and left me a key at the front desk. After my wife tried to get the key she was told they would never do that. After about a week of trying they finally came out to remove the lock again (assuming we locked ourselves out) and came to the realization that they had the key in one of their drawers up front. Pretty disappointed at how much of my wife and I's time was wasted. Facilities are incredibly expensive compared to local storage.

The wait times are excessive. Every call is transferred to at least 3 other "departments" and sometimes you MUST go to the local UHaul to have your question answered or need resolved.
