Let me first say the owner was great he came out and helped us but before that the counter person was not that great and she gave me a bunch of wrong information and had me buy a bunch of things I didn't need. You guys need to put something on your website describing what you need in case you've never pulled a trailer before that would help because I never had and the clerk had me buying the wrong tow hitches and things and it wasn't until the owner came out and said oh we have some in the back when the other clerk told me they had none and I needed to buy one. We wasted and hour getting the trailer hooked up because of it but the owner was very good and he helped us in the end but it should not have taken him to come out and help us.MARVIN M.

My profile online said in step one â€œgo to Darien Collision Centerâ€ so we did and when we got there, we had no option to start pick up like it said. I noticed online that there was an app, so I downloaded the app which then told me the pick up location was in Melrose Park...30+ minutes away. I called and they explained that Darien was my preferred location but Melrose Park was the closest location that had a truck available. So why when I went online was Melrose Park not listed anywhere?? It literally told me to go to Darien. We wasted our whole morning driving to the new location and waiting an hour in line. Also, we only get 34 miles and this pick up location was 15 miles away from our apartment, so it took almost half our miles just to get to our move. The whole thing was a mess and I will never use U-Haul again and will not recommend them. My family who I told what happened had similar experiences. Maybe a trucking company should have better logistics.PATRICK M.

This is a busy facility that is under staffed. In addition the staff that is there is not that knowledgable on fees, etc. And because they are so busy nobody is really nice. We told them we werecgoing to drop off after hours. They Never went through the process of having to go on line and check it in or there would be an additional $20 fee. In addition opening our locker same day as rented kept setting off the alarm. We were told the system needs a day to process us.maureen b. | First Impressions

While this location is excellent, what you have failed to ask about is the overall customer experience. This is the second time in 6 months that the equipment I ordered was not available and I had to not only go to another location but in this case, I did not receive the equipment I ordered and didn't get it until 5 hours after scheduled. I called U-Haul the day before the reservation to make sure everything was in order and was told they called and left me a message that the facility did not have my equipment - I did not get any message. The facility called me 15 minute before my already much later reservation. I know U-Haul already has a monopoly on rental trailers but for the last 10 years I have rented pretty consistently 1-2 U-Hauls/year and this last year has been horrible. Do better U-Haul.JOSEPH C.

My recommendation when the customer comes to the rental office with a concern be kind understanding and willing to listen as opposed over reacting when the customer is explaining the issue in an emotional manner threaten to call the law enforcement officer instead of listening with closed ears. Most importantly treat all customers with respect and professionally.JEFFREY M.

More help at the counter in the mornings for quicker check in and drop off for such a larger facility. The lady whom helped us was the only one working and asked a few of us to wait patiently. She was rushed through check in without telling us or answering any mild questions about the rental. I feel she was just too busy to be there on her own.John S.

We received a 10' box uhal truck that smelt like cigarettes and we believed that the truck had been recently left and not disinfected before we received it for use. we did not get the truck quickly we arrived at 6:59 am and had already completed the pre check in online we didn't not get the truck until 7:15 we were the first customers at the location.cristal M.

I rented a cargo trailer and it did not fit the 2 inch ball tight and was loud and very bouncy. Phone sevrice ( not the employees) was slow. After bringing back the trailer 4 hours earlier then i said, you charged me a extra day because you didn't check it in. I called and put on hold twice (12 minutes). The person that did help me said I will be refunded 22 dollars but still haven't received a e-mail to confirm it was refinded.GREGORY F.

Very disappointed... The store itself was very clean. The Man checking me in was quick... however I was simply handed my keys and he went off to help another man outside. I had zero walk through on the 26'foot truck and wasn't even sure if it was regular gas or Diesel. I figured it out... BUT THE WORST PART WAS , the whole cab reeked of marijuana! It was so bad I rolled the windows down and didn't allow my child to ride with me in the truck. I was running behind on time by 2 hours let alone trying to even find the guy who checked me out in it or I would've demanded a exchange on the truck! I THOUGHT the small would go away but the next morning my Family couldn't believe how horrible it was again. I tried calling Uhaul through my text update number but it didn't go through. I'm very disappointed in Uhaul and the staff who either didn't clean it thoroughly especially during Covid.., or that if it was returned to them and they didn't pill this truck for a few days to air it out, or whoever cleaned it was smoking pot while outside cleaning it. I expected better from Uhaul and will think 2x next time I rent a truck.WENDY D.

I decided to move out from this location due to very high prices and fees, on the last day of my contract I was being charged almost twice as much., I tried to show the attendant the emails I received with the right amount but he totally ignored me, on top of that I had to wait for 1 hour for them to remove their lock.Moises A. | Overall Experience

Have better customer service. Explain to people the right way. Not fair how we pay extra to not even be able to access to put our Stuff in the storage. Got charged for nothing and want us to hurry up because someone else had that truck reserved. Not our problem. Been calling all day and night and no pick up.
