Alicia was so helpful! I've never rented a storage unit before and she explained everything and answered all of my questions. I was unloading a UHaul truck and had originally chosen to drop it off elsewhere, but my plans changed and she helped me change my "drop off" location to the same facility I was moving into, which made the process a lot easier and relieved a lot of stress. After having a difficult time picking up the truck in a different state earlier in the day, Alicia's willingness to help me out made a big impact on my overall experience with UHaul.

Celestine G.The U-Haul I rented had a key that would not work initally. The customer service rep on-site said it was a new key and told us how to work it (put in and pull out just a little). When we tried it again, the key was stuck inbetween the on - off position of the ignition and a locksmith was sent out to us. The locksmith said the wrong key was cut and we should not have been given the unit to use. I suggest next time there is an issue at the site, offer another vehicle as a replacement.

JAYMY B.I want to thank Darryl for his continuous excellent service. For that, I do give the location a 5 star rating, and yes I would recommend the location to a friend because of Darryl. However, I want to share my experience that morning with another gentleman who dtried to help me with my reservations, only to stop the process and tell me: “ you are not getting a truck from us and get out of hereâ€. He also told Darryl: “ he is being a Dickâ€. In front of me at the counter. I reserved the truck online, paid for it and uploaded my driver's license. As I arrived at the location, a gentleman proceeded to help me, he started to input all the information in the computer all over again. First he pulled the wrong address which I corrected. He wanted my driver's license, the name of a secondary contact and a credit card. I asked him what was the point of me making reservations on line, only to start the process all over again at the location. He said: with an undesirable attitude, “ nothing was in the system, I'm just doing what I'm toldâ€. He then flipped the monitor abruptly towards me to show me what he was looking at. I pulled my driver's license out and put it on the counter. Unfortunately, it fell out of my hand. He yelled: “ don't throw your license at meâ€. I told him I was sorry, it fell out of my hand and I didn't throw it at him. He continued being unfriendly. I told him I didn't like his attitude and I requested to speak with someone else. He said: “ I don't like yours either, you are not getting a truck, get out of hereâ€. I walked out and asked Darryl who was outside to help me. Darryl walked inside to the counter and asked the gentleman what was going on. The gentleman replied: “ he is being a dick. Darryl finalized the transaction. Everyone at the location is always very pleasant and helpful. Maybe some extra training or coaching for this gentleman is needed. I wish him well. This is an unfortunate situation that no customer should experience. Gracias
hussein M.This location was the nicest, cleanest, most organized and absolutely impeccable uHaul store I've ever had the pleasure of stepping into, and the staff was just as professional and personable. All uHaul store should be this nice!! A++ and a bottle of Rum!!!
Juanita G.The morning staff who processed my rental were excellent. The afternoon staff were poor. When I reviewed the final receipt I received by email I realized I was overcharged by more than $50. (The estimated charge for the rental was $72.35 assuming I was traveling 60 miles. I only traveled 51 miles and I was charged $120.63.) I now need to take time to return to the rental office to request a refund. This is totally unacceptable. When I left the office after returning the truck, I was told that I would receive a final receipt via email, I trusted that the afternoon attendants would do their job satisfactorily and THEY DID NOT. NOTE: I have rented from this facility several times in the past and this is the first time I have had this problem.

Dwayne B.Knowing where to go wasn't intuitive. Also, the van wasn't where it was supposed to be. If it was warm I would not have cared but it was very cold which made the experience unpleasant at times.
Michael S.I was charged for gas when I returned the truck with the exact same amount of fuel that was in it when I received it. When I called to get a refund, I was given a 30 to 40 minute wait time. I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company. I will not waste nearly an hour of my time to rectify your mistake.

Worst customer service the people that work here are rude,nasty and don't know what their doing. They have units available for rent on the website but there are no actual units to rented. Today was a nightmare on top of the fact that loving is already stressful.

I went to the front desk and they had no clue why somebody had cut it off. But there was a U-Haul lock on it that I couldn't open. I had to go to the front desk and have them help me. When I spoke with rep he said I never should have put gas in the vehicle, I over filled it. Paperwork says it is a 40 gallon tank. 9 gallons is just shy of a 1/4 of the tank. I was being honest and feel like I am trying to be scammed.

I rented 6 x 9 trailer on Friday morning for three days, I had to return it late afternoon on Friday, same day and it was received by Noah who promised to give me a discount because I didn't even use it since the worker I've counted on didn't show up. Unfortunately , That did not happen. I received an invoice Monday morning charging me for three full days plus an after hour charge of $20. I called customer service and was on hold for a long period of time so I decided to drive to the store in Groton to explain to them what happened. They promised to correct it. I have not seen any adjustments yet.

JOSEPH P.Mileage was off by 3 miles when I picked up the truck. I informed the attendant, who said he would adjust it in the computer. The sheet I was given also indicated the fuel tank was at half. The needle was a little below when I got in, but I didn't bother about it as I was only making a short run. I reset the trip odometer and when I returned the truck, I noted that I had traveled 17 miles. At dropoff, I waited a few moments for the rep, and when no one came I went into the store to complete the transaction. At that point the attendant came in from outside and said I was good to go. He did not give me a new, updated receipt. So when I received the emailed receipt indicating that the tank was 1/4 full on return and charging me $36.75 for seven gallons of gas, I was not happy, to say the least. I called the store number but reached a national call-in line instead. From there I was transferred to different customer service line, where a recording said it was a 15-20 minute wait, and that to save my place in line I could request a call-back, which I did. The call did not come for another 2 1/2 hours. During that call, the rep asked me if I had "taken a picture" of the gas gauge. The thought never crossed my mind, since I didn't think U-Haul would either try to cheat me on fuel or be negligent in recording the fuel use. The rep said the store manager would call me in two to three business days. Three days later I got an email saying I'd be refunded $25 as a "one-time" courtesy. At U-Haul's charge of $5.25 a gallon, that still means they think I used more than 2 gallons of fuel to travel 17 miles. The real courtesy would have been to accurately record the actual fuel level and amount used at the time of the rental. At least the truck was new and clean. Overall a pretty unsatisfactory customer experience.

Robert H.I rented an appliance hand truck along with the moving truck. I got to my apartment before I found out the hand truck was NOT in the back of the truck. I was told the truck had 1/4 tank of gas, when I got in it the gauge read empty, I had to get gas immediately. While pumping gas I noticed the truck had been side swiped recently, so recently that dirt was still caked along the entire side. I brought the truck straight and told the girl at the counter that the truck was in an accident, she rudely told me they knew about it. I said I wish they had told me.

Randy R. | First ImpressionsThe only thing I would not recommend is the self storage. There's hardly any parking and only 1 elevator which makes moving extremely difficult. I had a small storage unit which was barely even half full, moving out took over an hour because of the excessive elevator wait times. We had to ask people to move their cars so we could use 1 of the designated truck parking spots. Other people moving were holding the elevator while they loaded there items. At 1 point the elevator doors opened but we couldn't get in because someone had the elevator full of their things. I won't use the self storage ever again. I will purchase boxes and use the trucks. The front office staff is always very helpful.

KEVIN D.First of all it wasn't even the location I wanted to have to go get the equipment. I made a reservation in Warwick RHODE ISLAND and was told it will be there but there is a possibility that I might have to pick it up a little further. I DID NOT expect you sending me to CONNECTICUT into another STATE to pick it up. COMPLETE EFFING BULLSHIT on uhaul. I understand people are flocking out of New England and you get short on equipment but you still have a responsibility for reservations. Why don't you spend a little to pay a flat bed and load it up with trailers and have a big delivery made to the low area?? At least WITHIN THE STATE OF A RESERVATION. Everthing else was a good experience.

David C. | Overall ExperiencePro-rating should be available with regards to monthly bills/move-in/out dates. For instance I rented a unit all winter, including the first week of May. Even though I vacated the unit in early May, U_Haul kept my full payment for the whole month. I feel I should have been refunded for the unused time as it would be immediately available to the next customer. Getting half a month's refund when you check-out would make customers feel good about continuing to use the service.

My unit keeps setting off alarms for other units that are not yet rented. That can be painful on the ear drums.

Rolland V. | Overall ExperienceWas there twice this week. On Wednesday 9/9 and on Saturday 9/12. On Wednesday when I arrived very early at the opening of the facility...the man that opened it was very kind and helpful. He answered all my questions and made me feel better by his courtesy and answers. The move for me (from NC to CT by myself was a traumatic move, unexpected, expensive, stressful and intense taking three months total of work. ) on Saturday when I came in to pay and/sign up for the storage units (two units 10 X 10 and side by side the man that helped me didn't speak. He was quite different from the man that had helped me on Wednesday. The man on Wednesday was white and his name started with a "D". The man on Saturday was African American and was tall and thin. He did a good job and showed me how to use the key card, how and where to enter the building (the building was 3 stories) and then how to take the elevator and location of the two side by side units. Then showed me how to exit the building and key out. He did a good job at accomplishing the job actions, but he would not speak, smile, respond or say anything. He was good at his job but just would have been more helpful if he spoke. I tried to engage in some light conversation as he walked with me to show me to the unit but you couldn't get him to say a word. He answered questions about the storage unit, etc. It just would of been a bit more nicer if he had been like the other man and tried to speak. It would of helped me feel less awkward. Otherwise he did a very thorough job. Was clear with instructions, with showing me how to do everything and making sure I understood and could do everything. I just wanted him to speak, so I would feel more at ease and less awkward.
