The trucks are always very dirty and dusty inside. The outside is washed down. Staff is very nice and helpful at this location. I've recently booked another truck and they changed the size I booked from 20' to 15' very unacceptable!Marylou C.

The contract had i higher fuel level than actual. We video taped and photographed walk around including fuel gauge with km. we didn't notice difference during initial checkout. took picture to counter upon return and they out right lied saying picture was same as contract. cost 35 in gas to go 15 km. Another customer. checking out when we were coming back had to have uhaul correct fuel on their contract. this is a scam that likely having fuel marked up on every rental. we will make this known on social media as to make future customers aware.CAROL H.

All good, except the process of trying to connect with this location via the call centre. THAT took forever, including multiple â€œanswersâ€ from other locations across the country, and multiple attempts to transfer to the correct location. That process was pretty frustrating.Andrea C.

The mobile pick up was extremely frustrating and took nearly 30 minutes. When you book, in the confirmation email it should state explicitly that you will need additional info for the driver (passport, alternate contact etc). We had no idea we would need this. Both myself and my husband were on the rental reservation so we could not use our phone numbers. We had to chat online for 15 minutes, call a family member, put their number down and then U-Haul called her. Your confirmation email should state the additional info you will need. It should also state that mobile pick up is unavailable if the location is not yet open.Leon P.

Charged me $800 for a scratch on the top of the truck. A witness said the same happened to a lady before me. I-haul staff was rude and unprofessional. How did they come up with $800 of damage. Are they ICBC adjusters. I will not pay for this this. It's a SCAM to grab money and they wouldn't even buff up the scratch.Lenka R.
I waited One hour in a lineup defined out my truck had been stolen and they didn't have a truck for me then I find out that management screwed up my order I was not one bit impressed I had to go to North Vancouver to pick up my truck and return the truck to north Vancouver.. I had ordered one piece of critical equipment that was not in the truck when i picked up the truck via the mobile App - a moving dolly! I was moving my 80 year old mother, therefore a moving dolly was critical as she cannot help move things. I find it was inexcusable for the location not to have put a dolly in the truck when one was clearly ordered. I could not wait for the office to open to get one because my mothers elevators were booked for a specific time. When someone is counting on having certain equipment when they order it months in advance, you need to provide it! This is my reason for giving you a below average rating. I'd clarify that when you mean the dimensions of a truck can differ slightly--be more specific. A few inches can make a huge difference in a move. I'd anticipated a few cm difference. Plus you did not mention wheel wells making it impossible to bring one of the couches.Jared M.

I have a picture of my gas being left at the same as the paperwork and they still charged me for gas. I am so Unhappy I will never recommend uhaul again and will just rent a truck for the exact same price with no hidden feesKendall H.
We've used U-haul for three trips and none of those experiences have been great, but the North Vancouver location gave us the best service (ie the truck was at the location, on time, and we didn't have to drive hours to pick it up). However the inside of the truck was filthy when we received it. It was moving day and we had lots on our minds - we didnt realize the state of the vehicle until we were on the road. Additionally, a Uhaul disc lock we had purchased for a previous move didn't fit on this particular truck of the same size so we had to purchase a new one.Cynthia B.

The staff in the lot were very friendly and helpful. Nice guys. The truck was cleaned but not thoroughly. It looked like the truck had been returned very dirty by a previous renter and an attempt was made to clean but not enough. The truck had also been smoked in and the heavy smokey residual smell aggravated my allergies. The truck stunk. Other than that I was a great rental. Was perfect for my needs. Not this location but at another one (Davie St), I had booked a pick up time for 8:30am using your online pickup. When I went there my truck was in the lot however it was returned late, and I was told I would unable to get the truck until 10am. I was only made aware of this as I was checking in at 8:20. Even my reservation online said 830, until I selected pick up my truck and it said I had to wait until the store opened at 10am. After calling for help I was given the same truck at a location 30 mins away. If I was given some notice of this I could have made alternate arrangements. I was in a time crunch as I was moving from a building where the elevator had to be rented and having to drive an extra hour to receive the truck I reserved was a major inconvenience and disappointment. Overall I am very upset with uhaul and will choose any other company in the future.Kayla K.

Two factor login did not work, so could not rent van via phone. Van appeared in good mechanical condition, but cargo space was dirty and had not even been swept out - scrap paper and metal on cargo floor. When returning vehicle staff prioritized selling propane for BBQ over returning vehicle even though person wanting propane arrived after vehicle being returned.David D.

Ratchet mechanisms dirty, rusty and difficult to use. A little cleaning and lubrication would solve this. Trailer performed as expected but needs maintenance and some paint.Frank G.
Had signed up for truck service 24/7, but when I got to the location the online portal did not work to pick up the keys. I spent 20 minutes trying to call customer service without much help, as it was after business hours. Luckily one of the staff members was still on site and fixed the issue. I didn't get his name but he gave excellent service and extended my time. All the same this should not have happened and I was lucky there was someone there.Shane G.

Stairs only, no elevator. The passcode I was emailed is incorrect and I was given a card and it doesn't work. I was told on my second visit not to worry about the security code and just walk up the stairs . When it comes to the actual check in for the storage unit, everything was fine. But the problem was that I also rented the uhaul van because I was moving. I was informed the morning of my move that the van is no longer available. They switched me to the pickup truck. I called uhaul and said that I can't use the pickup truck, as it's too small for some of my furniture and it was going to pour rain all afternoon. I canceled the pickup truck (and the rest of my day was a nightmare as I scrambled to find ways to move my things) and asked for the $50 I get if my rented vehicle isn't available. The woman on the phone said that I couldn't get the $50 because they're offering me the pickup. She was argumentative and dismissive. She eventually agreed that I should get the $50 but she was rude. If you look at my file, she's the one that canceled my rental of the pickup truck. I recommend you listen to that tape.Ryan C. | First Impressions

They have no respect for their storage at this facility. They literally BLOCK ACCESS to the storage by parking large trucks all around it!! There's ALWAYS a truck close to the storage where the staff is unloading stuff from it. Also on a side note, I once called this location from home. I was on hold for 20 minutes so I decided to drive up to the location... 15 mins later I get there, and I'm still on hold on the phone. There were no one in the office but the front desk person... he had the phone up so it doesn't ring... I'm like why don't u answer the phone... I've been on hold for like 35 mins. He's like this thing rings too much... I need a break from it... unbelievable how rude he was. I tell you, this is one of the worst managed uhaul locations U can ignore this, or do something about it. Go undercover if u have too... the level of crap your customers have to put up with in this location is unreal. Unprofessional. Do u want them carrying the uhaul name with such disrespect? This Uhaul experience is the most unexpected in a negative way. Firstly, the Uhaul Manager requests me to pay a $710.11 towing fee that I never order, and I never observe the towing service. It was extortion. The towing fee bill the not bill to Uhaul or a bill to myself. It was billed to a non-related third party, except has the truck that I rented's information. Many people rent that truck from time to time. I never request a towing service or observe a towing service. A towing service during the rental period also covered under the insurance contract as well. Uhaul has its own towing service under the contract if towing required. The Uhaul store manager said he paid the towing fee to a third party, so he needed to be charged to my account. It is unreasonable. I suggest the manager. I am afraid a third party was playing the game behind the scene for the sole purpose of financial gain. The RCMP and related organizations needs to investigate this type of Economic crime that takes advantage of the business and innocent people for the sole purpose of organized crime's financial gain.Emily Y. | Overall Experience
I had an emergency to leave where I lived..I had looked for 4 hours for a rental van. I came upon Uhaul main st. They were so helpful and supportive. Immediately, I had a rental van and a locker. I moved out because there was mouse poop all over my unit and stuff with absolutely no food or traces of food anywhere in my unit. It didn't get into any of my stuff after inspection, but poop was everywhere. I spoke with the manager and he didn't really have anything to say about it, very much a "what do you want me to do about it" mentality. I asked for help cleaning it up as I didn't have proper cleaning supplies and mouse poop is really dangerous for women to clean without proper protection, and the person he sent just wiped it off with a rag onto other stuff in my unit. One blanket needed to be thrown out because it was coated too much for me to feel comfortable to get it home to wash it. One lady, who was wonderful, apologized several times for it, but the manager didn't seem bothered. I moved my stuff out the next day because I had some very expensive books, furniture and linens that I cannot risk vermin ruining. The manager telling me that he'll clean the floors with peppermint oil more frequently to keep them away wasn't comforting and clearly not working.Stephanie B. | Overall Experience

I had a storage space at this location for about five years. In that time my monthly rent rose by more than 20%, which seems rather steep. My biggest issue is getting access onsite with a vehicle. Beings as it is a truck rental location the lot is very congested and it became highly inconvenient to gain access to the storage entry.
