Staff is friendly, courteous and always willing to help. The facility is always clean and well maintained. I have never come across such a large facility that is so well organized and so well staffed. I imagine they face some daunting challenges, however the entire staff functions as a team. This can only be a result of excellent management skills as shown by their Manager Teresa Wilder. I am going from memory here, so forgive me if I have misspelled her name! I went inside to reserve my rental truck and it was done incorrectly. I had to drive to Parkville when I live in Leavenworth and did all the inquiry and establishing service in Leavenworth. I emphasized how important Leavenworth for the pick up and return was necessary so even if a smaller vehicle had to be used I would do that versus go somewhere else. It was acknowledged by the employee. Employee also did the online reservation. Total screw up and misleading/shady. Secondly, my storage unit which I reserved three weeks earlier suddenly was "kicked out of the system with six other people"…….. not acceptable. The worst organization skills ever seen and the two females at Leavenworth location are absolutely horrible, argumentative, unprofessional,aggressive and attacking employees. Definitely incompetent, and they couldn't even answer simple basic questions about the business. I expect refunds for all the MULTIPLE ERRORS at the Leavenworth location w my rental and storage unit. The windshield was streaky inside. Just needs to be wiped out more thoroughly. Picking up was a pain in the rear. I had to walk out to the truck for the walk through, then all the way back up to the building to get the keys. That process could be streamlined better so that I didn;t have to walk back and forth across the lot 2-3 times. I think it took me 20-25 minutes to get the truck checked out. It seems like that process could be streamlined quite a bit.WILLIAM W.

The application for the storage unit wanted information I did not have. It wanted 2 addresses but I only live in one house with one address and it wanted 3 phone numbers which my wife and I only have 2 cell phones. The lady behind the desk had to lie and info the additional info on the application so it could be submitted. U-Haul needs to rectify this problem.ROBERT M. | First Impressions
Returning the truck and auto transport was great. People were great but the problem came when I tried to acquire the storage unit. Per U-Haul, they wanted 2 different addresses, (I only had one because I can't afford a second home) and they wanted 3 phone numbers, (which I only had 2). My wife and I only live in one house that has one address and we only have 2 cell phone numbers, hers' and mine. So the lady behind the desk had to lie on the application by inserting the info needed so the application would go through. U-Haul needs to rectify this because it is causing problems.ROBERT M.

I reserved at the Independence Mo location. I ended up having to pick up 1 hour away. When I asked if I could return at the Independence location I was told Sure but my rate changed by $350!!! We are a children's non profit so that money goes a long way. I returned at my pick up location to save the foundation money but what an inconvenience!Tiffany N.

I originally reserved a truck at a location on MN Ave in KCK. UHaul called the day before and said that it wouldn't be there, it would be at one on State Ave in KCK, so I went there. When I arrived, they had no record of it. They found a truck in Leavenworth, so I went there. After spending more than $60 in Ubers which was not reimbursed by UHaul. Their email said the truck was "reserved and guaranteed". Meaningless.Eric G.

We made the reservation 30 days in advance, when the day came we had to drive 30 miles to pick up the truck. They had just replaced the windshield the day before and the cab was full of broken glass shards. I had to go find someone to blow all that out. We had reserved our truck for 6:00 AM. They called the day before our move and told us we could not have it until noon. That will cause us not to use U-Haul again. That really impacted a lot of different things - having to get a hotel because we could not pack in the time frame needed. Moving around people we hired to help us move. When we spoke to the service desk, we were told that the equipment could not be guaranteed. When you reserve a month in advance, you should be able to guarantee the equipment.Joseph C.

Check equipment and make sure it's in working order before it's rented out. We took our 26 ft truck and loaded it full and when we hooked up our auto transport the lights wouldn't work. After trouble shooting it was decided that it was the truck, not the trailer that was the problem. This delayed our transport due to only being able to drive during daylight hours. This was not even where I was supposed to pick my equipment up in the first place but since there was no one at the first place when we arrived to pick up, our pick up location had to be changed which also delayed our packing and plans for transport across the country. Navigation through the online process had hiccups, it kept pulling out of my bank account then crediting then debiting about 3 or 4 times. It didn't give me the place to put the code for the free storage. I had to get a refund in person, which was great. Overall, I was happy with the move. In the beginning (when trying to secure business) the staff, manager Teresa was very informative and nice. Toward the end, and/or when trying to secure a different space, I was told corporate held spaces, nor would they communicate timely, which cost me an additional $39.95 (month storage)by being a day outside of the grace period and there was no pro rate as per one of the representatives. When trying to rent a trailer, another representative was pushing a lot of buttons and not communicating what was being done, states that my information is not in the system (sounds fraudulent and indicative of mischievous activities). You're in a customer service roll, you deal with customers, you have to talk to people, have them understand what you're doing... You are the face of uHaul. Our 10x20 storage unit was not 10x20, rather two 10x10 units. This was not disclosed anywhere. One of the first units we were assigned had a pole going right through the middle of the unit, taking up space and usefulness. Pricing on our map of units was inaccurate (according to the worker.) We were able to exchange units but the set up was far less than ideal for moving a 26 ft Uhaul worth of items to storage. Very narrow hallways & one 10x10 unit had a large roll open door, while the other 10x10 unit had a much smaller walk through door making it very difficult to maneuver large items.Sara H. | First Impressions

I had a great experience in the store. The staff was friendly and helpful. One of the members spent a good amount of time trying to resolve an issue higher ups in the company had made. Ridiculous that I reserved a unit and the store was unable to get me that unit because of flaws in the Uhaul system. Now, I had a truck full of stuff. So I had to spend more money to get a unit size I didn't make the reservation for! Like that's not my issue y'all messed up! Big props to Ali who was working at the time.
