I used to own a business and really appreciate great customer service, which is hard to find these days. It was the 2nd time in 4 weeks that we had rented a trailer, and Jacob, the general manager and gentleman who helped me, was extraordinary. I arrived 15 minutes before opening time and was waiting outside the entrance door while Jacob was working outside another entrance 50 feet away. As he walked back into that entrance he looked over towards me, smiled and said, "Welcome back!" When the store opened at 7AM he took care of me efficiently, politely and with a smile. The man checks all of the boxes and could write the book on customer service. He would be a major asset to any company and I would try to hire him away if I still had my own business.Thomas H.

Your system was down when I came in to pick up my rental. An employee put my credit card information in manually, direct, and I was charged. Then the following day I was charged again. Additionally, your employee did not reset the trip meter from the previous trip, as it was the very end of the day and mad chaos due to your systems being down, she said go ahead and take this one, so I was charged for triple the amount of miles I actually used the vehicle for. I am still owed a refund for the double charge & a reimbursement for the miles the previous driver used, and U-HAUL has done nothing to rectify the situation. Absolutely terrible customer service and nobody knows anything. They didn't even know where multiple vehicles were due to your system being down. But they sure know how to double charge and take my money from all angles! Disgusting!Josh L.

I was miss informed by a young lady about van rates, mileage w days rented & fuel cost overage the 1st time, I went elsewhere on short notice & couldn't get a van to rent. Went back next day to seek an alternative piece of equipment to rent. A new employee was there & I asked again. There were 2 customer service reps. One was new and very friendly. One guy had been there longer and was older. He spoke very rudely about the new employee to customers. That was uncalled for. Also was asked to go get the vehicle and drive it to the front after I had parked it. Sign said to wait for attendant but he never came out so we had to walk back in. Poor communication skills. Nice facility and nice people. Just a couple of small things... I reserved a dozen moving pads for $10. I removed the security zip tie for the pad container which indicates there should be 6 pads inside and found only 4 pads. There were quite a few 26' trucks at this location. Some (the newer units) did not move that day. I got the old freight shaker unit. That's just my personal chuckle. LOLJoe D.

I would have to say, maybe I would recommend if they were able to correct customer service mistakes. The online reservations were not accurate for this location. Online said they had Sunday appointments and they didn't. If I had not called, I would've signed up for Sunday, dropped my car off, and not gotten the service done until Monday. Then I signed up for a 9 AM appointment on a weekday. I dropped the car off the night before, and then was told the mechanic doesn't start till noon. So that was not accurate as well. I was told it would take 2 to 3 hours the next day to get the hitch put on. I will be the first one in line since I had a 9 AM appointment but the mechanic didn't come in till noon. So I assumed my hitch would be done by 3 o'clock or so. I never got a phone call and tried calling this location. I was never able to talk to anyone except the call-center, who was also not able to get through. They closed at seven so I finally went in after 5:30 wanting to see if my car was done. I was told it was done earlier but the mechanic forgot to call me. I was also told it was a busy day and they only had two people working so they were not able to answer phone calls or get back to people who left messages. So I felt the customer service was not good at this location. The hitch was installed well thoughâ€¦Linda W.

The app should not have a move out option for the storage locker if you need to come in to cancel it. The app doesn’t tell you that you need to come in, it just says processing order. The pick up process what very smooth and we were able to take care of everything online. The drop off process was a bit chaotic. There was a line of vehicles waiting to be checked in, the two young people working that day were very overwhelmed and there were people there yelling at them. It would solve a lot of the issues to just have people check the vehicle in online rather than waiting in a drop off line; especially at a busy time.Jayme C.

Manager Jacob was fantastic every time I stopped at the store for boxes, to get a Uhaul and to answer questions regarding storage. Very friendly, professional, and responsive. On move in day Dylan helped us. While Dylan was nice and I understand it was only his 2nd time moving someone into storage, we were paying movers siding check in (I should have come earlier, I know) and I felt like he was a lot slower than necessary, on 2 occassions I was in the store both while there was a long line. Unprofessional chomping on gum and paying more attention to what his coworkers were talking about than the customer sitting in front of him. I’d like to make a suggestion for check out. If it’s feasible, it would be nice to have separate lines for supply checkouts, key drop offs etc vs setting up for U-Haul vehicles/storage. I used a Uhaul truck to move my 2 bedroom apartment into Uhauls storage units until my new apartment was ready. The storage units and building was always clean and easily accessible. Their cleaning person I encountered was nice, considerate, and did a thorough job. She took pride in her work. I even got a phone call from the Uhaul team when my padlock was not on the door correctly. They were concerned my storage locker was not secure. I came back to Uhaul and they showed me how to lock my storage unit to make it more secure. All of my experiences with the Uhaul team were outstanding. The owner has a great team here. One of the employees (name purposefully removed) was either new or didn’t care when renting the storage unit out. I requested a unit and said that i had a U-Haul truck. I knew from the website that I should get the first month free however when asked the U-Haul employee said that wasn’t true. In an effort to not argue I let it go. They proceeded with getting the unit set up, didn’t ask me to sign for the rentals agreement, if I needed a second key, what insurance to use (theirs or homeowners), and failed fully check out that unit from the system. After trying the key at the door it didn’t pop up with anything but we assumed that was normal for the location and opened the door to the unit. Instead the alarm went off both when it was opened it and closed. Nobody came to check and make sure anything was being stolen. Moral of the story is the U-Haul employee that isn’t well trained may cause you more issues than you expect. Thank goodness there was a second person on shift. They knew exactly what the other did wrong, what the storage area hours were and after an additional 30 minute wait, we able to get my unit figured out.KAILYN B. | First Impressions

The unit I am renting says it’s a 10x5x9 and says it can hold up to two room of items or 1200 sq feet. I can tell you that is incorrect and very misleading. My furniture and other household belongings were at the Hwy 164 Waukesha location for 13 months. Everything was the same as it was the day it arrived there including my small freezer. I was worried because it was closed mold would develop or foul smell from moisture but neither happened. Also the furniture and other boxes were not covered in dust. This is truly a clean temperature controlled environment. The garage bays are very accessible and carts are right there. I would also like to say thank you to the kind hearted staff who was mopping and cleaning the day I struggled with my filled cart and the one elevator was busy with other movers. She directed me to the alternate elevator and helped me guide the cart on/off and then guided me back to the garage bay. She went over and above for me and I’m grateful.
