I reserved the 26-footer for my move they call me an hour before time to start everything and tell me they do not have the 26-footer all they had available was 20 no one did anything to help me I had to pay more money in mileage more money in labor and more money to the movers for using the smaller truck set it took five more hours just unacceptable

You can discipline the rude and completely obnoxious employee who handled my return. The rental equipment was good, and frankly the check in by the refreshingly upbeat and helpful clerk was not only welcome but also surprising, the employee that handled my vehicle return was completely rude as well as completely unnecessary. This has insured that I will never patronage your location again. You have lost my business.

This store was amazing! Customer service from u haul (phone representative) was awful. They tried to get out of honoring their online promo. Acted as if they were doing me a favor by knocking it down to .79 cents per mile instead of the free they promised. The woman also hung up on me mid sentence.

Please stop advertising equipment you do not have. I had to struggle to find a dolley from a friend on the movinf day. I had called multiple times and reconfirmed online as well, before completing my reservation. You did confirm you had one. There was no apology nor compensation for the extra time I had to spend to go find a dolley. Poor service.

The personnel at the U-Haul storage location on Chillum Road in Hyattsville, Maryland were pleasant and answered all of my questions. I was disappointed however, that it was not explained to me in advance that in order to get one month free or discounted on my storage unit that a truck would have to be reserved and brought to the Hyattsville location from another U-Haul location. That was not disclosed early on. Therefore, I reserved a truck online from the Hyattsville location planning to drop it off at the same location. Then the same day I came to sign my contract, I was told the truck would've had to come from another location and be dropped off to receive the promotion. Additionally, when I was first given the U-Haul storage access card, I was not shown how to use it and I was not told that I needed a specific lock for the storage unit. While the cashiers/customer representatives were nice, some key information was omitted and I had to keep going back to get the right information or for someone to show me how to do something.

My driver's license had faded on the back so I had to get my brother to use his to get the trailer. You could tell it is a valid license and I was not driving a trailer just pulling it with my own truck. Plus the trailer was old and beat up. Had two different size tires on one side. It worked fine. I could not pick up my trailer till 3:30 (per the first time offered online) but the trailer had been there for sometime. This put me in evening rush hour traffic which completely sucks when you are pulling a trailer.

My experience was 20 times better than the one Ai had an hour earlier at the New Hampshire Avenue and RT 410 location. I and maa as my other customers had to leave and not complete our contracts because the @system was down” and they had no clue how to complete a transaction on paper. No “plan B” means they lost a lot of business and had many unhappy customers, including me. I will never go there again and have already told friends and go workers not to go there. You might consider training them in how to do this to prevent future bad incidents.

We waited 2 hours for the computer system to come up. During this time, there was one worker who made the situation worst with his tone and rude attitude. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS AGAIN OR RECOMMEND U-HAUL to anyone. The truck was on it's last leg, sounded as if the transmission has major issues. Fortunately, we were able to make it safely to our home w/o incident. I'm frustrated that we paid so much for so little in ways of service and convenience. As there wasn't good service nor ANY conveniences. We were utterly frustrated.

I would be helpful if vehicles are cleaned in between rentals to customers. My vehicles was dusty inside The seats had stains both (passenger and drivers seat) which leaves me to believe that it was not thoroughly cleaned in between the next customer rental! the man working to get my contract behind the counter was speaking very unclearly. even with the mask on. he didn't understand that I actually didn't want to buy the insurance yet it put it on anyways. He gave me the keys to a VERY un sanitized van. Cheese puffs on the floor and dirty wipes in the cup holders. TERRIBLE especially during these days. Jorge was a tremendous help and took the time to give me a new contract with a more clean vehicle. He personally walked with me to make sure it was indeed clean. The insurance was still on my contract but I do not blame Jorge for that, I blame the other man that was behind the counter. Give Jorge a raise or praise for actually serving customer service.

I pulled up to the location to drop off my tow dolly and was told I was at the wrong drop off spot in Hyattsville. I said well is it OK if I drop it off here? The person advised me that I could not drop it off there because I had already committed to the other drop off location and then if I try to drop it off here there would be a significant extra fee. I said well is it OK if I call the 800 number and see if they'll let me drop it off here. He said that I should just take it to where it was supposed to be dropped off. I went to take it to that location only to find out that that location was closed on Sundays. That location was also a fenced in lot so i couldn't just leave it there. So from that location i calmed uhaul 809 number and they told me to bring it back to where i had just left. They said that I have been given bad advice and it was no problem for me to leave it at the first location. This tacked on an extra hour and a half of driving in traffic in the Washington DC metro area with a tow dolly attached my minivan with three children under the age of 10 already exhausted from a three day weekend of camping. I was not amused. This comes on top of the last time I rented a tow dolly I had an unauthorized charge of 300 and some odd dollars tacked onto my bill that I don't have to dispute with a person who Was not good about returning calls or emails.,

Only one person there to open, who opened late. he complained the entire time about someone calling out making my check out time twice as long. This location also has a posted 5 mph in the parking lot and At 7 AM all the employees headed to the shop in the back are flying thru the parking lot. I was shocked how fast some of these people were driving.

There was some confusion with what I was told over the phone and when I got to the actual store. I was told that due to COVID-19 U-Haul was given all customers one month free storage, however when I got to the store on Chillum Rd that was not the case. The salesperson was kind and gave it to me anyway but said that the individuals from the call center work at different locations and that each store runs their own specials. I called the call center a second time about 24-hour storage and I was told that no U-Haul locations offer 24-hour service, but I was told differently at the location where I purchased. Of course the salesperson at the store was right about U-Haul offering 24-hour storage access. The individuals at the call center are very misinformed and should know what’s offered at ever location or should connect you to the store with the correct information.

How did y'all end up sticking me with a 26' truck!? You even called me the day before to confirm my 15' rental. This made my move 100x more difficult and dangerous. Customer service was great - you just need more people at this location… I came in at 7 o'clock on the dot and had to wait 20 minutes to pick up a truck (I had reserved/checked in online). And this is not the first time I've had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for service at this location. It seems no matter what time of the day I go there's always a long wait.

The worst experience, the man checking us in had no idea what was going on. He told me my reservation was canceled- not true but needed a manager to sort it out. Then after waiting over an hour to sort out my reservation, and driving 45 minutes home, the truck they gave me had a padlock on it from the previous customer and. I key to open it! So I had to drive back to have the lock cut. How could they not check that before giving it out again? Waste of time!

The storage unit had no light, all it came with was a box of rat poison. There was clear evidence of previous water leaks on the walls from the pipes that were exposed in the unit. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because my stuff was thankfully not damaged. As and aside - I was charged a late payment fee of $42 on what was sent to me as a $0 bill. It turns out the bill was not $0, so why was it sent like that?

The unit I reserved was not the same size as the one I received. I was supposed to have a 10x13x7 unit. The unit I got was small, square, and was nowhere near 7 feet tall. When I asked in the office, I was told the size was correct and the staff member walked away from me. Found another storage unit in town and was much happier with the service and product.
