I asked to make sure that the appliance dolly and moving pads/blankets we paid for were in the truck we rented. The staff assured us it was there. So my boyfriend drove with the truck and I stayed behind with our car for a few minutes to take a call. When we got home the truck had no dolly or blankets. When we returned it and mentioned the lack of supplies, we were told that the staff came out with the blanket and dolly as my boyfriend pulled away with the truck. However, since I stayed behind I didn’t see anyone come out with a dolly or blankets. We were refused a refund for the supplies we didn’t receive.

my only issue was that someone had smoked in the truck before i got it and the deodorizer used to try and rectify it was over used and caused some respiratory problems for me for a few days afterward Other than that, the Hamden staff was terrific as always

The check engine light was on in the truck, it pulled to the right badly, needed an alignment. I returned the truck at 4:50, ten minutes before closing, and one of the employees told me he had already closed the register, saying I couldn't get my deposit back tonight. When I said its still before 5, he told me that being open until 5 really means I shouldn't be a jerk, and should get there before 4:30. Sorry I inconvienanced you pal. If you don't like your job perhaps you should find a different one, but don't take it out on me. dickwads.

A little disappointed I reserved a furniture mover and there were none when I arrived. They offer me a different dolly which was nice. But it wasn’t as helpful for the dresser I needed to move.

Get a better general manager. Mr. G charged my card twice and refunded twice. All because he did not check the right boxes before hitting submit. Had I not checked the itemized invoice, I would have walked out of the store overpaying. My bank account is a mess and now I'm short on my black friday funds.

Better communication with contact center on reservations. Booked one day rental but was called night before by associate and told truck needed to be returned within 6 hours. Truck needs maintenance: muffler, door hinge and front end work. Very dissatisfied with experience. Btw, truck was not rebooked for that evening. Rushed move for no reason.

This has nothing to do with the pickup location. However, I was called the day prior that I would need to drive over a hour to pick up the equipment I placed an order for a week prior. As I was doing a short-notice military move, this added a great deal of stress into the mix. There needs to be a better communication line between customers making reservations, the corporate centers that handle them, and the actual franchise stores.

There was a plate that held the wiring harness in place that ha was supposed to have 4 rivets to hold in place. 3 WERE MISSING. As the UHAUL person in Tampa said, "this should have never gone out like this. There must have been a short in the wiring going through the tubular frame which cause the tail lights to go on and off while driving at night. I had to pull the vehicle off, wait till morning and have another person follow me to Tampa and then follow me to the dropoff per UHAUL reference number 1741802, since Uhaul would not pick up the defective dolly. I have a video and recording of the loose wiring harness that was unsecure and also of the woman at the Tampa office saying that the Hamden office should have seen this... The poor service started in the Hartford location when I reserved a dolly a week in advance. They had three, one had no lights, the other only had one right light, the other had only a left tail light. They said they were going to cancel and credit my account. They didnt care.

I traveled 13 mile and had to put 18.00 in Gas because the staff did not put the correct fuel on the contract. Never had this problem before

Employees were great. Vehicle was new and easy to drive. Service was fast and easy. The only thing I noticed that could be improved was the counter area was blocked by lots of boxes and was awkward to get to. But that is minor and would not stop me from going there again.

Not only do they not honor their reservations, they don't even tell you you don't have a truck until the morning of your move. This ruined my moving plans. I called and an agent apologized and said my receipt would have a $50 credit to make up for the trouble, but that also didn't happen. I've used Uhaul MANY times in the past and this was by far the worst experience. To top it all off, when I went to the location to pick up at the new time they gave me, the truck was STILL not available. But it turned out they had a truck ready the whole time but simply hadn't put into the system. Very very poor organization from a normally great company.

Rented a ten footer for in town. Van had 82K+ miles and sure drove like it, Visor torn off, cab not clean, paperwork from two previous rentals still in cab, engine light on, back of van not cleaned. Did the job but could/should have been better .

The initial contact to make the reservations was great but the reps should tell customers that if the key is lost or in my case accidentally left in the rental where the doors locked your out of luck. I had to call a locksmith and paid $129.00 to get the van door open. When I explained to the rep that they should tell people that there’s only one key so keep it safe or you will be responsible for towing or unlocking it he looked at me like I was crazy.
