CHAD SVery unprofessional, so sad this is the only place I alway go in reading. I did a reservation a week before and the place was closed when I go there 30 min lost. They had to send me somewhere else a mile away. I know It's not that far but the waste of my time. After I got to the second place, the two guys that were there were very rude flirtatious asking me personal questions. After he provided me, the key told me that the car is outside. I stepped out to look for it. I couldn't find it. I came back in to let him know that I couldn't find the car and the guy specifically told me start looking for the car with the beeper like really I am here renting a vehicle the most you could do is help me out.

They have the drop box and parking spaces but the application give problems on uploading the pictures so we can submit them and finish the process to return the trucks by the application.

THOMAS DWalked in at my reservation time and no one is to be found. I rang the bell and then proceeded to walk around outside as trucks were running and doors on trucks were open. I said hello into the garage and nothing. I went back inside and rang the bell again and called the phone and still nothing. After 20 minutes my boyfriend walked around the other side of parking lot and found 2 employees in the back of one of the trucks. The male employee told him we had to wait for assistance so I went back inside. I was then told I couldn't return my truck after hours when I clearly reserved until 10pm and there is also a sign on the door as well as a key box.i had to rush to get my belongings out of storage inti my new house in 2.5 hours so I could have the uhaul back by 5 pm closing. This by far has been the worst experience I have had in a long time and feel I shouldn't even have to pay for this nonsense.

EDGAR CI'm commenting because I'm worried, I might've been misrepresented by the representative/s I spoke to at the main Uhaul 800 number. First off, the ladies at the Reading location were very nice, and NOBODY appeared underhanded. Actually, I've used this location in the past because it's one of the better ones, and never had a problem. But times have changed and "liability" is majorly impacting businesses and individuals. Consequently, when a renter accepts a vehicle, it's "technically" assumed to be in excellent condition -- clean and spot-free inside and out, with no scuffs, streaks, dents, gashes, or nicks. In the past, I was told that normal wear and tear was acceptable, but nothing's in writing. Checking out some of the comments at other locations -- such as the Marathon in Hamburg, PA - puts a whole new spin on things. Bottomline: The van I received was not in perfect condition, nor can it be because it's used for hauling!!!!! So, would the girls at Reading Uhaul have let me slide if I didn't leave comments? Possibly, because they're nice people. But I don't know what new Uhaul standards they're following today. Furthermore, your employees shouldn't be expected to waste time notating every minute imperfection for every single transaction, and neither should renters!! To top it off, I used the texted link to begin the process of notating issues and when I was almost done -- right after trying to upload a photo -- it froze and disappeared! Let me restate: Your people are doing their jobs to the best of their abilities, and I didn't suspect ANYONE was trying to pull a fast one. They're busy and trying to hold down wait-times. If they're expected to do more thorough vehicle inspections, wait times would triple. Suggestion: Streamline the process and show employees, in clear terms, WHERE there's leeway (on vehicle condition). Also ensure that the same "clear" information is relayed to renters so they aren't compelled to cover their a*ses by spending an hour in the parking lot detailing every single imperfection and filling out a long questionnaire. My best to the 2 girls who waited on me!
GEORGE BOverall I would not recommend Uhaul at all. We had so many issues. I made the reservation for our truck and then was contacted by load share to take a trailer down for an additional day, 300 miles, and a $350 refund. Our pick up location was for Lebanon Pa for the trailer. I was contacted a few days later that the pick up location changed to Allentown Pa and I said that would not work for us and to cancel the load share. A few minutes after that phone call, I was called back to disregard the location change and that it would still be Lebanon Pa. So we agreed and went to Lebanon to pick up this trailer and the woman there said there were no trailers scheduled for pick up that day. She told us we would still be entitled to our additional day, 300 miles, and $350 refund since we held up our end of the deal. I received no issue with us using the extra day or the additional miles however, I was not refunded the $350 we were told we were entitled to. Highly disappointed in our Uhaul experience altogether and will not be using or recommending.

This was thankfully cleared up when we talked to the Reading team when we showed up to dropped off our trailer. They did everything to help us out after our long tumultuous drive up from Georgia.

ORLANDO ADispite the miscommunication caused by the lack of notes taken by scheduling the staff, the team at the drop off locations went above and beyond to help us despite the situation we were in right down to helping put a wheelchair carrier on the back of our suv when the pin would not work anymore.
cynthia BWe had a flat tire on trailer, contacting road side assistance was simply and excellent team communication, however wait time was incredibly long, we started out from Reading PA got the flat 2 hours into trip and the service came from Reading we waited just over 2 hours, the mechanic was excellent and very efficient, however there should be closer roadside assistance available and they should be supplied mounted tires to get you back on the road alot more efficiently.
Robert BI have been a customer of this particular location for more than 10 years and have found their. customer service and the general manager, as well as the general employees have always gone above and beyond what anyone can expect. The people are friendly and willing to work with their customers within the bounds of Uhaul and the locations allowable rules and regulations. they are prompt with delivery according to schedule pick up.. The location as well as the rental units are always very clean.

JOCELYN JHow is possible you have the a racist manager in one store when the people there is 80% Spanish ? This person (manager ) have very bad service. I am a returning U-Haul customer but this my last time I used your service . This Leidy we me in front the front desck , she take his time for smoke some cigarette, and I waging for 25 minutes in my time , just wating for the service . Again I see how she work with the Spanish peoples like me, and the different when she work with American persons. When I rented the truck she said is not possible 24 hrs , when she have more than 25 truck in the the store same dimention . When I return the truck she told me I need to wash the truck , I did that and then she charger me 145 us more anywhere is not it's not fair. I'll doing the reclamation with my credit card . I then I'll speak with my lawyer about this racist treatment that that manager always has in your store on 5 Reading Pennsylvania .
