The customer service representative via phone went the worst, not only did they completely mess up my reservation but also couldn't resolve the problem and made my entire experience that much worse. I would never use uhaul every again especially the 24/7 truck share. Missed my furniture pick up time for my move plus came out of pocket for moves I didn't use because couldn't get the truck at the time of my reservation. Horrible experience

Employees rerouted us to a drop off location other than the location listed on our contract. Upon arriving at the second location, the employee told us we would have to go to yet another location. We spoke with customer service for 45 minutes. One customer service representative hung up on us, and an individual at the 13th Street location was rude, disrespectful, and forcefully grabbed the truck keys out of our hands. After this ordeal, which entailed us driving around Philadelphia due to employees' demands that we go to different locations, we ended up being billed for exceeding our mileage limit. In the past, we've always used U-haul for our moves, but after this experience, we will surely be much more hesitant to use U-haul. We have requested full reimbursement based on rude customer service, inconvenience and time wasted (utility appointments were missed due to these delays). We are expecting to hear from customer service on Monday. If we do not receive full reimbursement, this will certainly be the last time we use U-haul.

When I got to my location, the truck is reserved wasn’t available even though I’d called the day before to confirm it would be available. I was sent across the city to a different location to rent a bigger, more expensive truck. I had movers waiting an extra hour because of uhauls mistake and had to pay them for their time. The representative at the first uhaul location assured me that I would receive at least $50 compensation. When I called to make sure that I wouldn’t be charged for the more expensive truck and for the $50, I was rerouted multiple times and each representative said they were unable to help me and would need to forward the call to someone else. This experience sucked.

Everytime I call — I am asked to be placed in a hole and the hold will last for about 20 mins. At the actual store front- the clerks are not very friendly or helpful. The only positive is the location

If we are expected to be able to return the vehicle after hours, there needs to be available parking. The lot was blocked and packed full and the street parking was completely full. I had to squeeze into a space that probably wasn’t a space and hope it was okay. Spent 30 min on hold trying to get in contact with customer service with no luck. Garbage experience.

The passenger side mirror on the truck that I received was faulty and became loose and moved out of position as I drove. Before starting my trip, I checked that I had clear sight-lines. But, as I was driving on the interstate the mirror moved until I could not see anything on my right side, which was incredibly alarming. The mirror was held in place by a set screw that could only be tightened with an Allen wrench. The screw was stripped, so it was clear that this issue was a known problem and there had been an attempt to tighten the mirror. That means this location knew the mirror was bad and still sent this truck out on the road.

Terrible location; felt unsafe just picking up the vehicle. Lots of homeless people standing right outside the door. Also felt like I got upcharged, apparently you don't include tax in the online quote and only show it when the person is sitting right in front of the counter. The miles limit also doesn't make sense. Needless to say, I'm going back to Budget -- this was my last time using UHaul and I'll tell my friends and family the same thing

Uhaul blamed me for scratch damage to van I did not do and then didn't bother calling me about them. I just got an extra charge. I'd like to see the actual scratches I am being blamed for. I think it's poor practice to just bill a card with no communication.

It would be extraordinarily helpful if the address of the pickup location was included in the confirmation email after you book. I mistakenly chose the 13th and Vine location instead of 12th and Washington and nowhere in the confirmation email is the address obviously shown. Both are just called "Uhaul of Philadelphia ".

We had some difficulties using the self check-in service, in particular four times when we tried to take a picture the camera function did not load which was very concerning as we were worried we would not be able to pick up the vehicle. Thankfully it eventually started to work. In addition, having some directions as to where the vehicle is parked (ie in the lot on X St. or along Y St.) would be helpful to improve ease of finding the vehicle.

When I picked up the truck, it was at 3/4 of a tank, not 7/8 as they had mentioned. I tried calling the office but the line was too busy and I could not get through. Then, the locks on the truck were not working. We couldn't get into the car. I attempted to call roadside assistance and after waiting on hold for 30 minutes, I submitted a request online. We waited an hour and then caled our own locksmith who charged me $200. but again, the locks were not working. At this time, my movers had to leave. Absolute waste of money and no help from uhaul. Would not recommend.

short version: one person was checking ppl in therefore missed my reservation start time. long version: stood in line to get my truck reservation. an employee told me i could check in using app. tried it and couldn’t. asked her to take a look. at this point i was out of line. she kept telling me she would be right with me but after nearly 15 mins she said go back inside and check in. i could’ve been checked in already if i didn’t listen to her. then she came in to help work the registers and instead of helping me who she said she’d be right with and had been waiting a long time and missed the start time of the reservation she asked for the next person in line. what kind of dumb customer service move is that?

I was very happy with the customer service I received a 314-322 N. 13th St, Philadelphia, they understood my needs and treated me as a long time customer from the moment I met them, very professional.

1) Your website would not work when I tried to return the vehicle. 2) Your location services would not work when I tried to return the vehicle. 3) I've called the UHaul line three times. The first time it took over an hour to speak with someone and the second and third times took over a half an hour. This is ridiculous. 4)Your parking lot was filled when I tried to return the vehicle. There were three other trucks that had to be left in the street along with mine because they lot was grossly overbooked. The fact that you have to share location services and go through the website when you aren't connected to internet is troublesome. There needs to be printed instructions for the return so these issues are avoided. I've utilized UHaul a number of times and other locations provide printed instructions. After a long night of moving, I had to sit in the UHaul for an hour and a half by the time I received instructions to just park the truck in the street and drop the keys in the drop box. THAT COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN MENTIONED ON MY EQUIPMENT CONTRACT. On another note that I don't care about, but did notice, was that I was charged an extra mile probably for them to move the trucks around. I have the picture to prove it. Way to nickel and dime....

To customers renting a van or truck: upon pickup of the vehicle, I highly recommend carefully checking all 4 exterior sides AND all interior areas for damage (INCLUDING the cargo area!) If you see anything suspect, don’t assume that the staff at this location has already noted it in their record. Carefully crosscheck the digital images that are shown to you to see if all damage is recorded. To the staff: in my opinion you need to give all customers

There was rat poop in my storage bin. Only one of the two elevators works, and when it stops at a floor there is a 1 inch gap between the floor level and the elevator level. This makes wheeling a heavy cart a little difficult. They do not allow Uboxes to be dropped there, but advertise renting uboxes. I did not know this when I rented a storage locker, and had to pay to rent a truck and then transfer my belongings to a ubox in S. Philly. They would not comp me my truck despite over one hour of working the phones in the Uhaul call centers. Shout out to their employees who are truly kind people, and I just feel bad for them having to work for a company that does not value the customers needs and are not empowered to make any concessions to customer requests..

There was nothing wrong with the vehicle itself and the pick up/ drop off went smooth. it wasn't until after when I was charged for imaginary "electronic tolls" when I only used cash tolls. I was in contact with Josie Mada of the Tolls and Citations department until she made the decision to ignore me after charging me for these false Citations, I wont be using Uhaul again any time soon.

The entire team at this location was excellent! Chanae (so sorry if I spelled that incorrectly ) was very helpful in helping to identify all supplies I would need for a smooth move and was accommodating when we needed to shift our pick up/ drop off time. The surrounding area looks a little sketchy but the actual uhaul facilities were clean and the trucks in great working order. Highly recommend this location !

Miserable experience. Never again. After reserving a truck weeks in advance of a move, UHaul’s local restrictions about overnight rentals resulted in cancelling my reservation twice, and not getting the vehicle needed, 4 days ahead of the move. Mobile pick up procedure was a joke, an employee had to complete the transaction or I would have been left stranded without vehicle at all. My final humiliation was getting charged a $25 “cleaning fee” for some potting soil crumbs from a plant I could have easily swept out of the van with my hand upon return - so minimal I hadn’t even seen them. Just hire movers, and save yourself stress instead of $100.
