U-haul forced me to drive 14 miles out of my way to pickup the rental. No explanation. If i can't rent U-haul equipment at the location near me then why have it. you had 2 weeks to get the truck and carrier there. Somethings wrong at U-haul.Chris N.

The website wouldn't let me make a reservation for the day I needed. I contacted a rep through the chat. They helped as best they could but could not book the reservation over chat. So another called me. He was nice and did a great job. But the original location I was to rent from did not have check out through the app or website. I got called from another rep 45 mins before my reservation time and they had to change the location to Prescott. That added 25 miles to the day. The website or app never did have either reservation on it. I was supposed to get a $50 credit on my rental since the original location fell through. I'm still waiting on that. This was the second time I have had trouble with Uhaul. I don't know that I will ever rent from them again.PATRICIA L.
Used this location multiple times. Customer service has been an issue but it does seem to be getting much butter with the hire of a new manager. With that said, equipment I rented was always in good shape and functioned as advertised.David M.

Just a Heads Up that the store opens at 9:00 AM, so no advantage to arriving early. There were about 6 of us cued up at the door waiting for it to open. Two of us, myself included, were there to pickup a trailer at our scheduled time of 9:00 AM. The rest were buying supplies. The trailer pickup process was easy and efficient. The only thing I would suggest to U-Haul would be to include a "recommended hitch height" for whatever trailer you've rented. This could possibly avoid a too low or too high hitch on your vehicle. Otherwise, they did a fine job.Ken B.

I rented a trailer ho 6x12 trailer for two days with the insurance. Not only did I have issues with the trailer lights but upon return of the trailer the young man helping me unhooked the trailer without testing the lights and said he would email me a receipt two hours later my bank account was charged an additional $45 plus tax cleaning fee. Apparently if you use the trailer to move leaves or live in Prescott where leaves blow in the trailer you will be charged an additional fee they do not tell you about when you rent from them but state it's in the contract maybe you should read it. There are many other rental companies in town to use that won't rip you off on the holidays. I recommend going to them and stay clear of this uhaul location even with it being the only corporate location in Prescott, Az.William B.

I would like to have given a 5-star rating but the computer system there kept going down- we tried all 3 registers to ring up an extra item needed. That can give one a panic attack, especially when he/she knows there's plenty of funds available on their card. Still, the sales associate, Desiree Wolfer, that helped us was very accommodating. My truck rental also went smoothly although I wish someone had warned me that I didn't have a/c before I was stuck in the desert heat of Needles, Barstow & Mjohave in Sept at 110 degrees. Every time we schedule a drop 4 times. It was never in the requested drop location so we had to spend time searching for it even having staff find it. Enron then there were times they couldn't find it. There u box was way below par. I do not recommend this service to anyone.Bobby L.

Bad experience. The person whom "helped" me I found out later was the manager who put my hitch on upside down until I pointed that out. Then there was a problem with the left signal on my tow dolly. They sent me off a woman by herself on a aproximate 6 hour drive largely through desolate desert telling me it was fixed. About 7 miles I saw a circular object (my left signal) dangling and swaying like a clock pendulum so I pulled over but prior to my pulling over it realeased itself and about hit the woman driving behind me whom followed me to where I pulled off. She said it would have caused an accident as flew up into the air after it dropped. When I called up Uhaul they said they no longer had a doolly available. I told them they better find one as I had a long drive as well as one that was safe. When I pulled up the man whom helped me smiled and asked how I was andI explained I was NOT happy. Told him I wanted to speak to a manager and he got annoyed and said he was the manager. Told me he had just been trying to help me and that the signal malfunction did not cause an accident. Said he was sorry but felt he was more annoyed. Told him that he put my hitch on upside down, then supposedly fixed the signal and sent me out to drive approximately 6 hours through desert with a signal that was not secure. I had purchased insurance but did not think it would be for uhaul itself. He did get me another dolly and it was much quicker then the first and I made the rest of my trip up and back with no problem. The facilty was nice but not the best location and the rest of the personnel working were nice as well as efficient. I doubt I will ever use this location again unless it is the only one in the area that has what I may need.michelle B.

The only thing I have a problem with is the way you Estimate the gas .on arrival because we were removing long distance we filled the tank not knowing how much the truck would take to drive it up hill and for a distance. There's no way to gauge that. I ended up giving you almost 3/8 of a tank extra and at today's gas prices that could have been 25 to $30 exthirty dollars extra in your pocket. There's no way to refund any money back to us for the extra gas.. I actually think the old way was better for the consumer. When I left I was sad to learn that their policy was that I had to pay for the whole month when I had gone 2 weeks over since I paid. I got no money back & I had been with the company for a year. It would have been nice, but other than that everything was good. Storage was fine and I had no problems other than after hours. Access to the storage units during non-staffed hours is through 2 smaller doors (man doors) and not the large automatic doors. The smaller doors are not as easy to use when moving furniture as the larger, automatic doors. There is a container with poison in the unit to keep rodents away. I couldn't tell what the container was until I picked it up & was then able to read the writing on it that said poison, do not touch.Linda P. | First Impressions

The employees are TERRIFIC! but the process was horrible. We had a GUARANTEED reservation but when we arrived, our unit wasn't available resulting in renting a very small unit. The small unit didn't accommodate all of our household effects and forcing items into the small unit resulted in massive breakage and loss. UHaul should NOT guarantee units that aren't available. Storage itself is great (clean, dry and secure) but its location is not necessarily convenient. Instead of sitting on a large open area, this storage facility has multiple floors and seats against a tall hill. Icy slopes in the winter make its access a bit tricky. A large elevator and various carts are, however, helpful for moving things in and out of storage. The staff is very helpful and if it wasn't for the location itself, I would highly recommend this location.Helene P. | Overall Experience

Getting the unit was a disaster. We reserved online, had a moving truck on the way. Had a contract number and when we got there they said " oh that's actually not available " despite the fact we had a full size moving truck on the way and nowhere to put things . Which is how we got the smaller unit. Amazingly about 20 minutes later, our big unit we had reserved was miraculously available again. When we went to move out of the unit, It says there will be a $50 fee to have the locks cut. Which is fine because in the move I misplaced the keys. I get a call from a lady at the storage place saying that WE have to have the arrangement to get the lock cut. Which means we had to be there. I never got the credit we were promised for enrolling in automatic withdrawal. When we were there, there were two other people with the same issues of reserving online, and coming in to nothing available.
