I dropped off the vehicle and I asked the guy at the desk if he could check the gas because I brought it back with 1/4 of gas and I didn't want to be charged for gas. I did put $10 of gas in the truck and the guy said I was good that I didn't need to add more gas but I see a $6-7 charge for gas in my receipt can you give me credit for thatMARLON R.

The people who helped us at UHaul were friendly, resourceful (not all the blankets we ordered were available and one gentleman went out of his way to find more) and a pleasure to work with. It was striking to me how nice they were. The truck itself was aging-glove compartment taped shut etc-but we were only going a short distance and it did the trick.LUCY G.

I reserved my truck using the the app and truck share 24/7 that says you can pick up your truck whenever is convenient for you. When I didn't pick up my truck at the time listed on my reservation, they cancelled my truck reservation. I then had to have multiple phone conversations with U-Haul to find a replacement truck so I could move. Imagine all of this on top of the general stress related to moving. If you can go somewhere else, do it!DAVID W.

The Uhaul staff at Malden were excellent, problem-solving, and helpful. However, the Uhaul system they are working with is broken. When I showed up after a long day of moving out of my apartment (with a Uhaul truck, with moving help hired through Uhaul) having reserved a storage area online many weeks earlier, the unit was not available. While the staff ultimately found a solution (giving me 3 smaller units and a discount), this led to stress, hours of extra time, and hours of expense on my part paying the moving help contractor. If a unit is not available, the system should not offer it. This is 2021. Thanks again to the staff, and I hope management gives them a better service to work with.Jason S. | First Impressions

The self-service check in experience was awful. I was made to enter all of my information again, after of course entering all of it during the booking process. Then, I was made to wait for 5 minutes standing by the truck as I was â€œapprovedâ€. Eventually, when it came time to approve the pictures of the truck, the webpage would not continue. I refreshed and could not continue. I toggled the options and could not continue. I talked to the owner and she couldn't continue. I abandoned that process and had the owner print me a paper sheet. Location and truck were fine, owner and employees were helpful, check in was horrible and I will always check in person in the future.Patrick K.

I had originally reserved a truck at the 530 Eastern Ave location. I waited for 40 minutes in the store and never saw a U Haul employee. A waste of my time and a big security risk for you. The 124 Eastern Ave location was friendly and efficient.Michael P.

The truck I rented was fine and served my move well. But what was the best was your excellent employee Kernado Ducasse. To me he exemplified what was best in a customer service employee. He was helpful, kind, pleasant and sincere in his desire to help me and the many other customers there on a busy Sunday morning. His performance that day was all the more outstanding since management has dropped the ball and not provided him with the necessary staffing to deal with a busy Sunday first of the month moving day. He was all alone to deal with a line of 7 customers (and growing) when the shop opened at 9 am. YOU NEED TO STAFF UP ON SUCH DAYS. I did not get my truck until 10 AM which threw my entire move schedule off kilter. But Mr, Ducasse did a FANTASTIC job under the circumstances that poor or too cost-conscious management put him in. He remained helpful and calm in the face of angry impatient customers. He should be commended and given a bonus for his good work. And when I returned late because of the initial unexpected wait, I was afraid I would have to deal with further delay in figuring out how to return the key. But Mr. Ducasse appeared at my side, ready and helpful, still working late after closing hours. He is a tremendous asset to your organization. Please reward him. I hope he advances upward in your organization because he truly understands what good customer service is.STEPHEN C.

Truck was extremely jerky and barely shifted. Engine screamed all day. The thing clearly hasn't seen any proper maintenance in ages. The passenger side mirror rotates by itself while driving and the lower mirror is loose and missing a screw, which is extremely dangerous because I can't see the cars next to me while I'm driving. I selected the wrong fuel level at check-in and there was no undo button so I was liable for an extra $50 in gas. Bad experience front to back.Christian K.
The fuel charge was too much. I came back with the truck most likely with 1/16th off a filled tank and was charged $9 because of that. The nearest gas pump was selling at $2.99 a gallon. What a rip off!Pierre T.

Nicole (I think was her name) was excellent. She was pleasant, thorough and quick and made the rental process easy. She was able to manage and move along a long line of people by quickly identifying their needs when they walked on while continuing to take care of the 3 other customers in front of her. She was very apologetic for the delays and very resourceful calling other sites to see if customer needs could be accommodated because her site didn't have the requested equipment. I could go on about my short 20 minute experience... she was great!AISHA H.

When we arrived you announced that the elevator didn't work and that we couldn't move in. Then we had to find another storage and you had promised to transfer our file/payment. Which you didn't do! So we had to rent our truck for another day then had to pay again at the new location. Now we have to fight with you to get our money back! Never had such a poor experience. The people were friendly. I was overcharged 2gallons for fuel when I returned it at more than I had received. Supposedly the gentleman checking me in said th tank was full when it was 3/4 full. I called to dispute it and the person working at the time called his manager (general manager?). She was very rude talking to him and talking about the situation. I don't think she knew that I could hear her but it definitely made me think poorly about the location. I have a receipt and have to go in tomorrow to dispute the fuel charge.RAYMOND T.

I reserved a truck at a location in Watertown MA, close to where I needed it. The day before my reservation I checked the app to make sure everything was okay and discovered that my reservation had been bumped to Malden MA without my knowledge, adding several miles of driving and a good deal more time commitment to my day. I tried to get it transferred to a closer location but there were no vacancies to rent a truck on the day I needed it, and I didn't have the time to find different arrangements since it was so last minute. All of the employees that helped me through the process were perfectly pleasant and made the experience as bearable as possible under the circumstances, none of the changes were their fault but they had the unenviable task of cleaning up the extremely disappointing change that UHaul made to my move that made the process so much more difficult, without alerting me to it.JOSEPH D.

Worst experience ever. I arrived to pick up a 10ft box truck under my sister's reservation. The female staff member said she needs to change the reservation under my name. I said lets just cancel the whole reservation and put it under my name only. This took 15 minutes to do and I got my keys and started walking to my box truck. The 10ft box truck had no AC and it was 90 degrees out. I had to go back in and tell her that the A/C doesnt work at all. She changes the truck out and says all set. I walk out and start the truck and she runs out saying that my whole order was somehow canceled. Another 15 minutes go by and we had to change the whole order again. I asked her if my sisters reservation was closed and canceled? She said yes and I left. I call my sister and she checked the Uhaul app and it shows that she was renting THREE 10ft Box trucks. How do you mess up this bad? I called the location and told her that my sisters account is showing THREE UHAUL trucks is being rented. She said it will fix itself once I drop the truck off. I called customer service and advised them what I mentioned above. The phone rep told me to hold on and SHE called the store directly. The phone rep walked this employee (same female malden location) through how to fix HER mistake that she made. Worst experience ever and will NEVER rent from this location again.DAVID Y.

I had the storage unit for 2+ years and I cant speak enough of the staff. Everytime I went they were so friendly. And I hate ti say it but that doesnt happen alwasy at uhaul locations. My only feedback is that I had a top unit. Top unit's dont have an actually ceiling but more like a cage. Sadly when I cleared my unit all my belongings were covered in dust. The only 2 things that probably can be improved are the elevator & the parking lot. The elevator was out of service 2 out of 5 times I went there, and unfortunately it was when I needed to move heavy items. There is no parking lot for customers cars. You either need to park in the bank across the street or on the sideline and if you have to carry boxes then keep in mind you will have to do several trips back and forth. Apart from these 2 things, everything else is excellent. Nicole is very helpful. There are units for every need. Everything is clean and well maintained.
