Amanda was helpfull, the mgr melissa has ego issues and is a pestilence of a mafia collector, 2 emails and a text everyday over a few weeks late payment of $160. !!! She was informed that i would pay out and vacate the unit but still persisted in harassment, My sister is in a recovery period from some traumas and has her bi polar ocd triggered over this stupid storage unit administrator.. Every day for months!! Money is tight and everyone else seems to know there can be delays in payments… I plan to voice my complaints up the chain.. Plus i called in advance, I asked for the counterman to give me access as i had 4 people standing in 24* weather staged to load out.. It took another trip to the office and 35 mins of my time to gain access.. No card reader function, broken intercom and no direct phone contact, got stuck in que and spoke to mesa az!! While waiting to get door with cameras on it open??? Your 5x10' closet is too exspencive…

We were told to fill the tank up to the place it was upon our arrival (which we did). We were then billed an additional 25 dollars for gas even though WE filled up the truck. We drove from Middletown to Nanuet/New City with no food and no drinks or cigarettes yet we were charged for cleaning the vehicle. I will not be using u- haul again.

The smell of u cabin was disgusting. It smelled like water damage. I don't like the fact that the money that is paid when initially picking up the truck isn't just deducted from the actual amount as apposed to being charged the full amount after returning the truck than I have to wait how ever many days for the refund of the deposit. That doesn't make sense. It comes off as if I'm being charged twice rather than just for the rental and mileage. I'm sure the staff at the office doesn't like being called and screamed at over the confusion either.

The staff that helped me when I went in there were very welcoming and help me fast and were very pleasant and polite there were 3 younger guys with great attitudes and made the experience nice and easy these men deserve a raise! The people there didn't want to do there job just lazy as Africa American the dude on the inside was like the other guy will check you in when can. He kept pressing me for email email email. I told him I MUST have a PAPER copy of the receipt. He fucken still kept pressing me for a email u just leave it and go. I FELT LIKE me waiting there was inconveniencing him and a bother too. A very uncomfortable and unwelcome environment.

The online pickup stated that no equipment had been reserved and you have 2 locations directly across the street from each other. That made pickup confusing and I nearly went home thinking I just didn't have a way to pick up. Once I found out there was a different location. Everything went smoothly and the pimple at the location I picked up from and the place across the street were absolutely great but the online portion was terrible.

Staff was polite and attentive. I made a change to my reservation on the size of the truck, associate accommodated with ease. The rental process was fast and efficient. The return process was also very easy. Drive the truck into the area for return and await my documentation via email. The truck I rented was clean inside and out.

The truck was absolutely unfit for driving. I was thoroughly upset that I could not use the vehicle as needed. The steering was very loose, and you had to fight the vehicles poor alignment to keep it in lane. It felt as though customers had been using the steering wheel as a handle to pull themselves into the truck, and caused the steering wheel to become loose, or the steering column was just bad, I assume. The vehicle was poorly maintained. I felt lucky to not have had to use the UHaul rescue service, as I had believed the vehicle was going to give out any moment. The timing was bad as well. On a level road, I should not be hitting nearly 3-4k RPMs before the truck would shift gear. The appliance dolly found in the truck had a bent handle. The passenger side mirror was cracked upon receiving the vehicle. All-in-all, my experience was extremely unsatisfactory and I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Amanda Pagan has always been amazing and helpful in anyway possible!! I would absolutely send friends to her for assistance! As for the facility, it's always a mess, the rest of the staff is next to useless!! No one answers the phone there! And they are all quite miserable with themselves!! On top of that your rates have almost doubled since I started renting there and the facility has gotten worse over time!! Where's my money going?! Obviously not investing in the business!! Know your worth, lower your rates!!

I want to shout out to Jacob at the Middletown U-Haul storage. He was amazing he helps out until end with storage units. I was very stress with the truck service. I was called on Friday April 26th from representive of U-Haul that they change my location to pick up the truck. I was not happy but the agent was helpful and gave me 20 additional miles. On Saturday when I planned my day to pick up the truck I got to the location at 8:50am no one was there and the truck was behind a fence that was locked. I called you igual and they were given me the round about. Finally at 10am a gentleman shows up opens the gate I asks him can I get the keys for the truck he told he does not have it and he will call the owner to check if they have the keys. They told him no. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for a U-Haul representative to help me. After 1 hours waiting to get help from U-Haul they found a location where to get the truck. It was 20 minute away from Kearny . Meanwhile I have my movers waiting for me in front of my house getting pay to do nothing because I was not there ! Why I was getting the truck. I wasted 2 1/2 hours trying to resolve an issue that had nothing to do with me. I had anxiety attack I was terribly I was not expecting all this to happen. It was a horrible experience. I was disappointed. This was my first time using U-Haul . Not sure if I will use it again. Leslie

The only reasons why I left U-Haul are as follows: The dramatically increased monthly rental fee and the fact that CubeSmart had a smaller unit, closer to my apartment and far less expensive than U-Haul’s smaller units.

This ha been my worst experience with U-Haul. I booked my unit online the morning of 08/01. I made 2 trips to the unit during store hours, and both times I had to connect with the desk agents to gain access to the unit. My code was changed multiple times, and I was not informed of the new codes. I was given multiple access cards, and at this point I am not even sure if the card currently in my possession is the card that should allow access to the unit. The evening of 08/01, I arrived to drop off a final load for storage at about 9:00pm. I attempted to call the general manager, Jimmy Coscette, no less than 20 times using the number listed on the door (845-741-9077) between 9:15 and 10:30, and I texted the number four times between 9:14 and 10:00pm. We were on the phone with U-Haul customer support for at least 45 minutes, and while they were able to assist with providing us codes we still could not gain access. The U-Haul agent also attempted to contact Jimmy, and they were unable to reach him. I contacted Maximum, they were able to provide my code for access, but I was still unable to gain entry with the code they provided. Maximum also tried calling Jimmy as well as the district office without success. I was on a time constraint and had to begin my trip that evening to arrive at my destination because we were supposed to attend a funeral for one of my family members, so I had to throw hundreds of dollars in worth of my own possessions away instead of storing them in the unit. I contacted the district office the evening of 08/01 and let them know how upsetting this has been and that we needed someone to reach out, and we have yet to receive a response. This has been a horrible experience and I would never recommend storing with U-Haul to anyone I know based on the poor level of customer service and lack of ability to gain assistance when it was needed.

The customer service representative was really helpful. The trash bin was full near the storage, and I tried to threw out some extra large USPS flatted boxed when moving out my stuff. The staff drove a pick up truck from store to the storage to pick them up. Really appreciate it! It's definitely helpful and I will recommend it to my friends! ¡Gracias!

I have used other locations and they were far better than this location. I left this location because of price, security, procedures and to little space to unload. Unloading made difficult due to outside storage storage uhaul pods. Staff not fully trained. Unable to reach staff by phone during open hours. Autopayments being taken before the actual due date, without permission or a courtesy call.

When Picking up the Truck and Signing for the Rental Unit. The staff was very friendly and Helpful. They Stated they were there until 7pm. We had planned to Return the truck by then but were running behind. We stopped to ask about procedures after closing cause we had a full truck we had to move into the Unit. The woman at the desk was rude and not helpful. A man outside told us not to worry just to use the app for returning it after hours. At approximately 7:22pm the woman for the desk came to the storage building which we had a full truck back up to the doors. And locked the large automatic doors. She then proceeded to tell my brother to use the smaller side door and left. This was very inconvenient due to having large furniture which was difficult to get through such a small door. Then sign outside stated there was access to the building until 10pm. There was no signs stating the large automatic doors would be locked before that time. As a new customer I was very frustrated by this.

There was a couple of times the staff were rude and not willing to help. I had a day where I miss placed my locks keys, and needed the lock cut off. When I went to the office the one staff member said he couldn't do it all though he was sitting there on his phone and he had to wait for his coworker that just went to the restroom. I waited almost an hour for them to cut the lock so I can put the new one on…. I went to the office and asked if the other staff member was still in the restroom and the one that "couldn't help" said yes he's still in there. I ended up having to leave to be some where and came back the next day. The next day when I came back the staff member that couldn't help me , ended up helping me since he was the only one that could that was there. When I moved my items out I had to wait for the staff member to come and open my unit as the store removed my lock and put their own. The girl that helped was very rude and stated "my manager wants every thing out and gone" when she said this she had a nasty attitude. She was not a Pleasent person. It also took her a bit to go to the unit and take the lock off. The time that I had my unit there was 3 different managers. Thankfully the most recent manager is a very Pleasent and nice person! He is super understanding and willing to help in any way possible ! He responds in a timely manner and is willing to take the call. The manager before him was never there or never answered.
