The vehicle I rented needed to have the tires checked because the looked low. So I was handed a gauge and had to check them myself. All four tires needed air so then they handed me the air pump and I had to do everything myself. Then the air battery pump died and it turned into my problem. That's not good customer service.
MICHAEL VThe pick up truck that we rented was full of snow in the truck bad that was frozen. We were moving a bedroom set, and this was extremely upsetting, because we didn't want it to be ruined. The employees said there was no way for them to remove the frozen snow. The inside of the truck was even worse, because it was filthy with stains and covered in animal hair of some sort… Likely a dog. I will be contacting management to get a full refund. I have taken photos as proof of the condition of the truck. We tried to get help from the employees on the condition of the vehicle, but they said there was really nothing they could do and there were no other vehicles. They said they could let us use.

BETTY JI do not appreciate being told multiple versions of the cost for the rental. I received one quote online when I first set up the rental, another when I arrived at the location, another when I checked out on the app, and a completely different charge with my bank. This is very unprofessional.
JEREMY RAfter I called to come back for my drivers license, someone threw it out and I never recovered my license. Someone did confirm that it would be there upon my arrival, it was thrown out. Not only that, I reserved much larger storage unit and someone still gave my reservation away. No compensation or change was made despite me being a long time customer AND a U.S. Retired Veteran. Overall dissatisfied. One of the most poorly managed U-Haul locations I've been to.

PATRICK SI was told there were no dollies available at this location because they all went to Hurricane relief. Your online program should notify the user of this so we can make plans elsewhere for dollies.The guy took care of us and had the trailer ready and helped with attaching. That was nice.
KELLIE HLet customers know in advance when you don't have something available. Don't wait til pick up time to tell them.

KENNETH MCraig assisted with my rental. Very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. It was the easiest rental I have experienced. My only concern is seeing a fuel charge for 2 gallons. I have pictures of the mileage and fuel when I picked up the truck and a picture of MORE fuel in the truck when I dropped it off. Unfortunately, now I have to spend the time to recoup the money improperly taken. Bummer.
MILES MEven though there was a last minute change in pickup location, which was over 70 miles round-trip out of my way, a call to U-Haul support offered an acceptable solution by providing me extra time to get to my destination without any additional burden. Well done!

ROBERT R | Overall ExperienceI tried to reserve a 6x12 trailer for 4 days via UHaul.com and couldn't be guaranteed a reservation for longer than 2 days without a Regional UHaul authority granting the additional 2 days and my requested location. The Loves Park location could not even tell me when I could expect an answer on if my reservation would be at Loves Park and I could be asked to drive 30 miles from my preferred reservation. Their best guess was late afternoon the day before. I chose Loves Park as it is a local hub, not a small shop that does UHaul on the side specifically for this reason and my reservation was not guaranteed until about 30 hours before pickup. What is the point of picking a hub for a reservation to potentially not even have it honored?
JON QI rent uhauls from time to time. In this particular location two gentlemen met me at the front and I stated that I was looking for a 10' truck. They stated there was none available that they weee being all picked up. Iand that the box truck and pick up truck they had would need a major credit card to rent out. I asked if they were all being picked up as there were a few on the lot. And they said yes. The box truck or pick up truck didn't work for me. So I told them I'd look else where. I decided to just download the U-Haul app and go from there. And to my surprise the app sent me back to that location. With minutes for them to close, thankfully the app let me check out on my own, which at that point they did not have no choice but to give me the key for one of the trucks they refused to rent out to me. I do not understand the point of having employees who do not want to work… thank you U-Haul for the app that lets us faithful customers rent as a self serve. I'll just stick to the app moving fwd

We were supposed to pick up the truck in Rochelle IL...... had to drive 30 miles to Loves Park to pick it up.... also rented 36 moving blankets, 2 hand trucks, and a furniture dolly.... actually got 18 blankets... and no furniture dolly. =(( Equipment was great..... pickup....not so good.

JEFFERY CI have been using this facility for years and my last experience was not good. I used a trailer for only 2 hours and was charged for 3 days because the employee that checked in my trailer did not take care of it in the computer. Because of this error my checking account was overdrawn for days and I had to transfer money from another account, an inconvenience that I did not appreciate. As of today my account is not corrected yet and I hope I do not receive overdraft fees because of the error of an employee. At this time I will not recommend this location because of that.

VANESSA H | First ImpressionsI liked the general manager, I do think he did the best he could with the staff.The unit was safe and secure. A few times I was in there I heard casual swearing by the younger members of the staff, which with a young child in tow isn't the best environment, The interior climate controlled unit was only accessible during the office hours, but it's advertised as 24 hour access. There needs to be a door installed to allow the next person to access the unit or be billed accordingly. Also, there was a lock on the unit door handle to which no one had a key. This wasn't the padlock, this is the door handle lock. When the lock was accidentally triggered during unloading, I had to pay for a locksmith to open the unit because I was told it would take U-haul up to 3 months to get it opened due to red tape or I could just pay for it. Justin did help lower the cost of the rental truck to clean out the unit, so I do appreciate that. Overall, the experience will not excite me to rent with Uhaul again. I have a unit with one of your competitors and will likely stay with them in the future.

In the afternoon it became more of an issue when I had a few questions for the afternoon crew and really didn't get any answers. I was disappointed also that there is only one reserve unit for us even though I had reserved three, but I am thrilled when I do have his climate controlled.

However, you can only access the storage coming through the front door and walking to the back. The hours are not good either since they close early evening.
