Manager on duty took me to all three desk areas. All three signature machines were broken and they refused to let me record my signing of paperwork. They cancelled my unit and called police although I was reasonable in my request. If I'm already being recorded in store, what was the issue?. Every person We had contact with during pick-up and return were very friendly and professional. Thank you! UHaul - probably recently - implemented "technology" into the renting process that should make the it faster, smoother and more "objective". However, if "tech" wont work - for any reason - customers are stuck during transaction. And when that happens after hours and the 1800# has a waiting time of over 52 minutes, that's not what's called fun. So rating UHaul is subjective, but has two part of it. Human interaction: Excellent! Tech interaction: Glitchy with no "short cuts" to bypass - at best.(Pretty sure it will improves w/ time though.) Thank you again.PETER R.

The truck felt like the transmission was pulling in just to go up an hill. It would not accelerate beyond 35 mph. Took too long to get where I was going. The other this is I booked a one way rental and was confirmed over 2wks ago. Most companies when trying to rent there vehicles websites will prevent you from getting a confirmation if one way rentals aren't available with the specific truck size Youre requesting. Uhaul allowed me to book the moving truck and gave me a confirmation. Instead I received a phone call 1 day prior to my move date to tell me they do not have any trucks for 1 way rentals. That should've been advised 2weeks ago when I booked the damn truck. That in convenience me because I had to find someone to follow me back to Manassas to drop off the truck. That made me cancel getting my doctor appointment because I had to travel 45 minutes away from my doctors office. I will rent budget trucks from this point forward and I will make sure that my friends and family do the same.CHARLENEDARCELL F.

U-Haul the company (not the Manassas location) messed up this move big time. My original pickup was 1.5 miles from my old home and the drop off was 0.5 miles from the new home; a 45 miles trip in total. Too good to be true? I turned to be exactly that! A day before the move, U-Haul called to say they had moved the pickup location 20 miles away! When I inquired why, U-Haul said that if I read the fine print, U-Haul can do this due to truck availability. When I asked them for help, the helpline guy just tried to hang up the phone. I had to eventually call the helpline again to talk to them. On the day of the move, I had to pay Uber $33 to get to the Manassas location. I get there to find out they don't have the truck! I was beginning to lose hope. But the location manager helped. She said my only option was to use their local truck. The catch was I had to bring it back to her at Manassas all the way from Ellicott City. My 45 mile trip was now up to 125 miles with the truck; and 200 miles if you include my own travel from my house to the U-Haul location and back. By the end, I had to pay around $70 extra in Uber fees, about 10 extra gallons of fuel and waste about 3 extra hours in travel time. U-Haul used to be good. I am not sure anymore. I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone.Talha S.

I reserved a van on-line, but had trouble with the app (it said I was not at the correct location). So I had to go to the counter for help. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I got on my way. When I returned the van a couple of hours later the check in process said I was returning the van to the incorrect location, even though it was the same one I rented it from. Again, the staff was very helpful, but it is clear that UHaul needs to work on its systems and app.James O.
Customer service was wonderful, but the inside of my trailer was covered in oil. I moved to a new apartment and a good amount of my personal belongings are now filthy. I did thankfully have my mattress in a mattress cover, but the overall cleanliness of the trailer was lacking.DANIELLE A.

You rented a van to me that was not fit to make it across country. The transmission failedâ€¦we had a great challenge to get communications with UHaul, the driver and roadside assistance in Iowa. Not only did you send out a van you knew could not make the trip, but because the truck failed the driver had to make it to the next UHaul location. I would say the main reason why I'm no longer there. Is because a couple weeks ago I told the attendant the light was out in my unit and the hallway. Every time I went to my unit after that there was no light. It's not hard to trip the breaker but she wouldn't do it or let me show her. The Ramp on the Trailer is to short!!! My motorcycle is low to the ground. I tried to ride my motorcycle up on the trailer like I always do with no problem and it Bottomed out and fell over and caused $500 damage to my motorcycle!! It sucked! You need to fix this or warn people!! Not sure if I will rent again!Michael K.
The location itself is great. Uhauls new "check yourself in and out" however, isn't so great. The check out process was easy enough. The checking process however was horrible. After a long day of moving all I wanted to do was check the vehicle in. In one of the steps it told me to take a picture of the odometer. Which I tried at least 10x but it just wouldn't accept it. I called the U-Haul support number. After being on hold for 30m, it offered to call me back. Which I didn an hour later I got a call back saying I was next in line, in which it abruptly hung up on me. I was so fed up at this point I dropped the keys in the drop off slot and hoped for the best. Luckily the folks at this location must have realized what happened and checked me in, without charging me a $20 fee. From now on I'm using the counter help vs your "automated" app.Edris A.

I would have rated it above avg - excellent. However i was told the tank was full. However on filling up the tank before returning it, it needed 8 gallons. I only drove 29 miles total. Meaning the picking would only be getting 3.6 miles per gallon. On showing the gas receipt and explaining the pickup could not have been full, i was told that i needed to provide a picture of the gage and nothing could be done. Eventually, I was refunded $10.00, but they should have calculated the avg mileage of the vehicle and refunded the cost of the remaining gallons.KEVIN DEREK WINS J.
