We reserved a truck at a specific location for first available pickup. We were notified approximately 12 hrs prior to pick up that the equipment was no longer available at the requested location. We were then given a new pickup location. Upon arrival to the new location, we were told again that the equipment was not available. The associate on site was able to find us the previously reserved equipment at, yet again, another location. At the end of the day, we were stalled 4+ hours and docked approximately $30 more than we anticipated. This was not a pleasant experience. Additionally, I will mention that I have previously worked for Uhual- that being said, our most recent experience is no where near the standard I would expect.COURTNEY J.

It wasn't this locations fault but someone needs to communicate better with customers when locations are changed from the original quote. The truck I reserved was not at the correct location and no one called me to let me know so I was behind schedule and had to drive extra miles because no one called me to let me know the truck was moved to a different location. I reserved a U Haul near me a month in advance two days before pick up I got a call they couldn't find what I asked for so after sitting on the for almost 20mins the lady found one at a different location i was told they would change my mileage rate(my management apon return) and it didn't happen then after returned to U Haul put gas in it I was charged for more gas and was told my mileage should have been done when I picked it up I asked for the guy who helped I was told he wasn't coming in that day four hours after I returned the U Haul I got a call saying the U Haul hadn't been returned I asked the man to check his Camara I been returned it backed it in I asked again about my refund I was asked for my name and number and someone would get back to me two days later still no callHinetha B.

When we arrived Tuesday night just before close they were nice and I returned the auto transport. The facility was to small to leave the two trucks till morning when we could unload into our two reserved units that would also be free for the first month. In the morning when we got there they informed me that they did not have the units that were reserved for us. He said he only had one 5x10 and 10x10. We needed a 10x10 and a 10x20. So then I had to search for a local self storage facility that would have the two units we needed and pay 287.00 and I lost half a day looking for that. The trucks and auto transport ran great with no problems from maine to North Carolina, worker at this facility were nice and friendly but could not come thought with what 1-800-go-u-haul had reserved for us making the move even more stressful and costly.PATRICK M.

Please Improve Customer service staff other than the one who waited on me. Just something wrong with the relationship between management, and staff. Management is very intimidating but I don't have to work for him so I was able to ignore his attitude and his lack of concern. Everyone had on mask except for him. I told him I was uncomfortable about that due to asthma. What made it even worse is the small office, renovation going on, too many people, and the managers coughing! The VIRUS IS STILL AROUND! He did NOT care! I was charged 3xs the quote, and not even made aware at the time. I complained about the brakes that almost killed me by NOT WORKING! They could care less! The truck was dirty, latches were not secured. Windows were very noisy when driving due to bad door seals. The truck seat belt would not stay latched and would randomly unbuckle when driving. Equipment was clean, but vehicle drove poorly. There was no walk through to check out the truck when I picked it up. It wasn't explained to me what I needed to do with the app prior to driving away. When I noticed the truck drove very rocky 1 minute down the road the app popped up asking me to do a check out. By the time I was down the road the app would not work because the time had expired. I was relieved that I had purchased the insurance so I wouldn't be charged for someone else's damage because I was unable to do a walk through prior to picking up the truck. It was difficult to contact someone to let them know I had actually returned the truck. I was not able to use the phone app. Every 800# that I was transferred to took about 20 minutes. I had to cal and be transferred to about four 800#'s. I finally reached Angel at the 800-789-3638 number to let her know. She was very nice. I was charged for an extra day of service. Even though I returned to truck 1 day early. Angel said the refund should appear back on my credit card in about 4 days. Angel was helpful, but the 800 numbers took way too long to get a response.Veronica H.

Overall, this whole trip was a Cluster F***. I called from the airport to book a Pick up Truck and car dolly to drive across the country 1 way with my son who just got out of the Marines. The 1800UHAUL lady said I was confirmed on contract 85982684. When I called the branch about pickup, Rene told me that I only had a Car Dolly and NO TRUCK, the person had messed up. We called the 1800UHAUL again and got Jonathan and he found the mistake ad booked us a 10' at the 425S Marine Blvd location, Isabelle was great. Jonathan was intelligent and useful. He got us a bit of a discount on the truck and trailer which was appreciated. All 3 of the branches we worked with were professional and useful. The issues were never with them, but with the corporate stuff and the amount of time spend on hold ...probably about 120 minutes total for the trip. The whole booking mistake cost us almost an entire day of driving while we worked through to a solution. Sadly, the tow dolly had tires that were more than 10 years old and we almost had a blow out in Nevada, tread was de-laminating from the tire and would not have lasted long. We then spent hours on hold again with Road Side Assistance waiting for the guy to show. The Service guy finally showed up 3 hours after his initial 90 minute eta. I would give CMC Tire in the Reno area an ass chewing if I were you...they made you guys look really bad. This delayed our trip over 6 hours, allowing a winter storm to close the pass in the Truckee, CA area once again lengthening our trip by a day. Again more time spent on hold with Road Side Assistance(you really gotta fix that!), and they were able to secure us a room and supposedly Dinner although I have not figured that part out yet. For what its worth, all of the ladies that we spoke to on Road side assistance...and there were many, were all pretty good, Morgan, Amy, Susan, and several others I can't remember. Overall, this trip was very dissatisfying, largely caused by the incompetence of the initial woman that took my first call and CMC Tire. The local branch people, Jonathan and the understanding of your road side assistance(once I got them on the phone) are only reasons I am not making a big deal out of this.Jonah C.

I did get incorrect information, was told I would get a month free when asking about the prices and when I came back to rent was told that was only for one way rentals. The sales person also rented me a van for the day and so knew I was not a one-way rental. It would have been good to have been given a discount bc if this mistake since it factored into me choosing to use the storage. Also was not told that I could only access storage unit during business hours. I found this out when I was there selling something from the unit and the employee came to tell me they were closing and I would not have access. This would have been useful to know up front.
