Forcing and bullying a contact to be on the contract in the event Uhaul is unable to reach me is ludicrous IMO! I am completely the one that is to be responsible for my rental and forcing me and than forcing to verify this contact before I can be â€œapprovedâ€ for the rental, makes zero sense, since, said â€œcontactâ€ has zero obligation to begin withâ€¦WTF. I was over charged by the staff that didn't clearly explain that if I said I would maybe return a 24hour rental the same day by 6 but was returned st 9pm I would get charged a whole extra day for 3 hours but it was still within the 24hour period and lied when they told me it was 39 cents per mile after 100 miles but I was charged 89 cent per mile for the whole 140 miles I think that's is shady and don't appreciate getting treated like that.JOSHUA R.

I rented reusable moving boxes. I asked if they were clean and the Hitch guy, who was loading them, said just the top one was dusty and that I could wipe it. Only after making 2 trips home to move all them did I realize they were covered in grease, dirt, dust and tons of dog hair. I brought them back (2 more trips) cleaned out my car while they cleaned the boxes. One hard working guy got stuck with the task. 3 hours after I got there I was headed home with my rental. Before I left I let them know that in a 3 days I had another rental for more and that I would like to have them clean prior to my pick up time. You'd think they'd learn, NO. They were just as nasty as the others and I had to wait for them to be cleaned again!Laura P.

Complete nightmare! Storage unit that I rented was already locked and occupied and the reason the next day given was it was a glitch in your system. We called the general manager to advise of the issue and was told there was nothing that could be done Sunday evening so I had to drive truck back home. I called the owner of the company and left a message and still have yet to hear from him after leaving detailed gripe. I moved my stuff to my storage Sunday evening and was not able to unload my rental truck and received no help until the next day. The worst service I've ever encountered with a truck rental and storage facility. I had to take off of work the next day losing a day's pay to resolve the issues caused by your company and I am extremely unhappy with your service and will comment on yelp as I always do with "terrible" customer service. Customer service representative was poor. I asked if there was any sort of discounts for military members since I am deployed and needed a place to place my stuff since we no longer have a house in San Diego. The representative said no they can't do anything for me even though I let him know I could send him proof I am active duty and my wife had her dependent ID. And I couldn't believe all the supplies that were available to help me in my transition with the move. I also appreciated the use of your cart. This location assisted with my disaster moving experience with UHUAL. I WILL NEVER be utilizing this company ever again due to my experience. Horrific customer service (with exception to this location). I drove 2 hours to pick up my items from my ubox and was told 10 min before arriving that my box wasn't ready despite having a confirmation date and time to pick up my items. No one is one the same page. Just one example, currently dealing with insurance company who was prepared with a loophole for not being held liable of some items being broken during my move. BEWARE if you choose to get insurance expecting to be covered for your item, they may hit you with "just so you are aware, we do not cover items damaged that may have got damaged due to shifting during movement of the boxes" smh. My original booking was not at this location. I was called the night before and told that the location had changed. This was extremely inconvenient seeing as I had planned to walk to the location. The location I was switched to were very good and helpful, but I was not impressed with the change at the last minute. I would like to make mention of two workers who went above and beyond with my experience at this UHaul. Aedelbert and Josh were able to accommodate and assist me with the hooking up of my 6x12 trailer which I was renting. However, they did not only hook it up, but Aedelbert noticed the trailer sat a bit low to the ground before my departure so he offered to flip the ball on my hitch to allow for more ground clearance. Upon my returning of the equipment, Josh was able to help me to the best of his ability and accommodated me for a quick and efficient return, despite some power line maintenance going on in their main lot. No one is competent enough to help because three people and counting were unable to locate my box. While I've been on hold for over an hour, your recording says you can update your reservation online. This is false, you cannot. So this only infuriates your customers more. The returning address employees are incompetent and negligent. They lost the uhaul truck and notified me that the keys and truck were missing and assumed that we did NOT return the truck when we returned it the same day we picked it up in the evening 5:52pm. The truck was in the back of the lot all along and the employees were too lazy to do their jobs and go to the back of the lot to check the turn in box for the keys and contract. My husband fortunately recorded himself dropping off the keys and contract. It wasn't until I told them to check their security footage to the specific time We dropped it off to confirm the drop off did they FINALLY find the truck and keys. It was an awful unpleasant experience to be woken up to this asinine behavior. Left a bitter taste in my mouth too early in the morning. DO NOT TRUST UHAUL TO DO THEIR JOB!William H.

The self-service pick up process was complicated. The alternate contact verification process caused us a delay. This is something that would be more efficient if done beforehand rather than at the location. Also, the directions told us to look for the lock box on the back of the truck... the lock box was NOT on the back of the truck; they were at near the entrance to the lobby building. It also said #8, which was the number on the lock itself, but as a customer, I'm looking at the box number (because it's bigger and more noticeable), not the lock number.Brian S.

Customer service is a nightmare. It is next to impossible to reach the appropriate person. There is no direct line for anything & reps will transfer you over and over again before you actually reach the appropriate person. I also called back to confirm my delivery after sitting on hold for an hour only to be told I never confirmed my delivery and would not receive my box during the specified window. Any â€œguaranteeâ€ set by uhaul was not met. Ubox arrived in CA 7 days after GAD. Still have not received refund. Ubox was supposed to be delivered between 9am-12pm & wasn't delivered until 1:30pm. I was also charged extra months rent which has yet to be refunded because uhaul didn't deliver by the GAD causing our rental to extend over a month. This was at no fault of our own & we should not be expected to pay this.Heather P.

I stored my things at this facility for 2 years and after a year the manager gave me a 25% discount because I'd been there a year and it was when covid started so that was very nice. When management changed I for an email that said they would not be offering that discount any longer. I asked why and they said because they have a new manager and he doesn't want to honor it. I was pretty upset. I told them I would leaving the facility and I was told that I would have to get my stuff out before the next bill due date or o would be charged for another months even though it was going to be only 2 days past my due date. I reserved a uhaul truck to remover my things and when I got there I was told that I would have to provide a phone number of someone I know that wasn't with me to be able to get in touch with someone I'd I stold the truck! She said that they get a lot of trucks stolen from that area, National city, and that is a policy there. She said that they would HAVE to be able to tak to someone and if they didn't answer the call I would have to give them another number for someone else! I was so upset to be accused and called a thief but now on a Saturday morning at 7am they want to disturb someone I know who doesn't even know anything about my move to verify they know me and will be contacting them in case I steal a 15foot uhaul truck!?! The woman at the front was very rude and highly unprofessional she does not know how to explain policies without accusing or offending a long time customer. After I told her how ridiculous this was she said or my manager can sign off on it. I said ok I would like to tak to your manager he came out and was very aloof and didn't seem to care about anything and he said the same thing until I said but she just said you could sign off on this and then he said "ok" and then walked away!!! After getting the truck i was told it was ready and it had the keys in it so my son took it and went to the back to start unloading my things and then an associate parked behind my car with another uhaul truck and said this is your truck. I said that we already have our truck but he literally could not understand what I was saying and when he finally got it he said I will walk over there and drive the truck back to the front and as he walks away he said very loudly the F word very angrily!!! Unbelievable! It also did not have the dolly that I rented either and when I went back in to tell them the same woman said just Take one that is displayed in the front outside, very unorganized and not helpful at all. So part of my experience at this location was great with the old manager. They are now very unorganized and don't care about their customers. I am so glad I am not giving them any more of my money. Had a very hard time contacting the office to check out and the online checkout didn't work, so my checkout got processed late. Tried to contact multiple times to find out if I needed to check out before a certain date to not get charged for the following month or if they would prorate. Got charged an extra month because I never got an answer and when I finally went to get my stuff out the elevator was broken. Asked for a money back on for this month as I am moved out was told someone would get back to me and still have yet to hear anything. Terrible customer service, yet this would be very to rectify. We had to wait in a long line to check in, which seems counter-intuitive since you advertise 24-7 storage rent and check in, and since we are living in covid time. The person who helped us kept removing their mask while we were checking in. Not safe!!! We were charged for a lock but when we got to the storage unit there was a welcome packet, including a lock, in the space. I get to the storage they reserved in exchange, it has a lock after 30 min someone breaks the lock and is filled with trash ..
