Entrance is not clearly marked. Location is very dim, and I couldn't see the employee behind the counter over the large pile of boxes for sale at the entrance. It was very confusing for myself, a first time consumer. I don't like that the pricing is advertised as one fee, but you'll likely end up paying at least double that. It's very misleading.
Everything was outstanding.

The young women that was at office was very rude she did not greet me when I arrived.After a payed me for my unit there was a uhaul lock in it and she told me someone will be removing the lock. I waited for 15 minutes no one’s showed, and walked back to the office she sittings and jocking with other people when I told her I am sill waiting for the lock to be removed she answers me with an attitude Someone will be there to remove it I waited for an extra 10 minutes
The close-out website would not work. The customer reps let me know that it would not be my fault. All went well. Thanks.
I had an excellence experience. It was easy to schedule online and then when my flight was delayed I was able to push down my pick up time easily over the phone and the after hours drop off was a clinch! Great seamless experience. Good customer service on the phone and on site when I picked up!

The worker at the register was very rude when I ask him to explain a process that I didn't have to do the day before. He then proceeded to say if you don't want to do it thou can go to another location. I felt disrespected and I will never go to this location again
Cup holders had crumbs
My storage unit required walking up stairs to access, thus I couldn’t simply “cart” items to/from the unit. This is a huge design flaw in my opinion. Furthermore, dirt and debris from God knows what tended to coat my items. The roof of the building leaks, potentially on uncovered items (because my unit itself has an exposed ceiling).
Manager could not care less that they had already rented my van that I ordered online. I had to wait 25 minutes while they could not figure out how to modify my order to get me a new van. They finally made a new contract and gave me a van with 1/8 fuel left which meant I had to immediately go get gas.
Ensure that people helping to check out equipment listen to customers - I declined additional collision coverage when asked, but the person assisting me added it to the invoice anyway without my approval.
The truck I rent was the perfect size and was reliable the only thing was it leaked when it rain.
I returned my van 30 mins early but the receipt doesn't line up with that. The van only had 7% oil. The van wasn't in the right spot the clerk told us to look so that cut in to our time. The clerk was also a bit rude.

Being forced to make a last minute reservation due to a Budget truck issue (and much more $$$) - Marcus Kirkpatrick changed my worst day to a good day. He is a wonderful representative and he made sure to get us a nice new truck. I was most grateful and would like you to commend him please - he deserves much praise.
This was by far my worst moving experience thanks to Uhaul and your inability to follow through with reservations.
I wanted to do this without human contact. Due to a glitch, your system wouldn't accept my credit card so I had to go inside.
Service was quick, friendly and efficient. The only thing I would like is to get the vehicle with a full tank of gas so I can fill it to return. Thanks
With the exception of dashboard and windshield dirty, everything else was excellent.
Return alley almost trapped trailer return. Suggest different spot to prevent lack of passave to leave
Don't charge them twice and make them have to call For a refund like I did.

Truck was broom Clean, but could be better clean! Had lots of sticky spots of some spills. Loading clean furnitures and mattress could easily get dirty and makes ugly marks! Over all truck was clean. Thanks

Only improve is to train ur employees to ask, "have you been helped?"
The truck that I rented at this location smelled really bad I really dont like to complain but this time it didn't go that good for the money that I paid for the rental
I use this same uhaul 2 to 3 xs a week @2421 chilling road for the past month as I've recently started a small business and they are very close to me in location. Then all of a sudden they request from me a total of 3 contacts to rent a truck. This is a huge inconvenience!!!! This request is outside of uhauls m.o. and for that reason I do not reccomend this location.
I had an incredible customer service experience with the gentleman that took my reservation. He was very polite, prompt and quick. Thanks for the great experience.
This is probably one of the last UHAUL Rentals I would refer anyone over to, I would refer over in a desperate circumstance. This facility demonstrates DEAD ENERGY! CH

The truck was dirty and not all lights were working a d this was only after UHAUL changed my reservation location twice!!! This pickup location was okay but was almost an hour away from the original one I had selected.
My original estimate was $307, when I got dropped off, they told me the new estimate was over $1,000. The manager left his phone number and I called 4x with no call back. I had to cancel my order online, do a new reservation, but because the smaller size was not available, I was forced into a 26' truck (which I did not need that big) which raised the estimate to nearly $500 from the original $307. The person who handled the transaction was rude and dismissive. I will not work with uHaul EVER again.
I reserved the 26-footer for my move they call me an hour before time to start everything and tell me they do not have the 26-footer all they had available was 20 no one did anything to help me I had to pay more money in mileage more money in labor and more money to the movers for using the smaller truck set it took five more hours just unacceptable
You can discipline the rude and completely obnoxious employee who handled my return. The rental equipment was good, and frankly the check in by the refreshingly upbeat and helpful clerk was not only welcome but also surprising, the employee that handled my vehicle return was completely rude as well as completely unnecessary. This has insured that I will never patronage your location again. You have lost my business.
My wallet fell out of my purse when returning truck and when I came to pick it up cash was stolen , over $140.00
The side door didn't work which was inconvenient.
This store was amazing! Customer service from u haul (phone representative) was awful. They tried to get out of honoring their online promo. Acted as if they were doing me a favor by knocking it down to .79 cents per mile instead of the free they promised. The woman also hung up on me mid sentence.
Seen some arguing between staff and customer with no respect for other customers. Good service to set up. Delaying for two days straight for rent truck.
It would be helpful to have some light in the temperature controlled units. I had to us my phone for light.

Truck was dirty, parked in the wrong spot and parked too close to others to inspect. They were too busy socializing and not wearing masks to actually want to help safely
Please stop advertising equipment you do not have. I had to struggle to find a dolley from a friend on the movinf day. I had called multiple times and reconfirmed online as well, before completing my reservation. You did confirm you had one. There was no apology nor compensation for the extra time I had to spend to go find a dolley. Poor service.
The line was long and slow to get service. Needed more reps to get the customers out the door.

The drop off process could be improved. I return the van and two employees saw me but didn't acknowledge me or provide any guidance. One finally got out of the van he was sitting in while texting and just asked for my keys.

The personnel at the U-Haul storage location on Chillum Road in Hyattsville, Maryland were pleasant and answered all of my questions. I was disappointed however, that it was not explained to me in advance that in order to get one month free or discounted on my storage unit that a truck would have to be reserved and brought to the Hyattsville location from another U-Haul location. That was not disclosed early on. Therefore, I reserved a truck online from the Hyattsville location planning to drop it off at the same location. Then the same day I came to sign my contract, I was told the truck would've had to come from another location and be dropped off to receive the promotion. Additionally, when I was first given the U-Haul storage access card, I was not shown how to use it and I was not told that I needed a specific lock for the storage unit. While the cashiers/customer representatives were nice, some key information was omitted and I had to keep going back to get the right information or for someone to show me how to do something.
They left someone else's lock on the trailer. If I hadn't had bolt cutters, I wouldn't have been able to use the trailer when I got home to load it up.
I would like a refund for the dolly which I paid for but never received.
My driver's license had faded on the back so I had to get my brother to use his to get the trailer. You could tell it is a valid license and I was not driving a trailer just pulling it with my own truck. Plus the trailer was old and beat up. Had two different size tires on one side. It worked fine. I could not pick up my trailer till 3:30 (per the first time offered online) but the trailer had been there for sometime. This put me in evening rush hour traffic which completely sucks when you are pulling a trailer.

Did not have equipment that I paid for and reserved
My experience was 20 times better than the one Ai had an hour earlier at the New Hampshire Avenue and RT 410 location. I and maa as my other customers had to leave and not complete our contracts because the @system was down†and they had no clue how to complete a transaction on paper. No “plan B†means they lost a lot of business and had many unhappy customers, including me. I will never go there again and have already told friends and go workers not to go there. You might consider training them in how to do this to prevent future bad incidents.
The truck was dirty, I had to clean it up before I drove off
Every month I called to put my credit card on auto pay and every month I'd get charged a late payment fee. Next time I look for storage I'm putting Uhaul at the bottom of my list.
Mr. Kotoriy & his staff are very professional. The store is always clan, well lit and accessible. I've been doing business there for over 15yrs , that says alot.
There was some confusion with what I was told over the phone and when I got to the actual store. I was told that due to COVID-19 U-Haul was given all customers one month free storage, however when I got to the store on Chillum Rd that was not the case. The salesperson was kind and gave it to me anyway but said that the individuals from the call center work at different locations and that each store runs their own specials. I called the call center a second time about 24-hour storage and I was told that no U-Haul locations offer 24-hour service, but I was told differently at the location where I purchased. Of course the salesperson at the store was right about U-Haul offering 24-hour storage access. The individuals at the call center are very misinformed and should know what’s offered at ever location or should connect you to the store with the correct information.
The supervisor was great.
Everything was great. I only wish that my unit was on the ground floor.

Staff was helpful and friendly when moving in, but not when moving out (different staff).
The customer service rep was not very helpful. He mumbled, impossible to understand what he was saying. Place was dirty and not well kept. Customer service was 0 on a scale of 1-10. Mu daughter and I felt like we were bothering them teujf to rent a van and close out or rental space. You need to look at training your staff or replacing.
The storage unit had no light, all it came with was a box of rat poison. There was clear evidence of previous water leaks on the walls from the pipes that were exposed in the unit. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because my stuff was thankfully not damaged. As and aside - I was charged a late payment fee of $42 on what was sent to me as a $0 bill. It turns out the bill was not $0, so why was it sent like that?

Relatively easy check-in, clean facility. They had hand trucks to help move things but the stairs were cumbersome. Maybe ramps instead?
Purchased after hours access & pass. Packed, hired moving staff, only to arrive & not have access to facilities. 24 hour support/Manager did not answer phone. As a result, had to keep truck longer, pay for more miles & gas, and hire more moving staff. Horrible experience.
Didnt like the fact that you had to pay extra for off hour access
The unit I reserved was not the same size as the one I received. I was supposed to have a 10x13x7 unit. The unit I got was small, square, and was nowhere near 7 feet tall. When I asked in the office, I was told the size was correct and the staff member walked away from me. Found another storage unit in town and was much happier with the service and product.

Loved the convenience of the location, staff super cool,, 24hr access was a blessing. Reached out during tough time when I was behind on payment. Will never forget that and will definitely use facility again if I should need it. Pleasurable experiences with both rental unit and rental vans. Thank u all for working during these tough times!
Very convenient location but your guys need to work in the people at front desk the guy that Attended me Yesterday was very rude really bad attitude He keeps telling me that I do not have a reservation when I even show him the text messages from your guys with the reservation number in my name on it ,then he told me that my name it was incorrect and gave me an attitude and walks away from the desk and I told im a customer that’s not professional I told him that if he was mad because somebody misspell my name it wasn’t my issue you need to get my to whoever did the reservation for me he was very rude so unprofessional Try to charge me for the first month I tryed to explain to this guy I was told over the phone the first month is free then he told me that I wasn’t them that was the storage a block away even make me buy the wrong look when I clearly qasked him what kind of Lock is required
The young man who helped me was very professional and friendly.

We have still have issues that need to be resolved. Your company incorrectly towed the truck when it broke down. Messed me up big time ans we still need ro resolve my valuable property in my rental.
On December 14, 2019, I voluntarily vacated unit #4036. I was shocked to discover extensive rear area water damage in that destroyed much of my personal property (book, posters, and furniture).
Great team here. It is frustrating to move, they helped any way they could.

I had my stuff in storage for about 6 months, I arrived to retrieve my furniture it was destroyed with rat dropping and urine the insurance is a rip off they will try and find anything to avoid paying

My rental unit had a leak in the roof my belongings were ruined and what the water did not damage rats got into my storage and completed the rest of the damage

Facility is not air conditioned. There is no elevator to carry heavy boxes into and out of space - up and down ten steps. Closes too early in the evening for convenient access.
I always felt that my belongings were safe and secure.

Some wait time but they can't do too much about that. Most of the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Was able to rent a truck quickly on short noticed.

Delinquent storage account issue became problematic after receiving several emails re: auctioning. Balance kept increasing/auction date kept prolonging. Emails became harassing in nature.But good svc.
If i could have paid my storage fee late to keep ownership then it should have been communicated. Don't wait 1 year after my warning letters went out to ask for me to make a settlement after 12 months
Expensive compared to surrounding storage facilities. Customer service is average.
The outside storage bin always had a large puddle of water directly in front of the storage door. This seems to be an easy problem to fix but every time I went to the bin there was water.
At times there were not enough staff to accommodate the customers. It takes entirely too long to complete a transaction especially since it is done by computer.
This facility is riddled with mice. My property was destroyed. I moved out of my unit on 1/6/19. It took over a month for the manager to close out my unit causing me to get several notices and charges
Had to make a last minute change from another location right before closing. the staff was exceptionally helpful and even stayed after closing to make sure we got everything taken care of.
I have rented a storage from U'Haul in the past and I know how great your service is. that is why I would not think of trying any other.
Staff is very helpful, professional and courteous. They really helped me when I was in a bind.
Sometimes the bathrooms were unavailable for long periods. However for a very large facility and business, they were extremely dependable.

The staff was alwYs rude on the phone and in person. I had a lady Lucretia threaten to throw my stuff out. Its creepy and scary there after hours. It has a bad smell. The worst place to rent from.
The 24-hour access key card made the storage experience very convenient.
When I picked up my stuff, they were wet. My sofa got mold and mildew. I did not expect to find my stuff on this conditions. The lady was unprofessional and she was on her phone singing while she's as

The check-in times are just absurd. I rented a unit and truck and it took a total of 2 hours on separate days to get through the line, just unacceptable.
I stored a couch at this U-Haul for three weeks and had no problems. The facility was clean and secure and the employees were friendly and efficient.
I recently rented a storage unit for a month and closed it out after a week. I’m still receiving emails pertaining to that unit and I’m being requested to pay after the unit was closed. Ridiculous.

Most helpful when we were in a bind. The staff helped us figure out our options.
What was promised over the phone wasn't delivered in person. It turned out to be a much bigger headache for our employee.
It's a busy facility. Most of the staff is great. Getting in and out of the lot can be tricky.

The staff member who helped us was excellent and helpful - but the facility was badly understaffed, and we had to wait in line for almost an hour to be helped.

The check-in process was horrendous. There were 3 people in front of me and it took well over an hour to get checked in. Unacceptable. Hire additional people for the unused terminals.
Although very nice the customer service was poor because not enough people were available and had to wait an outrageous amount of time. (An hour plus and this was with a reservation)
I submitted my reservation via the online process. In store experience was favorable especially with the volume of customers. Customer service rated as above average. Thank you.

Recommend at least putting a ramp on either end, hard to load and unload always going up and down the stairs.
