1st of all, I always have problems with the app. After about 15 to 20 minutes it finally worked for me but at that time I was very frustrated! 2nd of all, the truck was basically on empty! Before I pulled out of the lock, the gas light came on. I expect to put gas back in it when I'm through, but I never expect to have to fill up to even get to where I'm going! The truck rented to me was not even road worthy. There were more things wrong with it than I can list. This truck was NOT safe, and not maintained at all. I had to return it in the first 15 miles and get a second truck which was not much better. Plus I lost $100 in the gas we put in the first truck which was not refunded.Ron O.

The staff were polite and tried to fix the issue. I have no issue with the staff, it is with the training they received. The wiring for my hitch would not work until I had the dealer reprogram the computer. The staff should have known this detail. Instead, I spent my time/effort renting trailer and going back to install site to learn it would not work. An entire day wasted. Your staff should be fully trained. This is corporate failure, not the individual employees.Blake B.

I rented a small trailer. This agent was going to send me on my way without hooking up electrical for brakes. After I asked about the electrical hook up the agent added a jumper plug that had frayed wires. The agent never checked to verify the brake lights on the trailer worked. when I went to disconnect the wiring harness at home the frayed wires caused several sparks. I was concerned this my cause a short in my electrical system. Before returning the trailer I used electrical tape on each wire for better safety.Steven G.

Attempted to pick up our truck at Danco Transmission in Fairfield and although I had the reservation in hand, there was no one in the office. After calling national number, was directed to the Hamilton location where everything went smoothly and there was great staffing. The good ratings are for Hamilton U-Haul - NOT Danco Fairfield location. They get an F and I will not use again.Glen K.
Have Austin take some classes on how to deal with customers. I was charged for a scratch that I absolutely did not do. I left a message on Austin's cell phone which he did not return. I went in the next day to discuss the situation with him. That interaction left me in tears and he was very rude. This was my first time renting a truck and I sure wish someone had walked around the vehicle before I used it and when I returned it. I did not damage this vehicle and I really believe Austin charged me because they had not noticed the scratch before I used it. He told me someone had to pay for that damage and it wasn't going to be him. I will not use U Haul again in the future.Deanna G.

My auto transport trailer blew a tire and lost a leaf spring. I had to call roadside assistance and they had to swap out the trailer on the side of I-40. The trailer had just been returned by another customer before I picked it up, so I don't know if this could have been prevented or was a result of road construction conditions in OK city. Also, the rental truck I received was in desperate need of a front end alignment. The steering pulled to the right the entire trip and the inside of the windshield was filthy. I don't fault the location as it seems the demand for equipment is too high everywhere.Byron W.

I understand you need stuff in place that if stuff happens but this location got so upset that my driver accidentally hit a car and made a small scratch on it. All the trucks have scratches because anyone who has a license can drive a Uhaul. They all have scratchesLarry W.
Was a bit worried about price I was charged for dolly. Item was entered incorrectly on first attempt. I wasn't 100% certain it was accurately corrected. I was also surprised I was the one who backed the truck out of a tight parking spot.James D.
I find it unacceptable that I would be given a 10ft truck with a broken left mirror especially while towing (my car). I was almost in an accident with a fire truck that I couldn't see while it's lights and sirens were on because of this issue. Further, the whole trip I had to bend my neck in a painful way for a drive over 900 miles. I counted on having a truck with working mirrors to safely change lanes, avoid cars, and other road debris.PATRICK O.

We got locked in the back gate after we dtipped if trailer we rented. The employee walked back to the building letting gate close behind her instead if making sure we got our truck out. The hitch they intended to install on my vehicle ended up being damaged and would not fit. Had to come back the next day for installation of a hitch that they brought in from another U-Haul location. I was initially charged for some damage to the truck that I didn't do ($1,200 worth). After submitting pictures and talking with customer service the issue has been resolved and my card is being refunded. The damage is hard to see unless you open the back which is not required when uploading pictures at the beginning of the rental period. Thankfully I had time stamped photos. The manager was helpful but definitely blamed me at first before all the information was gathered. Do yourself a favor and take pictures of every single dent and scratch. Uhaul- please fix this truck so no one else gets blamed for it. Who knows how many other people have been blamed for this damage and didn't have photos to back it up.Sarah C.

The van showed Oil change required everytime you start it. Also you charged me for 3 gallons of gas for driving the vehicle a total of 8 miles. I would hope the vehicle gets better than 2.7 miles to the gallon.Karen P.

My experience in trying schedule picking up and dropping off a uhaul online was wildly inconveniencing. When I would schedule a pickup and drop off time the email would confirm the time I selected. But when I go into my account to pick up a truck, the time changes to 15 minutes before the store closed. The time I scheduled to pick up and drop off the truck was always different from what actually showed up on my account. When I went to pick up my truck I had to go through customer support, reschedule and wait until the next morning to pick it up. Then when I went to drop it off at my selected location at the time I selected; which reflected in my email, was different than what showed up in my account. The drop off location was closed and I had no way to drop off a key. So I had to be redirected to another location, which was encumbering. I would not recommend using uhaul to anyone else who is trying to fit a tight schedule.Aidan W.

The truck was great and service inside was quick and easy. The only complaint I have is that when I went to check it back in when I was done because it was after business hours I had to use the online service. I didn't mind doing that but it wouldn't let me check it back in because it kept saying the mileage I put in as the final mileage was lower than what I started with. It wasn't it was 9 miles higher than what I started with. That needs to be fixed. Other than that it was really good.Andrea T.

Misleading information led me to believe that I would not get charged a cleaning fee if I had the vehicle returned clean as I received. it. That isn't the case. They slap that fee along with additional hidden fees automatically to maximize their profits. Beware renting from them.Jeff G.

Absolutely awful experience. I was lied to on numerous occasions. I was sent the wrong drop off location. I was told I would be getting a month free of storage and that my drop off location would be the storage unit. The address I wad sent was to a rural king. Which added 40 minutes to my drive from the detour and when I got to the storage facility they said it was the first they're hearing about me having a unit. The only reason I was able to get one was some just so happen to move out that day and the unit needed cleaned. The storage unit is also a lot smaller than I was told. The GM Austin Hobbs was incredibly unhelpful since he did not answer his phone a single time I called him but was texting the working at the facility to deal with it and that I was blowing up his phone but would never answer. Overall horrible experience all around. I was expecting a larger company to be more organized and not constantly lied to their customers and give them the run around but I was sadly mistaken.Brandon C. | First Impressions

There is no light in our unit, which made it very difficult to see. I had to use my phone's flashlight feature and direct it to the spots where items were being placed. Well the general manager was very rude and so was the female sales associate. The manager called me after I called customer service to extend my truck rental and they were supposed to extend til the next Monday night and didn't. So the manager calls me and gets rude with me and cussed me and then he hung up on me. The customer service line was no help as I was on the line for 2 hours and talked to 3 different people. I finally asked for whoever was in charge and I was told to call the president of that location and did so. The President was very nice and helpful. I just wish everyone there was as nice as he was. I won't be renting from that location ever again. I do not recommend that location. I also heard from someone later that they had the same problem with the same manager. Personally I don't think a 19 year old has any business being a store manager especially with his temper. He should be demoted or fired after treating multiple people this way. The disrespect was too much. I'm a customer and don't deserve that kind of treatment after I spent every penny I had on the truck and the storage unit. They sent me contracts over the phone, changing my 10000 insurance to none sometime in my 2 and a half years. They changed my door and lock without notification in October. Called me in May to tell me that I was broken in. My professional craftsman tools you can no longer purchase were stolen and I had no insurance. They did not try to resolve the issue. If I could leave zero stars, I would. The manager knows my concerns and doesn't seem to care. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had anywhere; my unit was not available as promised and so I had to get a larger more expensive unit to get truck unloaded. Staff was beyond rude, belligerent, and unaccommodating. My plan to prepay a year in advance has turned into looking for another facility who wants my business because I will not give another dime to this location. I was not given my promotional first month free. Also my key card did not work so I was unable to access my unit except during business hours. Also the property thinks it is okay to change the locks on your unit without notifying you. All the staff was friendly and nice but the guy who checked me in was extremely slow at his job and the experience was bad because all the extra info he asked me could have been done online when I booked the reservation and storage unit. I was in a hurry and between this guy doing everything super slow (even typed slow with one finger at a time) and having to provide more information put me behind schedule. Very unprofessional. The ramp to second floor is very steep which can be a bit of a challenge with transporting heavier items with or without a cart. Same with the uneven gap between loading ramp and where back of truck pulls up. Staff was nice and professional. Units and building were clean. My only issue was being on the top floor and having to move things up and back down the steep incline with my stuff. That was just too much for me.
