I rented a 26' truck but it was not available for me when i went to pick it up. I needed a truck so i took a 15' truck instead. The staff was not able to help me out with any reimbursement or compromise on the inconvenience. I had to make multiple trips to move my stuff since i had to take a smaller truck. I was thinking â€˜oh uhaul will be happy to work with me since the reservation got messed up' (26' truck i was supposed to take was still out with a customer that had lost the keys). My reservation was supposed to cost around $85 but after i returned the truck it cost me $225 total. I called and talked to another person that couldnt help me and they said a manager would reach out within 72 hours but i have not heard from anyone yet. Its been 2 weeks. Oh yea the gas gauge was mismarked on the contract. when i pulled out of the lot i noted the gas level and returned it with the same ammount. I got charged for 2 gallons of gas on top of it all.Jay E.

I rented a trailer for an out of town move. I asked when I picked up the trailer that if I returned it earlier than the automatic five day reservation, if I would be refunded for those days. I was told yes I would be. Apparently that was the wrong information. Very disappointed and angry that u-haul is basically taking advantage of people. I picked up the truck after hours. FInding the truck was a bit difficult given it was dark out. THey should put all trucks being picked up after hours in one location to make it easier. The mobile signal was not very good there either which made it hard to check out and back in. You may want to add a wifi for people to use to make it easier.Monty M.

I scheduled a truck two months ago for a location very close to my home. The day before my reservation I received a text that I had to drive almost 2 hours to get rent the van. I rented the pickup truck 8' bed it was very nice How ever I am a (66 year old woman 4 ft 11 â€œ tall )and I couldn't see over the dashboard, I went back inside to ask â€œ where is the pump up control to raise the drivers seatâ€ I was told this brand new Truck doesn't have one??? I was then told to get a cushion, so I actually drove to my house and used a cushion! However the passenger seat was much higher?? Other than being short and not able to raise the driver seat up had no other problems!!!Laurie W.

The equipment was ok but the windshield was dirty inside and out, I had no way to clean it or time, made it hard to see. Staff friendly enough but it was U-Haul's own issues I had the most problems with: 1. its website refused to upload my drivers license causing delay and hassle. 2. its website refused my original mileage/fuel photo and eventually accepted a screenshot of it, bizarrely. 3. the need to give an emergency contact is fine, the need to call them to verify they exist is NOT AT ALL OK IMHO... especially if I am renting at 7/7:30am. I was lucky a friend answered. That was the worst most ridiculous hoop to jump through. 4. I spent nearly 40 minutes on hold in the evening to discuss an issue with my final charge. Especially due to 3 & 4 I will never ever ever rent from U-Haul again. Not because of its employees, who range from ok to very nice, but because of its terrible policies and the extremely poor functioning of the check in & out.Catherine F.

Truck was hard to handle on the road - steering was very loose (and yes, we have driven other trucks of this size - this problem was above and beyond the usual issues of large vehicle handling). Also, location was understaffed - staff were very nice and helpful, but it took a long time to get service each time we went in due to long lines. Also really disappointed that we couldn't rent any truck longer than 24 hours. This made our local move much more complicated.Frederika K.

UHaul Moving and Storage in Pittsfield has served me well. Within the past year I moved to MA and needed a 10x10 climate controlled storage space. When I eventually moved into a small condo in Western MA, I was grateful to have access to the storage at my own pace. Fortunately, I have recently been able to clean out my unit. UHaul Pittsfield is a great storage facility, in fact, the best! I have never seen another storage facility so efficiently run, secure and easy to access. Manager and associates are very crude and unprofessional to customers. I will never do business with this horrible place again. Manager never called me regarding my Uhaul box truck rental and blatantly lied to my face saying she had called. I have proof from my phone records that no call existed. We drove 40 minutes just to be told she gave my rental to someone else. She wasted our valuable time and put a wrench in our plans. My son was spoken to inappropriately and unprofessionally on several occasions and was harassed by her and another associate when he went to his storage unit. The property is extremely clean and well maintained. The staff for the most part are extremely friendly and helpful. The only 2 not so great things are firstly the price. I have two other storage units at different facilities one of which is twice the size of the one I had at uhaul but is a self contained unit and the other is slightly smaller but is indoors in a climate controlled facility and both are less expensive. While the hours for the facility do make up for price slightly the location kind of nullifies the added hours of convenience. The second issue I had was that I had to purchase a lock from uhaul to secure the unit prior to putting anything in it. After reserving and then paying for the unit I was told if I didn’t immediately put a lock on the unit that it wasn’t actually mine and could be rented to someone else while I left to run home and get my lock. Obviously I didn’t want to lose the money I had just spent on that unit so I had to make a second transaction for a lock which really irritated me. Those two small things were my only issues. As I stated the person who assisted me when I initially rented the unit and the person who closed my unit out were phenomenal. On a previous visit to the uhaul location I was able to work with the owner and she was phenomenal! She was super helpful with my moving process and even sold me on the idea of getting a storage unit at this location. Unfortunately due to a car accident I was never able to fill my unit. I also ended up having to pay an additional month for the empty unit as I was unable to get out to the location and complete the necessary paperwork to close the unit. Overall if this is the only location available for storage units or if you are going to need to make regular trips to this location for truck rentals or moving supplies this option is great!Jennifer S. | First Impressions

We rented the unit online with an online move in so we assumed everything would be ready to go. The first time we went was during business hours and we put in our code at the keypad, it welcomed us, when we got to the unit the alarm still went off when we opened it. Then we came after hours (around 730pm) and used our code on the keypad only to see that the code didn’t work to open the door. Another person there said we needed a card? We never got a card and this defeats the purpose of the online move in. We put our code into 3 different keypads that night and they all welcomed us and told us we were checked in but wouldn’t open the door. We piggybacked with another group and the alarm went off the entire time we were in our unit. Honestly very clean unit. I had no issues with mice or anything which I was very worried about but when I was moving out I didn’t see a single sign of any. They have dollys you can use which were VERY helpful. Loading docks which were great for the day it was pouring and I decided to move more things. And the staff were always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone. All communication was pretty clear but i was not told i needed to sign in on one keypad then go to the other keypad to gain access to the building. I didn't like that online it says u get your 1st month free but they said it is regarding a truck rental but it didn't say anything about a truckApril Q. | Online Move In
