There was a lot of damage done to my belongings loads of moldy and smell of wet mildew. I had to throw away tons on clothes and shoes never worn. I was informed that there was a fire however, I gave them permission to go in my storage unit and was told everything was not damaged and my unit did not need to be switched I just needed to pick up my new keys but, that was not the case. If I knew my things would have been damaged and I had to go through all the trouble of trying of reaching out to the insurance company to get my money back for all the damage I would have picked a different storage unit. This one was close to home and convenient but wasted a lot of my time and then was going to charge me for the amount of garbage of damaged clothes I had to throw into their dumpsters.

I started my belongings here with a very important to me for many years just to find them covered in rat feces when I wanted to move out. When I told him about it I was asked questions like how long was my thing is there and how many times have I used the unit as if that has anything to do with it the rat infestation in the building. I will be filing an insurance claim and will want my $1,000 for compensation because there are things that I lost with that had rodent feces and urine all over them that I cannot replace.

Greetings my name is Ms Jewel Parris l Place my fans in your storage as a safe keeping as I move to a smaller place with my sister in 2019. II expected my things to be safe at night. Add that 2 different occasions. I was contacted about my lock's not being on properly and it was open. Which I secured it myself before leaving, after storing the things. Second time they call and said there was some damage to the unit at which time. My daughter and nephew went to the storage. And check everything and change the lock. The third time it was. It was a fire in an upper floor at the U-haul, and it was some damage and needs to be checked at that point one of the managers open up. My unit never got back in contact with me. Never knew what happened they up and refused from the time they had. The firing flood last year never gave me information or the insurance company only to find out on about the 17th of March 2025. After Many phone calls that I received pictures and it was obvious to the eyes that someone obviously burglarized. My unit as I donit's items which is very visible because it's a size of it at the time. Of being store there. We're gone. The bags have been opened shoes. Laptop stains that. We're all over the floor it was obvious that something happened so I'm a dissatisfied customer at this point I trust you w**** as something that I thought to be upstanding and would take care of my property why being Stuart there and that didn't happen? I've had for my storage unit for almost 20 yrs and it's becoming a habit of Uhaul to pass cost on customers everytime this location has a fire. If they took more time monitoring the items being brought in they wouldn't lose longtime customers

The truck I had was old, a little beat up and not clean. Driving it at highway speeds was scary because the steering wheel had some play. Maybe it was just this one truck, because in the past their equipment was fine.

The outside of the vehicle was somewhat dirty and dusty. The windshield was dirty and when the sun reflected off of the windshield it made difficult to see at times. However, the overall experience was very positive. The staff that I interacted with on the phone in person were courteous and helpful.

The young guy- I think his name is Tyrell- has been helping SO much these past few months. He was always so quick to run around and help me with figuring out how to work the access key code, help me unlock the bathrooms, help me find the dumpster, help move the stairs. This guy is so friendly and so helpful and efficient. Truly the nicest UHaul worker I've met ever and please tell him thank you!!

I scheduled a 26-foot truck through the U-Haul phone application. The application stated that the 26-foot truck was guaranteed, or I would receive a $50 credit. When I arrived, the staff was polite, but they refused to rent me the 26-foot truck and kept making excuses. I explained that, according to the application, U-Haul was supposed to give me a discount because they failed to provide the truck I had reserved and guaranteed. However, they dismissed my concerns, stating they would not honor the guarantee. I was ultimately forced to choose another truck that was not part of my original reservation.

Within a half hour of picking up the mini open trailer, while traveling on the NJ Turnpike, one of the tires on the trailer had a blowout. The nearest exit was 5 miles away and we had to contact roadside assistance to figure out if they could repair and replace the tire or tow us. The first person I spoke with got disconnected from the call, and didn't call back even though I had already provided him all of the information to identify myself, my location and issue. The second customer service saw the notes but still asked all the same questions. Finally, they got in touch with a tow company, just to learn they didn't have the small tire to come fix it. So a tow came and towed us to another uhaul location, to be told they 1) didn't have the same size trailer and 2) if they gave me anything, I would have to return it back to NJ when I live in NYC because my contract was local. Had to contact the original rental location to get management & corporate involved because the manager at the NJ location wasn't trying to do anything at all. They finally decided to give us a closed small trailer that was one-way that could be returned to my original rental location but that equipment had peeling paint, a stiff latch an⁶d door that was rusted. When we left NYC my original ETA was 4pm. By the time we got back on the road my ETA was 7:30. 3½hours waiting and going back and forth with 2 locations and corporate was more than inconvenient, it was unacceptable.

The storage unit was infested with mice droppings. The dumpster fee was over priced and based on what the manager thought was appropriate from a picture not from actually looking at the storage unit, measurement of size or actual weight.

For your smaller storage lockers that are situated above other lockers that are under ceilings should be maintained a little better. The dust and bedree falls into the lockers. Maybe a make-shift cover or tarp to protect stored items, that would be bring your rating level higher, everything else so far so Good. Thanks.

The facility is great. Well-lit, safe, convenient and affordable. The staff was always friendly and informative. Only this is that my unit had rats, and roaches and a lot of dust because the unit ceilings were open and not sealed. My items such as my bed, mattresses, dining table set and clothing were ruined and had to be discarded. So I basically paid for storage for nothing because I had to throw everything out.

There is water leaks everywhere in the building the sixth floor is soaking wet, a customer was complaining about leaks on the fifth floor and I saw many tags on the sixth floor that said the unit has a water leak. Repairs need to be done to this facility.

The move in process is very simple when booking online. However I picked this storage because I was offered a month free if I decided to also rent a uhaul moving truck as well. I called uhaul to confirm this and I was told because I moved within the same borough I did not qualify for the free month. Why was I able to pick this option online if that isn't the case. Besides this inconvenience my moving experience was with uhaul was a decent.

The location was out of the way No grace period given for payment, im a senior who's check day is on the 3rdbof the mo I asked bto be given until then for payment I was charged a $15 late fee every single month. I am so disappointed. I moved from a well maintained absolutely clean facility to U-Haul where my unit is deteriorating. I have peeling paint. I have what seems like what was a window (I can't. I get so angry just thinking about what my unit looks like). There is no handle on my unit to pull up the gate. I have to use my hands on the ridges of the gate. I want to cry. I'm going speak to the manager and advise him/her about this unpleasant experience.

After making my reservation with the call center to rent a box truck from Grand Concourse I was offered a storage unit with the first month free at the 138th street location. Upon arrival the clerk cancelled my reservation and told me it's not free for the first month. I advised her this is what I was offered from the call center and when I clicked on the link that I received in a text it said the price was $244 and $0 due upon move in. I asked her why my reservation was cancelled and she could not provide me with a response. The manager then said he couldn't find my reservation even though I provided him the reservation number and I was forced to pay full price for a unit. I am very disappointed with the way this situation was handled and the games that were played. The only reason I came to this location which is out of my way is because I was receiving one month free. I tried calling the call center last night and after 38 minutes on hold I finally hung up. I would like some sort of concession for my troubles. Not only am I at a location out of the way for me, but I was also forced to pay for a unit that I would have gotten at a different location and possibly different company that offers first month free.

I visited this site a day prior to my move in to verify the size I wanted was available at the online price quoted. Everything there checked. After driving 4.5 hours with my loaded truck however, the day I need to move in I open my storage unit to find a gigantic concrete Pilar inside which means the square footage I would be paying isn't what I'm getting!! I was speaking with a lady at the desk about the matter and interrupted by a rude guy who cleans the trucks that said "you'll have to take that up with uhaul"...the fact that the unit was a total misrepresentation of what I was sold meant nothing to either of the representatives inside the store which I find absurd as I find it hard to believe that NOONE there INCLUDING THE RUDE CLEANING GUY knew about my unit as well as any other units that are sold qith concrete obstructions inside!! This matter I hope Upper management will correct at this location and urge them to treat uhauls potential customers with a bit more respect and provide better customer service as all this could have been avoided. I'm now paying for this room and one additional until I find another storage location that opens up with the total square footage that I need!!!

I lost thousands of dollars worth of items I stored in the Uhaul storage unit due to the neighboring unit illegally storing gasoline. It leaked all over my storage items and I am extremely disappointed and sad considering I am a college student who will have a hard time replacing most of it. Not to mention, I am in dental school and had to store some books and notes that were destroyed. The manager did not respond in a timely manner at all and I had to even send him another email since he never responded to my first one. I understand that he may have been busy, but after I sent my second email to him he responded that he was aware of the incident.. so why not reach out to me or respond if he was aware? I am hoping to get a full reimbursement back. When I went to move my stuff out at night (bc it's supposed to be 24/7 access) I was saddened to see it wasn't opened bc the elevator wasn't working. I would've appreciated an email from the storage facility letting everyone know that so I didn't have to drive all that way just to have it closed. When we went the following day and had to deal with the gasoline all over my stored items, it was unbearably hot and proved that this facility unit is in fact not climate controlled. Overall, terrible experience and I will not be recommending any of my college friends or family to store with Uhaul.
