We got to the location after hours and had a hard time figuring out how to do return online. The lady in charge was working late and had a lot to do. It was a holiday as well. I didn't want to bother her but she insisted on helping me. We really appreciate that she took the time, even though she was so busy. Thank you very much!jackie W.

The only problem that I had was reserving a truck on-line only for there to be no record of it in my account upon arrival. The issue with this company isn't at the Hanover location. The issue with this company is the awful customer service through the phone service required. 3 hours prior to my original pickup time they rescheduled me to the Hanover location half an hour out of my way and a half hour away from my original pick up location. All representatives I spoke with on the phone had an awful bitchy attitude and offered no help at all. All phone representatives were completely useless and should frankly be trained on how to treat customers. The Hanover location customer service was great however.Seth S.

The girl kept the trailer snowy even though I told her I am coming back in 30 minutes Then I had to clean the snow myself because she didn't want to. Then the trailer was defective and I had to clean a SECOND trailer from snow. Pickup went fine but when I went to drop it of the guy outside handling the returns was cleaning a van he saw me pull in looked at me for a second and went back to what he was doing the I got out of the truck and walked over to him and said excuse me (nicely but loud enough to be heard) he did not even acknowledge me then I went inside to try to talk to someone else and they said the guy out at the canopy would take care of me so then I walk back out to him he sees me walking over there and he was looking at me when I got about 4 feet away from him and I said â€œhey, how's it goingâ€ he ignored me and went back to what he was doing (at no point said just wait a minute just outright ignored me) he did not help me until I border line yelled what do you want me to do with the key to the truck and he said put it in the truck and I will check it in later so I did I was very disappointed with that customer service on the drop off and would probably not use this location again because of that, I get it if the guy was busy but the least he could do was say hey just give me a few minutes not just ignore me it was extremely rudeCODY B.

When we first put our things onto storage the garage door for the LIFT was broken so we had to figure away around that to get our heavy things up to the second floor. On our move out day the garage door broken and the lift was broken so we had to move our stuff from the second floor down the stairs. I don't know why it's so hard to have working garage doors and lifts. The entire time I rented a unit from here The lift never worked. What could have been a horrible experience was turned into an overall good one thanks to the person who was working when I checked-in, Kenysha Watkins. Technology seemed to fail and the whole experience took longer than hoped and expected, but Kenysha was awesome and left me walking away satisfied instead of annoyed and angry. I have used this facility for approximately seven years, with the fee starting at $95. Incremental increases escalated the monthly fee to $135, a 42% increase ! Located on the second floor, there have been ongoing issues with either the elevator and/or the garage door function. Though of late, "perhaps" labor issues/covid might be a reason for the lack of a fix, this was going on long before covid hit. Management was sympathetic, but there did not seem to be corporate support/concern. It was not until I raised the issue to corporate more than once, that a credit was issued, but still not fixed as of yesterday. Hopefully this gets to the right people so this facility can be brought to a proper standard.THOMAS G. | Overall Experience

During the reservation process it was communicated to me that there would be one month free storage for a one way rental and return at this location. I confirmed on the phone my reservation and when I went to return my truck and use my storage unit the employee told me that I didn't have a reservation. It took about half an hour additional on a busy moving day to get this unit set up. I wasn't able to then use my free month of storage so I was promised that the charge should be reversed "when my boss comes" as I had to pay up front. I never received a key card or pin to access the unit so I had to be asked to be let in. The garage door had a broken sensor so we were unable to close the door when we left. I called multiple times in the following weeks after I didn't receive my refund and was unable to get through to someone due to long wait times that I could not accommodate. When I did finally move out and asked the local facility about my refund of the charge on my credit card which was less than three weeks prior I was told "it was too late" to do anything about it. I understand I did not have a climate control unit but for the floor to be completely soaked with an oily greasy substance that caused mold on everything in my storage unit to the point where I had to throw everything away is a bit much. I don't know if they need to seal their doors better or get some sort of dehumidify thing system but all of the property was destroyed. The staff member on duty anytime I went was incredibly rude, like I was inconveniencing her for asking her to do her job. My things were in a 30 ft storage unit for 2 months ans were completely ruined after a lot of water got in. My things were riddled with mold. The doors had been changed 3 weeks prior to discovering the water and I was never notified of a problem. I would give an excellent rating but there was an equipment failure at the facility. The elevator on the Second level wouldn't work which is very inconvenient for me and I had to load the conveyor that was further away, twice, just to get to my storage unit. The manager was unable to initiate at pass card as the readers weren't working that day. She went above and beyond to help me and I thought she could really use more help. I can't say enough good things about this U-Haul office. My experience was just perfect. Both before and after I had my unit I stopped into the office a number of times to buy moving supplies, ask questions, etc. The staff at this U-Haul office is uniformly pleasant, well-informed, and helpful. They helped me make economical choices about packing materials, and gave me good advice on how to manage my daughter's upcoming move ... which may involve renting a U-Box. Couple of notes: 1. there was moisture in the storage area and cardboard boxes didn't hold up very well. Also - some fabric had mold due to the moisture and some furniture had a musty smell. 2. There was no lights inside the storage unit, so could only visit it during daylight hours. 3. Most of the staff were nice and helpful, however, were not well versed on UHaul's on-line systems. It took me a few months to figure out how to pay the rent on-line as the staff couldn't help me and I had to figure it out myself. 4. The gate to access the storage units was kept open during the day most of the times I visited in the summer. There was staff on hand, but no-one stopped to ask us for ID, etc. I understood that the unit was not climate controlled when I rented it, but did not know that dampness would be an issue and for that I would be reluctant to recommend to others.philip b. | Overall Experience

Our reserved unit was given away and we didn't find out until our shipping container arrived and we were without a unit. The elevator was almost alway broken. When you go to the office and inquire about when it would be fixed. Attitude is all you ever got. Not friendly ever. Front gate broken half the time. When checking out, And cleaning out my unit I swept up a lot of mice poop. Hope nothing is damaged. I asked about a partial refund since we paid for t full month on the ninth and checked out on the 18th. The lady said " well you have to contact corporate I think they may prorate". I have had this unit for almost 10 years never missed a payment never later on a payment, dealt with broken elevators and uncaring staff and I have to contact corporate for partial refund for the part of the month I didn't use??
