The truck had a radiator light on. It barely putted up hills, .I couldn't see how fast I was going because there was no odometer light, and to make matters worst it had one head light. Walked in and was told they didn't have anything larger than 15 ft trucks. I was aggravated since before going there the website said they had 26 ft trucks. Walked out and was aggravated and was going to try a competitor but they did not have any large trucks available. So I went back to the website and it still showed 26 ft trucks available so I booked online walked back in less than 10 mins from the first time and got my truck. If it was available why did I have to book online?BRANDON P.
I was told when I picked up that it wouldn't be an issue if I was unable to drop the truck off at a different location than the one I selected when booking. I ended up trying to return it to this location and the employee was extremely rude and informed me I was unable to leave it there, I had to take it to the location I selected when booking which was 20 minutes away, unless I wanted to pay a fee of $100-$250 or more since it was a one-way rental. He was not helpful at all and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience and misunderstanding since I had been told differently by another employee the day before I when I picked it up.MISA L.

Initially tried calling. The phone would hang up after 6 rings. Tried calling a half a dozen times. We finally drove over to ask questions. Reserved van online. Vehicle was clean and it ran great. Tried calling again to say I was running over. I waited 20 minutes to talk to someone. Told the girl I was going to need truck another day plus needed help unloading.. Hired 2 guys for 2 hr minimum. ( A van does not take 2 hrs to Unload. Suggest you break It down to one hr minimum. We then got text message later on in day that I needed to contact dealer re being late. I was annoyed that I had to take time to call back. Of course, I had to wait 15 minutes to talk to someone. The woman that answered sounded gruff and annoyed. The help I hired was great! Excellent attitude and work ethic. This U Haul company should hire those 2 to work for them.Sharon E.

I pre-ordered a towing trailer online. The online trailer selector recommended one of the two trailers this location has. I booked the recommended trailer. After I picked the trailer up and brought it to location then tried to use it, it was the wrong trailer and was not going to work. I brought the trailer back and asked for a refund and talked with the manager about the situation to which he stated that we should have known it was not going to work when we picked the trailer up and the other type of towing trailer would not work for our vehicle. After he stated neither trailer would work for our vehicle I asked if I could be refunded. The manager said a refund would not be issued and that I should call the regional manager to discuss the situation and ask them for a refund. After waiting on the phone for 45 minutes then being disconnected I am sure this location has taken advantage of me. To anybody needing to rent equipment, do not rent from this location.ROBERT B.
Customer service was great as usual. The truck it's self was another issues. This was confirmed local truck. Bald tires on the front. 0 /32 of tread, and the box leaked water. I had a truck full of new mattresses in them. If they hadn't had plastic on them , they would have been destroyed. Doesn't seem like no inspection was done on that truck. I only drove 8 miles, but what if I wanted to go a lot more? Things could have been worse. Safety of the trucks should be number one priority. I was offered another truck but turned it down due to my not having time to wait. So customer service like a said is great. They are quick and informed.PENNY R.

Possibly not take an hour to do a 39 minute projected install for hitch wires. Not complaining, just saying that if it's going to take an hour, say it will be an hour for planning purposes. Overall, great experience.Kevin P.

Inside of truck cab reaked of smoke. Also I was charged $58 for fuel when I left the tank at half full. Same as I picked it up. Since it was no contact turn in, I have no proof. Very disappointing.Michael L.

You did a great job! You ordered my hitch but when it arrived without everything you scrambled and found another matching hitch at another store and ran and got it that evening. Not being able to directly contact the personnel at the location you are dealing with is very cumbersome and impersonal. Any problem or questions you may have take longer to resolve because of this indirect communication method.JP H.

The reservation was made for 4 pm pickup. We wanted to change it to 11 am. The make employee clerk rudely lied and said the truck was not available and gave a false explanation on how the trucks come in and are rented out and we must wait. He refused to call other locations and said go call the 1-800 number to see if there is another available. Upon calling, the Cust Serv, Rep Doraya immediately was helpful and changed the same truck to 11 am at the same location. Surprise!!! The female clerk was also acting like like she is doing us a favor by working their and was not happy at her job. One of the worst customer service experiencce. Later despite returning the truck on time and using the app to self return, the employees charge another $20 for "after hours service" which we are disputing. Will not recommend this location at all and might look for a company other than U Haul next time because of these two.MANGESH K.
The best part of the experience was the price compared to the other places around.. Other than that it wasnt a pleasant experience unfortunately. we reserved a uhaul a month early and the day before the pick we were informed we had to go 40 miles away because they rented out our truck. what was on paper was not what we were told . we had 2 different drop off times on paper and an earlier one in the computer when we asked for it to be fixed we were told they couldnt . there is a definitely a lack of communication going onJamie S.

We rented a Pick up truck and the gas was at a quarter of a tank. We drove the truck for a total of 15 miles and returned it at a quarter of a tank of gas. Apparently Uhaul has a policy that charges a service fee of $30 if the vehicle is returned under a quarter of a tank of gas and on top of it we were charged $24 for the gas mileage sending our bill from a comfortable $35 originally to $90. This is dirty business when you are setting people up for a minimal time and mileage use of a vehicle. I will never use the Uhaul on Erie Blvd in Hamilton Ohio or recommend them to anyone.Antonio H.
Need more lighting in the lot for safer night drops. I was a little uncomfortable checking out. I wouldn't suspect that I needed all of the pictures. I do understand why you need them though. Lol. Thanks Doug Gelsdouglas G.

We've had hitches put on 2 other vehicles at other Uhaul locations & did not have any issues. Unfortunately during this hitch installation there was damage (exterior scratches, gouges in plastic housing, broken cargo clips, etc.) caused to our vehicle. We asked the GM to see what happened & the GM told us to take photos & email it to him verse him stopping what he was doing to see our concern. Eventually the GM came and looked at the damage & took photos so he could start the claims process. I believe the employees need a bit more training on how to address customer issues. Damages & mistakes can occur during this type of installation, however it's better to take responsibility and tell the customer about it rather than the customer discovering them when looking at the new hitch. Our poor experience should be a great opportunity to improve how things are handled. I've spoken to the another UHaul representative afterwards; they understood my frustration & agree this could have been handled better. I look forward to our vehicle being repaired & the expense being covered by UHaul.Dane V.

Check equipment over. 2 low air pressure tires, couldn't load until I, the customer, left my storage unit and pumped them up. I was concerned about the amount of tread or lack of on tires. Upon getting a nail in one , your company called to have it fixed and then replaced ALL 4 tires which put my schedule back about 1/2 a day.PETER R.

I said no on the vehicle because the ignition switch was broken. It would not start with a turn of the key. I had to fidget with the key in the ignition for a couple minutes before it somehow actually started. Because of this the I had to keep the truck running the entire time I had it - from the time I picked it to the time I returned it. This cost me gas so I expect Uhaul to reimburse me for the wasted gas because I never turned it off. This included loading, unloading, refueling. I was afraid it would not start if I turned it off. The lady at the U-Haul drop off also witnessed the problem and asked me to keep it running so they could move it themselves. You need to inspect and repair these faulty ignition switches. They are ripping people by charging for gas that was not used. I went 25 miles and they charged me for 5 gallons of gas after I put 2 gallons of gas in it. By the way it was a van. Totally I rip off and illegalROBIN N.

I went to rent a uhaul Saturday and was told that the earliest 1 they had was Sunday at 330pm even though the 1 I went to get was there Saturday. Filled out my paperwork and then was told I had to return it by 930pm the same day? Upon returning it I could not get off of the lot due to too many trucks parked backwards, facing wrong way. Not within the lines? I had to pull wife's suv forwards and backwards numerous times then exit out of the exit only road on an extremely busy main road without having vision of cross traffic. Horrible experience with uhaul yesterday . I also had to go find which girl had the key in the yard eventhough it was reserved. What a joke. This location needs a real manager.ADAM G.

They sent me contracts over the phone, changing my 10000 insurance to none sometime in my 2 and a half years. They changed my door and lock without notification in October. Called me in May to tell me that I was broken in. My professional craftsman tools you can no longer purchase were stolen and I had no insurance. They did not try to resolve the issue. If I could leave zero stars, I would. The manager knows my concerns and doesn't seem to care. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had anywhere; my unit was not available as promised and so I had to get a larger more expensive unit to get truck unloaded. Staff was beyond rude, belligerent, and unaccommodating. My plan to prepay a year in advance has turned into looking for another facility who wants my business because I will not give another dime to this location. I was not given my promotional first month free. Also my key card did not work so I was unable to access my unit except during business hours. Also the property thinks it is okay to change the locks on your unit without notifying you. All the staff was friendly and nice but the guy who checked me in was extremely slow at his job and the experience was bad because all the extra info he asked me could have been done online when I booked the reservation and storage unit. I was in a hurry and between this guy doing everything super slow (even typed slow with one finger at a time) and having to provide more information put me behind schedule. Very unprofessional.
