The wait on Friday at the Cypress Avenue loacation in Redding, CA., 07/12:2024 was more than 45 minutes…as this was due to an understaffed crew. However, Daimler and the other employees worked hard and remained courteous to all of the U-Haul Customers who were waiting to rent equipment. My original Truck Rental had a low front left tire 🛞 so, Daimler replaced my rental with another truck.

The employee that checked us out was amazing above and beyond. Now when returning the trailer today we encountered the rudest employee ever. Awful I will never return to this location again. He was nasty, rude, and dangerous. He could have injured or killed someone with his reckless behavior.

It’s not the facility, it’s that U-Haul confirmed our install at a location that is at this moment not in operation yet. We had to drive back to Redding. I talked to a regional manager who told us to call the Redding store to see if that was where it was scheduled. Why didn’t he find that information out and let us know? What a clown show. And your web site wasn’t working. A few customers complained about that in the Redding store. I used U-Haul in Caldwell, Idaho last year. Amazing service, even though another customer got in our truck and left, they handled everything. Maybe they had better training or better management.

The workers were nice but the computer system crashed and I was surprised that corporate didn’t have some sort of paper system back up. If the computers didn’t come back on, we would’ve never gotten our U-Haul and that would have been devastating financially and for our move. We waited for over 2 hours until we were finally able to check out. We had to oay our helpers extra to wait for us. Very frustrating and felt bad for the employees.

More knowledgeable phone reps. With my 1st person my bill was to be $272.00. When trying to explain I only needed a quick connecrmt she was rude and determined that I needed more than what was necessary. The 2nd person on the phone tried to change my request but was unable to get that done. Finally I got my son to yse your app and he put in what was needed. He got the price to $157.00. And then the night before my appointment I was able to look up my order number. This time the bill said $167.00. When I actually got to my appt. the very friendly person could not figure out all the different prices. (I had copies of the bills with me) Even as he looked at the copies he could not figure it out. And my needs were to get wiring in my car so I could tow a trailer and have lights and blinkers. As it turned out even he said it should just be a quick connect BUT when completed he did have to connect the wirings to my battery. I think a bit more knowledge / training should be made for the phone people. It was frustrating. The store person was super friendly but even he could not figure out everything. And it would be helpful to us seniors to have a discount. I had to save for a long time to be able to get the work done. And I still have more to do with the trailer.

Need more people working rush hours. Truck was not in sound mechanical shape. Truck was fairly dirty in cab (grips, steering wheel, handles) Main issue is that I am dangerously allergic to smoke and the rental had clearly been smoked in prior to my rental, which required me to keep windows down and fans off at all times. If I had been using it for a long distance I would have had to change trucks. This is not a reflection on the staff who helped me.

So in the app you shouldn't ask for payment until you are done with wanting us to take pictures and such... Because when you guys ask for payment I locked the truck up and through the key in the box and then you asked me for pictures of the interior I thought what the fuck is this?! So it obviously was a little late for me to take pictures. It was a bit frustrating. Also in the app there shouldn't be 21 questions to borrow a truck. Like moving blankets all that other shit if they need it they're going to ask for it. They don't need to be questioned if you need movers or help a loading or all this other crap but all they want to do is rent a truck! That was extremely frustrating for me as well. Other than that everything is great

Although I think the gas mileage was high I noticed that when you get a U-Haul on a Friday or a Saturday that they jack the rate of the gas mileage up to $1.29 a mile when it’s usually a dollar a mile any other day that’s truly just not fair that is price gouging! but thank you for the use of your U-Haul and it worked for us so you have a good day

I rent trailers all the time this time i had to do a 1 way since my local was out. Cost me 4 times the amount. Then you tryed to male me drop it off at a location 16 miles past my local location making it 32 miles out my way! when you charged me 4 times the rental fee i dropped it at my local susanville uhaul

Booked a 10 foot box truck for 6:30am as I had a film shoot to be on the road for at 7am. The location changed my reservation the morning of to when they opened which made me late and cost me about $500 for the production. When I asked why i couldn’t pick up the truck before opening utilizing the 24/7 service I was told that the Redding branch didn’t offer that because trucks would be stolen and to not tell corporate because corporate would think they are just not wanting to do their jobs. Which is exactly what I think. Furthermore, I made the reservation last week and the branch had plenty of time to notify me of this policy. When asked about this, I was told they don’t receive the reservations until the day before which is very hard to believe and if true a horrible reservation set up as a company. I would really appreciate a refund for this rental as it was a terrible experience.

We rented an outdoor drive up unit and had all of the space we needed. Due to an upcoming project at the facility we were asked to relocate or move out and help was offered. While it wasn’t ideal to move so quickly, we would have e stayed another month at least, the offers of help financially and logistically was appreciated. I would rent again with Uhaul in the future, including for storage needs.

I have given a 5 star rating because of your great staff and rental facilities but honestly don’t feel comfortable recommending your storage. It was very uncomfortable moving in because the area is so unsecured and totally open to anyone. I had transients walk through just in the short time I was there unloading and there is garbage and signs of transient use behind my unit. I really think you should consider fencing the area and allow access only to customers. That being said I am grateful to have a place to put my things and for the free month that came with my trailer rental. I hope it stays secure. $1000 insurance could never cover the loss of keepsakes and property. Best wishes, Richard

There was miscommunication somewhere. My order was mysteriously canceled and I had to call to fix it then I was never told it was an indoor storage unit up a flight of stairs and that was NOT what I needed(the redbluff uhaul storage set up was what I expected) And the redding location doesn't honor the free month and they had such limited availability they couldn't even give me the correct size. Ive never had any issues renting trucks and equipment but my experience with the storage aspect really tainted my trust. I hope your employees are clearer in the future.

I reserved a storage unit several days before moving but when I got into town I was told by a somewhat robotic and unemotional employee that there were no storage units available and my reservation which was confirmed via credit card and email was not in their system. It's completely unacceptable. The toilet in this facility also constantly has feces all down the back of the toilet bowl. Same exact situation 3 years ago when I rented there, no change.

Line was very long. Staff was kind and helpful. Kept telling me about the access card swipe doent work and to just ignore if it errors and just go to the unit. Not alot of confidence in the security offered seeing as anyone can ignore the security and just come in. Have a drive up unit, which was sketchy. I'm 50 and can hop th edd fence easily. did purchase insurance, but I did not get the impression that that matters.

Code to unit did not work. Over 3 months. So I moved put. I was paying for alarm. Antony can get into my or other unit. Plus the door alarm for card was out too. The manager say one time then it never got fix. Plus which staff member like to use customer bath room. Stick it up

About half way through my stay, a Uhaul rep called me and stated they would need to cut my lock off to install new security system. I gave them approval as long as they put another one on and left me a key at the front desk. After my wife tried to get the key she was told they would never do that. After about a week of trying they finally came out to remove the lock again (assuming we locked ourselves out) and came to the realization that they had the key in one of their drawers up front. Pretty disappointed at how much of my wife and I's time was wasted. Facilities are incredibly expensive compared to local storage.

The local UHaul staff and knowledge is great. The local staff are very helpful and go above and beyond. The phone system and national UHaul experience is horrible. The wait times are excessive. Every call is transferred to at least 3 other "departments" and sometimes you MUST go to the local UHaul to have your question answered or need resolved. Corporate is terrible. Local is amazing! Local phone contact would be even better. Thank you, Cyprus Redding UHaul for all your help!

Avoid uhaul like the plague. Uhaul's incompetence took nearly 3 weeks to deliver my ubox. An associate gave us wrong information leading to delays. 3x the scheduled delivery dates were missed.

told by 800# to ask for prorating. Told no. Not uhaul policy. Policy is unfair. 3 days is not a month. No more storage with uhaul upon moving. Uhaul, great for trucks. not storage. Disappointing.

I never actually visited but the staff here and in Red Bluff were quite dedicated and helpful on the phone in arranging the move of four Uboxes and delivery to my home.

Returned calls go to the call center. Every time. U Haul is a disorganized mess. Have not received info from UHAUL that my contract has been completed. 1 UBox came with forklift holes. A mess.

I was given the wrong truck and the truck in my name went to someone else. I got charged twice! BF was given wrong truck. Cockroaches at facility. Sirens were on and frequently lights were off.
