Michael B.The 190 Boston Post Rd center in Orange, CT has very rude employees. The first day I went in to put my stuff in storage should've been when I canceled the reservation all together. I had reserved the biggest storage unit, put a down payment on it online & then they said they only had small ones left.. Then the guy BEHIND me went up to the counter asking for a large one and they miraculously had a large one available for him. So my husband had gotten into an argument with one of the staff members who had threatened him "he's not the one to play with".. The staff is rude, unprofessional, immature and definitely not customer friendly. Also, they are not accommodating at all. I got a letter to pay a certain amount by a certain date, when I went to go pay it, they told me I had to pay a completely different amount.. Of course MORE than I expected.. Specifically, $250 more than what I expected to have to pay. I talked to someone from customer service, they gave me different information than the employees that actually work IN the orange location.. and when I told the workers what customer service said and had wrote a note in my account as well, they wouldn't accommodate that. Seems like *most* of the employees there should be sitting behind a desk, not dealing with customers hands on because they're incapable of doing so politely and professionally. Definitely wouldn't recommend giving your money to this location, they don't value their word at all.

Lynn H.Communication with customers is poor. I rent a auto transport for 1 day/24hrs. Upon returning the trailer I was told by the worker where to park it and to unhook it myself and he'll be right over to look at it and print me out a receipt, after waiting a few minutes he walk over and ask if everything worked fine. I told him yes, he then told me ok then I'm all set and once he's finish with the customer he was hooking up he will email me a receipt. After about a hour I notice I didn't receive a email and so I called uhaul and a representative transferred me to customer service which got disconnected. The next morning I woke up to a receipt and notice that they charge me twice for the trailer and put it that I dropped off the auto transport that morning. I called them and with no satisfaction I was transferred to customer service again. The agent I spoke with told me she doesn't understand what's going her manager will call me back within 72 HOURS. UNACCEPTABLE
Bejohn C.Truck was the incorrect size, smelled like oil, handle on rear to get out of truck safely was broken, glass left out on ramp. Wrong truck means I had to take a second trip and pay more but I reserved a 26' truck not a 20'

Ashley M.My vehicle was unavailable when I went to pick it up after hours, and I was stranded and in a time crunch, and there where no vehicles available for the amount of time I needed. Out of desperation I got the only vehicle available and tried to get it for longer in the morning, but I ended up getting charged for late fees instead. I was not notified that my initial vehicle was cancelled until the next day, so I was put in a very bad situation by this company.

Lynn H.Counter person was Awesome! She took care of all my needs. BUT Your "Tech" Who "Hooked up" our trailer was rude, unqualified, and abrasive. We had to hook up the trailer ourselves he was busy playing on his phone the whole time and then when he brought the 4 pin over we told him we needed a 7 pin he said "Well go buy one " And then he told us all trucks including our GMC yukon had a 4 pin. Then this "trained professional" opened the plastic cap where you lower your tire from and said it goes in there. Guy was an untrained idiot and is a liability to your company. Please remove him from your staff quickly so he doesnt damage a customer vehicle or misinform anyone about what their car does and does not have from the factory. Completely ignorant.

LEON S.Have your employees test drive vehicles to make sure that they stop and the brakes are working correctly and not making noise while driving , and when a customer Bring the truck back to have a manager with some knowledge drive the truck and determine road worthy.when I told the girl I didn't feel safe driving it I wanted a different one she found one in New Haven but I think it should've been delivered to me rather than me having to go get it for my inconvenience instead of getting a smaller truck which I had to make more trips to do this job , and bring it back a day earlier I needed it for because it was had to go out to someone else the next day.

Grant S.I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience. I had a reservation and when I arrived to pick up my truck, I was told that there was no truck here for me. The manager did a great job at trying to find a truck, but it took about 45 minutes of calling different locations. When I was finally given the truck, I did not receive any of the equipment that I had requested and paid for on my order. I did receive a discount, but for me that is not enough.

William R.The only problem was the lighting. There is no light inside the storage room and the one in the hallways switches off after some time of no motion in the hallways. Often, I found myself in my storage room in the dark only with my cellphone light. That needs to change.

He would be an excellent manager if he wanted to. The electronic checkin is terrible, it doesn't work and I was in hold with customer service for 50 minutes to be out through to so done else and after being told it was a 5-10 minute wait, I hung up well over an hour later

Peter W.upon return, my rental truck died in the center driveway. I was on the phone for over 92 minutes and, after the initial person answered, the help site I was switched to NEVER got back to me. After an hour, the music stopped playing. This needs to be improved! I got better service from Icie on the on-line help chat.
RonaldP B.The customer service by Ariana Bowman was unacceptable. She was rude and had no concern for me as the customer. When I tried to explain to her what was told to me when I called in and noted on the account she completely ignored my concern. Instead she said it wasn't her problem. Her last words to me is if you don't return the van by 4:30pm I will pay a $250 inconvenience fee. I have been using uHaul for years as well as my employment where I serve as Executive Director. I will not use that location again. I will go to New Haven and use the State Street location. I will notify corporate concerning her attitude.

Luckily there was one unit available but had there not been this would have been extremely inconvenient. I was told reservations were not accepted here AFTER being cancelled on, but why then did they allow me to place a reservation? This is a terrible way to conduct business.

THEOPHILUS A. | Overall ExperienceI was trying to move my things from the U-Haul in Connecticut to the U-Haul in North Carolina and I ended up needing one extra day to exit the U-Haul in Connecticut and they had no way to work with me on that I tried to get a prorated rate. they wanted the full month and nothing else when I asked if I could just get until 10pm on my last day to have things out they said no I would be locked out of the unit at 7 PM that was not the case when I moved in there. I was for sure loading things at 10 pm. I could not understand if I would've been late on my payment I would not be locked out, but because I was requesting an extra day that I was willing to pay for they could not work with me. Well I'm back in NC and decided not to use uhaul and will not use them again for trucks either.
Sharon E. | Overall ExperienceI want to thank Fred and Uhaul for standing behind me through this difficult situation. When mice decided to move in my storage unit I lost about 3/4 of my things. Everyone else tried to tell me Uhaul probably wouldn't compensate me. But I carried faith with me. Uhaul is one company that still values customer service in a day where it is hard to find. It wasn't easy for me to lose my high school year book or my children's' sentimental belongings but I was respected and felt valued. Thank you again Fred and Uhaul for doing what's right! Godspeed

Alma J. | Overall ExperienceThe facility is spotless, the unit was spotless. I had to use the bathroom, very clean and well stocked. The directions to get in after-hours were not that clear, it took a few extra minutes for me to get into the building. But once inside, you could tell that this facility was well taken care of. The text I received when I booked the unit said there would be a lock waiting for me in the unit. There was no lock, luckily there was a Target nearby and I was able to purchase one. However, when I went to the office the next day to seek a refund for the lock, the person was unable to help me. She was very professional and took down my information. I was told to come back when a manager was available. The lock was less than $14. I would expect that employees can be empowered to make a $14 decision, especially since I had a receipt and the text stating a lock would be in the unit. I have not had a chance to go back to the office, so I am still out my money. I provided my cell number, no call back. That is why I am rating this just average. Frank Ficaro 203-556-4792

A safety concern is patrons did not wear masks in shared hallways. Need signage to remind customers to wear a mask. Overall I had a good experience.
