We booked our truck 2 months in advance and the day before were told that the truck wasn't available because there was only one 26â€ truck and it hadn't been returned by previous renter. Day of the person in line before us was given a 26â€ truck and after we were given a 20â€ we saw another 26â€ about to be cleaned. When going back in to see if we could get the 26â€ truck we ordered, we were told in town was given priority to those travelling out of town. We booked two months in advance to ensure that we were able to fit all our belongings from our three level townhouse to our new house. Due to this change we weren't able to fit all our belongings. Very frustrating when again, we booked 2 months in advance.Daniel C.

I called that and was on hold for about 20 minutes and finally gave up and put the keys in the overnight drop slot (as my friend pointed out the location) and leftDavid M.
Front desk attendants were not knowledgeable and failed to communicate things clearly which cost me 2 extra hours of running around. By far my worst transaction with U-Haul. I should note the gentleman dealing with returns outside was quite professional and helpful. I will give that location one more transaction, if that doesn't go well I will pursue a formal complaint and post public reviews of my experiences.Athar Q.

Don't let people book a one-way trip unless they can actually have a one-way trip. Booked pickup in Stratford and drop-off in London, weeks in advance. Learned the day before the booking that I would need to both pick up and drop off in London. Not convenient at all. Guy on the phone was absolutely smug and totally unhelpful, however the females that I spoke to at call centre and at the Clarke Rd location were helpful and had pleasant manners. Fire the guy, if I had someone speak to my customers like that he would be out the door. I found the staff a little under trained perhaps?. It took a very long time to get my rental. Not sure what the hold up was but I booked and paid online and still waited 20 plus minutes while the attendant sat at the computer with my licence. The guys in the yard were fantastic. They knew what was going on. Return was tedious too. I just ended up dropping and leaving. I'm sure if I waited as instructed I would have been there for well over an hour. Hope this helps.Charles B.

My truck had the engine light on and check r r air tire low on and the mechanic said it was just a sensor . I never got asked if I had a credit card and used debit then had to wait in line 45 min to return truck put gas in and had to pay 17 dollars for gas no money able to return on card had to be cash only as debit didn't work. The customer service was awful . I didn't feel safe driving the truck and they said that they will look at the truck after I returned it? The gas wasn't correct as I only drove 36 kms and put 7 bucks in how did I need that much more fule when checked? Nothing added up . I had the same size truck on 30th drove way more and only needed 10 dollars to fill back up?Zarina S.

I think it would be good to add an interior check of the cab to the inspection that you have to do of the vehicle. Our truck had a broken glove compartment (the door was hanging down). I was very stressed that we would be be blamed for the damage. We were not so maybe it was noted somewhere, but I was worried. The attitude of the staff are just horrible. No wonder it has only 2.7 stars. Staff swearing, saying fuck, shit, to other customers. Not giving instructions to find truck, the attitude the definitely the worst I have ever seen. Many people have said how bad this location is. The only reason they are still open is because of the variety of equipment available. If there was another real competitor they would not have a chance in hell. It is really to bad. Terrible management attitude. Even making fun of other customers. In fact it is so bad I will never recommend them to anyone I will tell people to stay away. You can rent a moving truck else where way cheaper, the drop off was a nightmare I could not share my location and tried 3 different browsers it would not work and they want $30 if you don't do this, what if the person doesn't use a cell phone. Good scam. Mail was stuffed in the key drop box and if I didn't take it out someone could have gotten the keys and stole the truck. I called the 1800# because I couldn't do the drop off on line and the lady was a bitch and told me how much extra I would be charged because your site wouldn't let me share my locationRyan D.

We had reserved a furniture trolley online along with a truck and when we showed up to pick up, all the trolleys were rented out. That was disappointing.Kevin M.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I made a reservation for an 8am pickup on a Saturday Morning. At 7:45am I was 10th in line. Finally, just before 9am I received the keys to the moving van and was told that my original return time has not changed, even though the pickup time has now changed because of the long wait time. No staff in the yard to help navigate through the trucks to find yours rental. One poor staff member (the lady was great!) had to handle all customers by herself!! The lady working still continued to answer the phones as well which was crazy, but understandable. Shame on UHaul and their staffing guidelines! Shame on UHaul for their timing procedures! Impose a hefty enough deposit that is non refundable if equipment is returned late so that people return trucks on time for the next person We had rented a 20 foot truck for 24 hours and when we arrived were told that it was not returned and they couldn't get a hold of the person who had it. We needed 20 feet as we had to store all the furniture overnight. The only thing they could do for us was rent us a 15 foot and a 12 foot trailer to make up for the room we needed at an extra cost of course. Luckily just as we were waiting for the trailer to get hooked up to the truck we saw the 20 foot truck pull in and ran back in to make sure we got it before someone else. I arrived 0800 to pick up my truck and I had to wait over an hour because there was 1 person working. This is very poor planning on your part especially when you know how many customers have trucks booked for the morning. Then when I finally get to the counter, they tell me that I no longer get to drop off my truck in Toronto but instead I need to drive it all the way back to London to Return it. This is unacceptable because I had commitments in Toronto that I had to miss because of this and also had to pay 100 dollars extra for gas coming back. If uhaul had communicated this to me earlier (instead of when I arrived), I would have booked a different company. I will not recommend this site or uhaul to anyone.
