I've rented a lot of cars but not trucks and not from U-haul. I'm used to rental sales walking the vehicle with me...I got the van 3/4 full but didn't take a picture of the gas gage...I got charged to refill a FULL TANK when I turned in the car. I owed gas $ but not for a full tank. There was a schizophrenic customer in the office and it was full of customers when I checked out...they gave me the keys and sent me on my way. I've been in busy car rental places but they STILL walked the car with me...They should do that at U-haul...it could be a technique to get extra $$ out of customers who don't know the "drill"Deborah B.
"No one-way rental" as a way to force people to pay double mileage is not nice. Rep said "there's an equipment scarcity at the location" when the parking lot is damn near 100% full of available trucks and trailers alike. I get that repaining the $19.95 false prices on thousands of trucks to reflect the new prices would be a waste, too.Mikhail K.
I had reserved a truck in Long Beach. I was told at the last minute we would have to pick it up in Inglewood. I believe an employee should have handled that.Todd T.
Inglewood store and Hawaii store did well. It's what happened in between I'm not so happy with. My U Box was sent to a different location and when I called, about it I was told it couldn't be done due to no room and man power in Inglewood. When I went to the location where my box was, I told them it would take me multiple days to retrieve my items as it was far away from where I moved to. The nice guy I spoke with said it was no problem delivering my box to Inglewood. I was so happy to hear that and it made my life easier and I was able to unload my box in one day!Jonathan S.

The individual who was there when I returned the equipment was extremely rude. I had to chase him down to get his attention. When I finally got his attention he kept walking away. I was not informed of next steps until I got a phone call saying that I didn't return my truck. I would like someone to call me regarding this.DANIELLE J.
Pick up - No dolly available from the pick up location (I needed 3), girl that gave me the keys for the truck had bad attitude and basically said oh well that's not my problem! luckily there was at least one dolly in the truck Drop off - I was harassed and threatened at drop off by a dude on the lot, it was really bad, I almost called police I have to review this location online to warn other people from not getting the equipment they booked and getting attitude from the employees at pick up and getting harassed and threatened at drop off. It took an hour just to pick up a small uhaul. First uhaul they gave me, no gas. Second one the brake lights were out. The final one was decent. No credit was given due to the delay.Stephanie G.

If a customer ask for a specific vehicle and its clearly available don't lie to them and tell them it's unavailable. I reserved a cargo van and asked for a specific make and model due to the fact that I preferred a model in which I was more comfortable driving. I was told no because it doesn't matter the vans are the same. This location has a GMC and Ford Transit. 2 different make and models so no they are not the same. I counted 7 available vans that I requested and they gave me the one I said I didn't feel safe in. I have my whole experience on video and will share it on my social media. GraciasAlamin T.

The manager (can't remember his name) is always pleasant and helpful when I rent their vans. Being and floral designer I rent from them quite a bit. Refuse to go anywhere else for equipment and van rentals. Keep up the good work!Davida B.

The truck had a tire pressure warning on when we got it. I had trouble uploading the photo of mileage and gas when I was doing returning on the Android App. It didn't upload the photo at all. Took me 30 minutes there super mad and then it was a staff working there did the checkout on his phoneDi H.

I was helped by the stores general manager, I was extremely impressed at how well he handled a very busy afternoon he was checking multiple people in at once and was flawlessly handling the line. This is my favorite U-Haul location. It is very clear that the general manager loves his job and takes great care of his employees. His employees also show a lot of pride in their job and it's very clear that they are happy and enjoy what they do.CHRISTOPHER W.
U-Haul of Inglewood was all bad -- from start to finish. I literally had seven different problems: can't count on the on-line system; they don't follow their own procedures; they don't have helpful staff; their management was incompetent, rude and dishonest; they literally asked me to buy parts to repair their non-operational equipment; it took 1.5 hours to get a trailer; and then they hit me with surprise fees. Here're the details: 1. Can't count on the on-line system. I initially reserved elsewhere on-line. Within minutes, I got a call from U-Haul saying that, no, they didn't really have available trailers there and I was being switched to U-Haul of Inglewood. 2. Don't follow their own procedures. The email and on-line said I would get an advance call from my site to go over arrangements. Never happened, although they had several days to call. I had to call U-Haul on my way there. Got no warning of problems. BUT, believe me, there were problems. 3. Don't have helpful staff. Got to the site, drove through their lot passing multiple trailers that matched my specs without seeing anyone out there. So much for â€œadvance check-in to expedite your pick-upâ€. Went inside, went straight to a counter with no line, but waited for minutes trying to get the attention of the clerk sitting right there. She was too busy with her phone to notice me waving or hear me trying to talk to her through the plexiglass barrier. She then told they didn't have a trailer for me, even though I'd seen several on the lot, but couldn't explain why not. She claimed the ones I'd seen, â€œmust be reserved.â€ I pointed out I had a reservation, so one should be reserved for me. Didn't help. So, over to the assistant manager. 4. Incompetent, rude, dishonest management. The assistant manager started the conversation by telling me I didn't need to be inside, â€œthey could have taken care of you outside.â€ I told her that no one was in sight outside. She told me I was wrong. We went outside. No one was in sight. Still no explanation of why no trailer. 5. Didn't have a key part, wanted me to buy it elsewhere, come back and effectively donate it to them. It turned out, they claimed, that their trailers' wiring harnesses had been stolen. They wanted me to go to AutoZone, buy one, and let them cut it up so they could splice it to their trailer's wiring. First had an argument with the assistant manager who literally wanted to insist that the trailers were fully equipped, they just couldn't be used without the missing equipment. I shouldn't have to argue about what "equipped" means to rent a working trailer. Then had to argue about getting reimbursed for buying the missing part. (Goes back to incompetent, rude, dishonest management.) 6. Total time to get out with a trailer â€" despite no customers ahead of us â€" was about 1.5 hours. As anyone knows who's had a time window for a move, we were between a rock and a hard place. So, we went through with it, and finally got out. 7. Surprise fee on the final bill. They asked us if we could still have it back by 6:00 pm. We said we could. They said â€" only then â€" that they close at 5:30, but, â€œNo problem â€" just leave the trailer. We'll check it in in the morning and you'll get the receipt by email.â€ We asked if they were sure there was no problem. They said yes. That was all they said. Despite them holding us up by 1.5 hours, we had the trailer back by 6:15 pm. We took pictures to prove it. Nevertheless, with no warning that this would happen, the bill arrived with an â€œAfter Hours Service Feeâ€ tacked on. The fee more than doubled the original quoted rental cost. So, no, I have nothing good to say about U-Haul of Inglewood. Bad experience from start to finish. Folks should go anywhere else.Robert N.

Computers were down and my truck was boxed in. Had to wait almost an hour and a half which totally screwed my moving day. Ricardo at the front desk did great though and was running 3 computers at once when they came back online. Also got charged $28 for the protection when I had a piece of paper saying it was $14. After a long day of moving i just wanted to leave and didn't have it in me to argue the additional $14.Kevin H.

Pickup went fairly smooth. Only 1 person at checkin counter but he was working 2 registers and only 2 people in front of me. Return was a different story. I pulled into return aisle and there were 4 vehicles in front of me (all un-occupied) and then a vehicle pulled in behind me. No employee to be found. I went into customer service center and there were about 15 people in line and only 1 person at the counter. An employee walked in, so I asked him about return and he said they were very busy and the only 2 people working. He asked me to go back to return area. he showed up a few minutes later and for some reason went to help the person behind me first and told me he would be with me in minute. He then came to help me, checked me out and unhooked my trailer but left it behind my vehicle, so I am still trapped in the line. I asked him if I could move the trailer to the side and try and back out around the vehicle behind me. He said sure. I, along with another trapped customer, moved the trailer. The employee got in the vehicle behind me and I thought he was going to move it but that was not the case. I was able to squeeze by and leave. The return employee had told me was new and pretty stressed out. Could have been a better return experience.Alan B.

The process took longer due to poor communication. After a few issues getting the truck (including a flag on my account that apparently didn't need to be there), we were then told to wait outside and someone will direct us to the truck. We waited for 10-15 mins, but no one came. We went back in to talk to the people at the desk and then they said that the truck was just sitting there and we could just jump in...the whole process took about 1.5hrs, but seemed like it could've just taken 15-mins.THOMAS T.

My contract was for a 5 day rental. Equipment due back 9/29. We arrived in LA on 9/25 at 5:30 PM after leaving Olympia, WA Friday 9/24 at 1:30 PM. We dropped the trailer off on Saturday 9/25 then unloaded the truck and returned the truck 9/26. Before the truck arrived at the drop off on 9/26 I received a phone call from an irate Uhaul customer service rep who yelled at me and told me the equipment was very overdue and she had a customer waiting for it. In actuality we were 3 days early returning the truck. Uhaul needs a much better system of communication.Ephrain F.

Forgot to give us back our ID. Called to find out about it and never got a call back. The guy in the lot had the worst attitude. They didn't have the blankets I reserved and after checking with two different people (1 in person and one the next day over the phone) to make sure I wasn't charged, they charged me for them anyway. My vehicle wasn't ready at the reservation time. I spent 40 minutes waiting around for them to get me a new vehicle and then update the paperwork. They didn't have blankets that I ordered. An area manager had some in the back of his car that he gave me. When I returned the vehicle I realized that the agent that checked me out added the insurance for $70 to my rental. I never agreed to that. It was definitely not selected by me during the online reservation. The yard team works hard and I appreciate them. The area manager and office staff need some work. I'll be reaching out about the $70 I was overcharged.MATHEW N.

Picking up the equipment, no problem. Very easy, no issues. Returning the equipment, trucks were spilling out of the lot onto La Brea Avenue including the parking spaces out front. Since I had a trailer, I had nowhere to go. It took almost an hour to get into the lot, disconnect the trailer and get checked out. The gentleman working the lot was so overwhelmed - he'd been left with a mess. I felt bad for him. He did his best to help me. Whoever was managing the lot on Saturday left him a disaster (I was there at opening). I wouldn't come back to this location given this scenario.Jami C.
