Overall I have found the Uhaul stores I've rented from to be very accommodating and the staff helpful. I was quite impressed with professionalism of their staff especially the manager Michael. He was taking over the management at this facility and had many problems to handle. But that didn't stop him from helping customers when his staff was busy. I'd highly recommend this Uhaul to anyone living near Murietta. California.Katherine F.

We had to wait a very long time to get processed, there was a lot of confusion behind the counter, and then it turned out the ubox marked for us was on the wrong trailer or was full (it wasn't fully explained to us) and then when we returned the truck and ubox/trailer, we found out that the ubox was not appropriately attached to the trailer so it could have fallen off.Joshua F.

I am not going back in this place because of the fact that I was over charged for a dolly I know for a fact I returned. I heard it fall over when I drove the two milesfrom my storage, after I swept around it and moved it. And the app didn't work so I went inside. The lady assisting me stated that if the truck is parked in the return lane I would be emailed a final receipt. Sooo this other dude says well let's go check it..... I was trying to catch my ride so I assumed that they were professional but that wasn't the case. I am charged two times for completely different prices and one bill has a $190 missing dolley fee..... ipaidso much to use it for onetime and now they say I owe because they couldn't lookin the right truck and now I can't pay my worker and would have been overdrawn if I didn't beg,y customer for an advance. That makes me look very bad .... I am very dissatisfied with the customer care and efficiency to remedy my issue.Stephen A.

***LONG REVIEW ALERT*** This is always our go-to location in So-Cal/Riverside County. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the facilities are conveniently located and always clean. This location is typically well-staffed and the team is very knowledgeable with standard/advanced services offered. This section of my review does NOT necessarily reflect this particular location directly, however, I want to note this information for the record because it is part of my experience and I'd like someone to be held accountable for the issues incurred or direct me to where I can file a formal complaint. Long story short, I was told by the scheduling/customer service center that I could not drop off at this location (which again is always my preferred/requested location) â€œbecause this U-Haul Center is always full and will not have room to receive the rented truck plus auto tow." Therefore, we were assigned to drop off at the Guava Street location in Murrieta, CA. When we arrived to the Guava St. location, the store manager would not allow us on the premises initially because her location "does not accept tow rentals." I showed her the email and text confirmations that clearly stated this was our assigned drop off center and that was the only reason she volunteered to assist us in finding where we should be directed. Mind you, we just drove for 3-days across country, a 15-foot truck with my vehicle on an auto tow and we are in a tight space. It is difficult to back up IF you are not experienced in maneuvering the auto tow attached to the truck. We did not want to get stuck in the parking lot so we had to block the driveway in the middle of the street while we waited for the manager to call her command center. When she finally got in touch with someone, they realized that they sent us to the wrong U-Haul center, so we had to creatively figure out how to get the truck and tow/vehicle out of this area and safely turn it around, at which point we were allowed on the premises to accomplish this. We were then sent to a location not too far from this one on Jefferson Avenue, for which the manager claimed was "her dealer" and reassured us that they would be able to remove the tow with no problem. When we arrived, we spoke with Zack, who seemed ready and willing to remove the tow. He asked us to allow him to pull the truck to the back, where he would disconnect the equipment. He was accompanied by an older male, who waited for him in a vehicle in front of the store, while he assisted us. He announced this gentlemen as being â€œa friend who was hangin' out with him for the day.â€ For whatever reason, he went back into the U-Haul store for a few moments and when he returned, he was adamant about NOT having the authority to remove the auto tow because he didn't want to be "held liable or get in trouble." He REPEATEDLY told us that he has been given strict direction from his GM NOT to remove the tow and that he could NOT drive our vehicle from it. We had no problem driving the vehicle off the tow, as we were responsible for driving it onto the tow to begin with (at the location we picked it up from). However, in order to drive the vehicle off the tow, we would need to FIRST have him disconnect the equipment (i.e. chains attached to the axles, ropes on the tires, etc.). Zack absolutely REFUSED AND had the audacity to tell us that he would instruct us how to lay on the ground, and get underneath the car to do it ourselves! The nerve! I was infuriated! The fact that (1) This is totally unsafe and unprofessional (2) I am a mid-aged women with previous back and knee injuries (3) I am NOT the expert in this area (4) I should not be held responsible for disconnecting equipment U-Haul connected in the first place AND (5) He was willing when we arrived, then said it was â€œagainst policy.â€ After going back and forth with Zack to make a reasonable compromise, which was a waste of time, as his answer remained the same, we asked to speak with his GM directly. Conveniently, his GM "just left and wouldn't be back until tomorrow." So we contacted U-Haul Customer Service and the Rep we spoke with (can't recall her name at this time) said it is absolutely NOT against policy to disconnect the auto tow. It is only against policy to drive the customer's vehicle off of the tow. However, she could not get Zack to understand or comply with this, so she transferred us to a dispatcher (Brittany) who was very helpful and concerned about the situation, so she then called Roadside Service to assist us on the premises! Meanwhile, we have 1 hour prior to closing of all locations in this area. Miraculously, Zack had an idea! Hmmm. . .I bet you did Zack! I'm sure your idea had a little something to do with us getting everyone involved who was willing to assist us and this would reflect badly on you. So, he decides it would be helpful to contact the other Jefferson location, the one we preferred and requested in the first place, as they would be able to assist us â€œfor sure.â€ So, he called this location and transferred our reservation there. We then drove over to the third location, explained what had taken place so far and they removed the tow from the truck with NO hesitation or questions asked AND for the first time, apologized for ALL of the inconveniences. THANK YOU SO MUCH Humi and Jeremy for your help and humor, kindness and professionalism! We also appreciate Richard for checking the truck in. :-) Two days later however, we received a call from Drew the manager at this location, who called wondering why I had not returned the equipment. I gave him an earful and he assured me that he would check the inventory and didn't want me to "worry about anything else." Well. . . Wouldn't you check the inventory BEFORE calling the customer and questioning where the equipment is or causing more concern? I'm just sayin. . .Maybe it's just me! Anyhow, this has been quite THE EXPERIENCE and I needed to express it in writing so that others would be aware and make an informed decision, but most importantly, so that it is documented for the record that this was unacceptable. After going through such a major headache and hassle, I should be accommodated in some way and having U-Haul offer compensation would be a great place to start. The truck alone was $2700 to rent because, to make matters worse, U-Haul canceled my original reservation for $1695 and rather than admitting to their mistake and honoring the rate of the initial reservation, they made me make a NEW reservation and essentially, I was penalized for their error and had to pay the difference. Re-Damn-Diculous and straight up Non-Sense! In the words of â€œByrd Manâ€ making an a$$ of himself, â€œI'm finish and I'm done!â€ SMH!!!Catrina C.

I had paid the day before $80 something, when I go in the next day to pick up the truck they had me pay another $60 or something. There reason was for gas expenses like a discount the day before but I didn't have reservations the day before. And the blonde headed female here was so unprofessional, the management was terrible who gave these employees work under them as well. I shouldn't have to wait 1 hours to have this situation handled. And I shouldn't have had to pay more out of pocket when it's there employees fault, it was a terrible experience and I would never recommend anyone to go to this location.Kambiz N.

The navigation around the complex has always been problematic. The staging of trucks, pods, on one way access and exit roads and the what can only be described as pac-man maze To get in and get out, to and from storage. A couple time one must take car off-road (rocks) to leave and get in to the only side entrance to storage building, and the narrow opening to get vehicles - including small to medium moving boxes trucks could be risky for the new renters if box. Staging empty trailers in or near the two or three retail parking is not ideal. I watched a small car back in to a bumper-level tripod holding neck, knocking it off To hit the ground, When moving out of a unit it would be "friendly" to offer a store credit to offset proration that isn't returned when checking out a couple weeks early. It's a common practice elsewhere but u-haul is the leader. When paying rent in advance it is a nice incentive to pay for 12 and get the 13 month equivalent credit. However, my experience it required intervention and reminders by me to assure the credit was taken and transparent. I'd rent again and location is ideal for area. The staff at the Uhaul location were helpful. However I am very dissatisfied with the company reservation policy. I provided my credit card info and move in date when I placed the reservation over the phone with customer service over the phone. They explained that this will reserve my unit that they said was available. When I went to the Uhaul site to check my storage unit and finalize payment for my reservation the unit was not even available! I was told it was just a waiting list not an actual reservation. My rating is not about the people at the facility but rather that U-Haul overbooked the storage facility and our space was not available when we got there. We had helpers hired and were paying them while a resolution was sought. They called the next closest facility but the space wasn't as large and we couldn't fit all our items into it. They didn't have a smaller unit so we had to rent another one elsewhere. We were late to an appointment because of all the extra travel time. Fantastic! This place is absolutely amazing, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The facility is very convenient. The unloading area is shaded, and the facility itself is air conditioned. Dollies make taking boxes and heavy items to the storage locker a breeze, and the stairs to the second level are minimal. They scammed me! Charged me for storage when I told them I did not want storage! Extra $129.95 and lied to me!!! I disputed the "extra charge" with my bank. Andrew at Murrieta,Ca location (Manager) Lied said he would not do a credit for it. Said he would send me to collections if I disputed it! Very horrible customer service!!!! I run a business and if Andrew worked for me he would be fired. Total charges one way trip 24 hrs. Just for a 10' $19.95 truck they charged $330.00? Outrageous!!! I will never recommend them!! Only issue was access. If there weren't any return rental vehicles blocking the main driveway, access would have been a bit easier to figure out.
