The service was great BUT the Trailer burnt out my entire wiring system. I had to go to Kia dealership to get entire wiring replaced. Apparently it's a common problem with uhaul trailers (as dealer stated). Have you had reports on this issue?? 3 hours got my wiring done and hauled the trailer without any additional problems.Thomas G.

i had to drive my self to pick up a part that was supposed to be there to tow the trailer i rented. i went to the other location to pick up the part and was told i had to wait for all the customers in front of me to pick up this part. i then said no way and had to go to Canadian Tire to buy the part i needed. so not a great experienceTimothy B.

Uhaul customer wait times on the phone or 8n any store us way too long. I waited over hour today to return a trailer. I waited almost an hour to pick up trailer, there must be a way to make uhaul more efficient. Every agent at this location, would stop and have to text co-workers the order, or text co-workers outside. Why are they using their own phones? How do I know that's what they are actually doing? Ot are we waiting so long because they use their personal cell phones all day? It doesn't seem very professional. My order was done online. Uhaul system would not allow me to upload drivers license. It's great you advertise check in online speed things up and your system doesn't work. I waited in line over hour yesterday but I reserved for 3pm. I didn't finish with agent until 4:30. But yet my return time was still 3pm. That doesn't seem fair when I ordered for 24hrs but I don't get full 24hrs with equipment. The other thing is why is there no one way uhaul anymore in Niagara? I should have been able to drop this trailer off in Brampton where I was moving to. Instead I spent 4hrs in traffic today to bring trailer back all the way to Niagara falls where I currently live. We need to move my son to Ottawa for school. I need to being truck back all the way to Niagara? But yet I'll be charged the kms for whole trip when I should leave truck in Ottawa and pay 1 way. I've been told it's because most uhaul equipment is 8n east coast. Then pay ppl to drive some trucks back to Ontario!! This is ridiculous to charge us more when we have no options to keep moving costs down now. I'd rather pay an actual moving company to move him as it would be same price as uhaul now. Ridiculous business practices, ive never been able to pick up or return equipment in reasonable time. It shouldn't take more than 39 mins from time customer walks in door. I think uhaul needs to install time clocks at each agents desk just like Tim Hortons. Something needs to be changed for better efficiency.Carlos S.

The ordering process was way too long without any explanation. The installation was fine except that I had to attend the site 3 times to figure out what the holdup was. I think your tech either punctured the exhaust system or did something else that cause a weird noise from the back end. I will check it out and inform you if there is any installation issues. Please be on notice for that eventuality. You do not pay the front line staff enough nor do you give them the logistical support they need. EVERY SINGLE PERSON I DEALT WITH AT THE LOCATION WAS PROFESSIONAL, knowledgeable and engaging. Spend more money on the front end the the quarterly results will reflect it.Steven M.

I would ask that returning equipment have a phone number to call if one accidently puts the keys in the drop box before taking pictures of the odometer/ locking the rear door, thus not being able to take pictures of the rear cargo area/ locked with padlock. I just hope that I do not get charged extra for not getting the proper guidance through the return of equipment. I would also like to say that under estimating my mileage at the contract stage resulted in a $60 charge on top of the rate I was originally charged for the van. I also filled up the gas tank with an eighth of a tank more than what I was supposed to fill to. I don't think I will get any rebate any billing for doing that. I would say that it isn't just this particular U-Haul location, but I would say that it is the entire business operations that is in question, thanks for nothing.Michael E.

- Police interventions on multiple occasions - Vast warehouse sized facility with dimly lit corridors - First floor storage 6' tall units not as large as advertised, all are partially blocked by sprinkler pipes and notices prohibiting stacking boxes above 4' 8" from the floor. I was disappointed at the length of time taken to install the hitch. My appointment was 7am, the technician did not arrive at work until around 7:20am. The hitch installation was completed by 9am when I was led to believe this was a 30-60min exercise (and the bill of sale indicated 30min of labour charged). The technician, although a nice guy, seemed disorganized and not appreciative of my time as I ended up being late for work due to the long install delay as well as delays in obtaining paperwork after payment. Nicole is awesome and was very helpful throughout this 'back order' process but the installation experience was 'underwhelming'.STEPHENJ B.

The only issue was I booked my truck pick up in St. Catharines. Then I get a call to get it in Niagara Falls. This ended up costing me an extra 45 dollars in kilometres and extra in fuel as I had to drive farther than originally planned and no compensation was ever offered.Scott W.

My reservation was booked 32 days before in my home city. I get a call 24 hours prior I have to drive 1 hour to Niagara to get the truck. They gave me a free day but cost me $100 extra in gas + gas. Also ABS light on and air conditioning intermittent.Johnny V.

Where do I even begin? First of all, this survey is shit. Don't ask if I liked a location. Ask if I liked the service. THAT is the kind of question that actually means something. Don't ask if I'd recommend this location, ask if I'd recommend U-Haul at all. Second, the person who took my original order was either drunk, high, or asleep. I'm not being rude either - he could barely get a sentence of 5 words without slurring his words, and he had to repeat himself several times. Eventually, he figured out what we wanted, then proceeded to tell us that he had booked our requested trailer (5x8 closed trailer) for eight days. Then, when I got to U-Haul to pick it up, I was told that I was being given a 4x8 open trailer for one day. Ol' mumble-bumble didn't get my order right after all. This resulted in me being on the phone with U-Haul for around FOUR HOURS trying to get a hold of traffic scheduling so that I could still have the trailer that I was promised for my journey. Too bad, though, because booking a trailer apparently means dick-all to this company. There was no way that U-Haul was going to give me the trailer I had requested and had asked for (and was told that I was getting). Eventually, a lady on the phone (I believe her name was Fay; I genuinely believed she was trying to help me) told me that my order was changed shortly after the initial submission. Yeah? Well, where the hell was my email telling me that you changed my order on me? Nowhere, that's where. How the hell can you justify changing someone's order on them without notifying them? Imagine if a restaurant did that? You'd never eat there again. Now, my nearly four hours of phone calls would've been sorted out much quicker had I been transferred to the traffic scheduling manager, Lucy, right away. Well, thanks to your dogshit system, I was disconnected multiple times while being transferred to her. How convenient. Oh, I guess I'll just call back and wait another hour on hold! No worries, U-Haul! I clearly have all the time in the world, and my 6:00pm deadline for getting a trailer isn't wasting away! Now, at long last, Lucy tells me that there's a closed trailer (4x7) in Niagara Falls. I should probably clarify at this point that I started my journey with the U-Haul on Welland Avenue in St. Catharines. Anyways, I go to Niagara Falls (Kent), and they tell me I'm getting their display trailer on the front lawn. I truly didn't mind this trailer...it had trouble closing on the one side, and I nearly broke two fingers trying to close it, but it did the job I needed it to do. However, once again, U-Haul's shithole of a system would decide that my time and sanity are worth nothing to them. I had to stay around an hour after closing because their computer system wouldn't book my trailer. Then, once booking finally went through, payments weren't working. Then, once payments started working, the price was 4x what it was advertised to be (I was told that "The Bubble" would cost $10 per night for the eight days I was renting it, but the price came to $330), and the worker couldn't change it. I didn't get her name, but I also got the sense that she actually cared as well. She apparently passed her driver's test in Oshawa shortly after...I'm happy for her. Anyways, this worker tells me that she acknowledged that the price of $330 was insane, but the system wasn't allowing her to fix it. So, she told me to just take the trailer and we'd get the payment sorted out when I returned from my camping trip up north (which I told them I was doing, hence the necessity of a closed trailer). She assured me that she'd get me the $10 a day for eight days that I was promised. Hah. After returning, I had a quick drop-off at the Niagara Falls site. The guy doing returns (who was also there after hours during the whole ordering ordeal) double checks everything and makes sure that all is well. He then pulls out the debit machine for me to pay with and says that my price is about $150. Again, what happened to the $10 a day for eight days? "Oh," he says, "that only applies for in-town rentals. The price for taking it up north comes to more than that." Well, thank goodness that not a freaking soul bothered to mention that to me until that moment. At this point, I was so done with dealing with this company that I had no shits to give about the price difference. I paid the fee, left, then I told myself that: 1. The day that U-Haul gets a competitor for trailer rentals, they are going to never get another customer; 2. If I can help it, I will never rent another trailer from U-Haul again.Daniel V.

1) upon booking I was told I had a unit that was only a couple stairs up from ground level. It was a full flight of stairs 2) the billing process is Completely ridiculous. For starters when my first bill was due I never received any notification nor was my credit card charged. Upon receiving a letter at my house weeks later I was told I was being charged a non-payment fee. I explained that this was unacceptable as I have not been notified via mail, email or telephone that there was an issue with payment. I checked my credit card history and an attempt was never even made. I didn't had to argue to have them removed delete payment fee. Which they eventually did. 3) for whatever reason it was impossible for them to correspond with me via email. I was then told that it must be my email address that was the problem. This is not a problem I use this for personal and business email every single day and I've never had an issue outside of the issue with U-Haul. 4) It wasn't until the final two months that I used the unit did I receive any sort of email or paper invoice from uhaul. Two invoice forms. 5) while helping a friend move some items into a different storage unit at the same U-Haul facility, I checked on my unit. I found that some of my furniture was wet and also stained with water damage. I spoke to the front desk and also to the manager of the store. He told me there was nothing that could be done as he didn't have any notice of a leak in that area. I explained that this was his notice that he must have a leak somewhere in that area as my items which were moved in in November somehow got wet and mouldy between then and April. I was told that because I did not buy insurance I was out of luck. This is completely unacceptable I should not have to buy insurance to protect my goods from a facility that is supposed to me be maintained. As far as I'm concerned this is a stain on the U-Haul name. It seems that U-Haul sells itself on its customer service, quality of facility and ease of use. My experience does not reflect that. I am now out $400 of which the furniture cost, the $40 in dump loads because I had to throw it all out, and the close to $100 a month and I paid between December and June. I rented a 5' x 5' x 6' storage locker for May 3. I arrived May 4 to discover the space contains a low hanging sprinkler pipe and warning tape on all three walls prohibiting users from filling it above the marker line.. . which is located just 56" inches from the floor. Effectively, there is just 4'8" of usable space, NOT six feet as advertised. This represents a loss of 41.5 square feet of storage. As a result I was unable to fit all my possessions in this clearly much smaller space and had to find an alternative storage solution for the remaining items. To represent this locker as a 5' x 5' x 6' storage given the interior stacking limitations is completely misleading. One might say it could be considered false advertising. I did not have this problem at the Milton UHaul facility and am now in a position where I have to keep two separate rental spaces in different locations at more cost until this problem is resolved.Laurie E. | First Impressions

The guy jacob or whatever his name was, was not friendly at all. And if I didn't have my stuff with me ready to move in, I would have found another storage. First, he talked very condescending, this was my first time in the facility and when I asked him where to go, his comment was, ''obviously, its this way down the hall.''. Who talks to customers like that? The word obviously should not be in someone's vocabulary who is in customer service. And then I wanted to add my spouse to the storage and he gave me a hard time about doing that, because my spouse was in another country. Once my spouse called on the phone and requested a manager, then all of a sudden, it wasn't a problem. 1. Not permitting partial payments when people are struggling is ridiculous. That is NOT working with your customer. 2. A couple of staff (Chris and Aleisha) were wonderful but the service recently went down hill. The new Manager, Matthew, was not friendly, easy to deal with, and derogatory to his staff. We were disgusted. 3. If you can remember to place locks on unpaid lockers THE DAY AFTER PAYMENT IS DUE, then surley uou can remember REMOVE IT WHEN THE BILL IS PAID.Heather H. | Overall Experience
