The trucks look like they are from the late 90'- early 00's. My truck worked and did what it was intended to do and the employees were awesome and the place was clean even in the rain. But…. Uhaul needs to update the computers and trucks and stop skating by with “good enoughâ€

The guy who checked me out slammed it shut so hard snd said see?? No problem. Unreal…it was the same thing when I rented a truck last month. How about I'm sorry about that. Checking in was great, the girl checking my mileage is always very nice but the guy that's there in the morning that slammed the door wasn't very nice at all. I'd rather not deal with him

Thomas G.MOVING HELP - AVAILABILITY AND PRICE - PROMISES MADE TO CUSTOMER In July when I booked my containers, I was told (in a phone call on 7/7) that upon arrival I would be able to get moving help to deliver and unload my containers, they can usually schedule it for the next day, and the cost of moving help at the destination is $381 for drop-off, unload, pick-up (for 3 containers). However, in late August when the I tried to book the unloading moving help, the website kept telling me that each partner I selected was not available in my area. It took several calls to U-haul to arrange for local help unloading. It had to be done outside of the system. They honored the moving help online price, but it was over $700 (for 2 containers), even the lowest price partner (with poor reviews) charged over $500! SHIPPING TAKES TOO LONG - MANAGE EXPECTATIONS Although we knew the shipping schedule in advance, it was so long (8/11 pickup NY, 8/30 delivery in CA) that we didn't really believe it, and we kept hoping that the shipment would arrive sooner. It would have been helpful if we had been told not to count on it arriving earlier. OVERALL The people are great (call center, in-store, in person at container delivery/pickup, and the moving help partner), but the computer systems are TERRIBLE! (the website is slow, the terms & conditions form cannot be checked, online help can't be booked, and the app is so slow as to be useless)

mark S.This facility accepts orders for customers that will wait for their vehicle, but does not provide a waiting area. I found a folding chair in the parking lot. Fortunately, it was hot and dry, not cold and wet today. The website indicated that a custom kit was preferred, but not available. Amazon delivers these overnight. I'm sure that the generic kit took longer and was more work for the tech to install. The staff was pleasant, efficient and friendly. I have no complaints about them.

Your website is the WORST! It's slow, hard to find what I need, and integration with the Moving Help section is weak. I was on the phone or chat numerous times trying to get something resolved.

ROB H.This ha been my worst experience with U-Haul. I booked my unit online the morning of 08/01. I made 2 trips to the unit during store hours, and both times I had to connect with the desk agents to gain access to the unit. My code was changed multiple times, and I was not informed of the new codes. I was given multiple access cards, and at this point I am not even sure if the card currently in my possession is the card that should allow access to the unit. The evening of 08/01, I arrived to drop off a final load for storage at about 9:00pm. I attempted to call the general manager, Jimmy Coscette, no less than 20 times using the number listed on the door (845-741-9077) between 9:15 and 10:30, and I texted the number four times between 9:14 and 10:00pm. We were on the phone with U-Haul customer support for at least 45 minutes, and while they were able to assist with providing us codes we still could not gain access. The U-Haul agent also attempted to contact Jimmy, and they were unable to reach him. I contacted Maximum, they were able to provide my code for access, but I was still unable to gain entry with the code they provided. Maximum also tried calling Jimmy as well as the district office without success. I was on a time constraint and had to begin my trip that evening to arrive at my destination because we were supposed to attend a funeral for one of my family members, so I had to throw hundreds of dollars in worth of my own possessions away instead of storing them in the unit. I contacted the district office the evening of 08/01 and let them know how upsetting this has been and that we needed someone to reach out, and we have yet to receive a response. This has been a horrible experience and I would never recommend storing with U-Haul to anyone I know based on the poor level of customer service and lack of ability to gain assistance when it was needed.

Milta O.Someone cancelled my shipment without my knowledge. So instead of receiving my container on July 8, I received it on July 22. Now I'm trying to get in touch with the people I spoke to that told me I would get $50/day refund and getting in touch with anybody has been impossible. The people I have spoken to before my stuff arrived were kind, but this entire situation is ridiculous and the refund isn't even close to enough for the trouble that it caused. My daughters visit to Washington was supposed to be us setting up her new room…but her bed was still in New York because of Uhaul's mistake. I'm furious and I would really appreciate if someone would call me back. I want my refund at the bare minimum for all this trouble.

Unloading made difficult due to outside storage storage uhaul pods. Staff not fully trained. Unable to reach staff by phone during open hours. We had planned to Return the truck by then but were running behind. We stopped to ask about procedures after closing cause we had a full truck we had to move into the Unit. The woman at the desk was rude and not helpful. A man outside told us not to worry just to use the app for returning it after hours. At approximately 7:22pm the woman for the desk came to the storage building which we had a full truck back up to the doors. And locked the large automatic doors. She then proceeded to tell my brother to use the smaller side door and left. This was very inconvenient due to having large furniture which was difficult to get through such a small door. Then sign outside stated there was access to the building until 10pm. There was no signs stating the large automatic doors would be locked before that time. As a new customer I was very frustrated by this.

When I went to the office the one staff member said he couldn’t do it all though he was sitting there on his phone and he had to wait for his coworker that just went to the restroom. I waited almost an hour for them to cut the lock so I can put the new one on…. I went to the office and asked if the other staff member was still in the restroom and the one that “couldn’t help” said yes he’s still in there. I ended up having to leave to be some where and came back the next day. The next day when I came back the staff member that couldn’t help me , ended up helping me since he was the only one that could that was there. When I moved my items out I had to wait for the staff member to come and open my unit as the store removed my lock and put their own. The girl that helped was very rude and stated “my manager wants every thing out and gone” when she said this she had a nasty attitude. She was not a Pleasent person. It also took her a bit to go to the unit and take the lock off. The time that I had my unit there was 3 different managers. Thankfully the most recent manager is a very Pleasent and nice person! He is super understanding and willing to help in any way possible ! He responds in a timely manner and is willing to take the call. The manager before him was never there or never answered.

We called multiple times and could never speak to anyone at the local facility. When we made the trip up there for a lost key, we were told that they would call a locksmith and then call us to meet him and have the lock cut off. I later got the locksmith charge on my bill when the lock had not been cut and we had not been called. After being told the locksmith would come, I over heard the manager telling an employee just to tell customers in the future that they don't cut locks. After the $50 charge for nothing, the manager went and cut the lock himself. This is the Cliff's Notes version, but because of the lost key and locksmith situation, we didn't have access to the unit for months and basically only got the lock cut off in time for a move to another state.
