The 20' truck we rented simply wasn't there when we arrived for pick up. There was no proactive communication and we were simply given a 15' truck instead with no apology for the inconvenience - a simple shoulder shrug like oh well. We were 30 minutes late to working with our movers due to this issue. Unfortunate experience that seems like it could be avoided by double checking bookings beforehand.ROBERT Z.
It would help if parking were in one lot and the rentals were in the second lot for both pick up and return. It was hectic trying to find parking amongst the rentals. Then trying to find the right return location and getting my car out of the lot with many other cars double parked while people picked up rentals could have been easier. This was the worst experience ever I placed the order on May 12 for 6:30am pick up. I was not able to pick up to 9am because they did not have my order even though i had a confirmation from 2 weeks ago they blamed it on corporate not sending it. Then they have a Scam were they give you the truck with a Quarter gas we only drove 20 miles but had to pay 70 plus dollars to refuel the truck because although it is 4.50 a gallon for every gallon you use if you bring it back at a QT apparently it is considered a refuel for all the gas and I bet you they give every car at a quater for this scam. This was one of the worst experience ever! i tried calling corporate and spent 1 hour on wait. This is not acceptable they gave me the truck 2.5 hours late.I am very upset with U-HaulALEXANDER R.

Make sure to have the equipment that was rented available. I rented 4 furniture dollies and when I arrived was told they had none, but that they had them available for purchase if I wanted to. In order to make sure I can still move into my home, I had to purchase 4 of their furniture dollies! So ridiculous! Then on top of that, the location forgot to provide me with my utility dolly inside the truck, so did not have that during my move.DERRICK D.

Train your staff to accurately process basic paperwork into the system without the misappropriation of charges ......I was charged 140 dollars for insurance which I deselected in the beginning....because I have my own policy through progressive already as an every day motorist.....(normal ) Was given the wrong pricing upon returning the vehicle... and the staff who was receiving the vehicle that day which included the store manager apparently...all gave attitudes when I inquired as to the itemized Bill being printed for review....(interesting ) Within the 1st minute of me looking over the screen i found the discrepancy.....I could see there was an extra charge there spiking the bill another 140 dollars for insurance I didn't opt for . Both employee and manager insisted that â€œIâ€ must have taken the policy out .... Which is laughable....why would I pay for 2 simultaneous insurance policy's.....smh It's ridiculous...... You guys need to be straight up with customers , and should train your staff to handle things to a certain standard.... Not to falsify contracts to get bigger tickets .... This is a disgrace how it's being run...... No I won't recommend.... Last time I rent here .....periodSEAN G.

Totally disordered when you give back the truck , there are persons going in different directions and nobody tell you that you can't checkout inside . You go inside for checkout and they tell you aggressively that you have nothing to do there . The person outside that is looking your truck says â€œyou have to wait and you have to go insideâ€ . The issue was handled and I was super satisfied with the personnel who handled the situation including Byron who was professional, friendly and knowledgeable about his job. UHAUL employees completely incompetent and unable to interface with their own reservation system. After over an hour and 6 people involved to simply deliver the truck from my corporate account reservation (the parte dedicated to the pros) I had to do a new walk in reservation and pay from my pocket the full rate account. In addition to all the aggravations when I returned the truck they charged me additional fuel charges disputing the line to be 1mm over where I received (false)CRISTIANO M.

I was very pleased with our entire van rental experience at the 1000 NE 1st Ave, Miami location. Our van was ready and spotlessly clean at the time of pick-up and the staff was helpful and thorough in answering our questions. On drop-off, my husband accidently left his home and car keys attached to the van key, not realizing it until ca. 15 mins after he left. The staff was extremely helpful in contacting the customer who had already picked up the van and getting our keys returned. I was apprehensive about this rental experience, reading negative reviews at many other UHaul locations, but we were very happy and appreciative of how we were treated and would return again if we need to rent a van again.Michael S.

I rented this Uhaul early to ensure it was ready when I needed to move. I called ahead to confirm the day before that I could pick it up at 6am. THE UHAUL was blocked in by another UHAUL. That facility is awful! Highly inconvenient and unsafe! I wouldn't recommend that place to an enemy much less a friend. I gave them a "Below Average" because the workers are nice but they could never problem solve. The elevator is always broken, not just this year when they upgraded. What's the point of a storage facility where you can't get to your stuff? The last approximately 5 months I've had to walk up 5 flights of freight stairs and walk through dark hallways where often times I'm encountering vagrants. At one point a couple years ago the elevator was broken I asked that an employee escort me stairs because yet again the elevator was broken and they refused due to their own safety too. I consider this to be a major problem due to the fact that if anything happens to anyone there is no security cameras according to the office. I have paid this storage for a year. Hired a moving truck and crew to put some more items and pick up some of what I had there and found that the elevator wasnt working. Couldnt get my furniture out plus, I couldnt put the new stuff in this storage. Wasted a lot of time of the movers who charge hourly and had go to a new storage. They had to come back yesterday to get the resf of what I have in the storage get it down by the stairs with several movers in order to put everything on the same storage. I have been calling, texting, leaving messages and havent been able to talk to Hector the manager. I left my number, email and no reply. I had a terrible experience with this facility. I got stuck in the elevator for 30 mins with half of my things. Finally we got out, but my things stayed at the elevator for 5 days, until they fix it. I had to leave the rest of my things in the moving truck and hire new people for the unloading when elevator was fixed. I reserved my storage on the 7th floor, without letting me know that was burned a year ago and you still can breath the smoke in the floor. I needed to use a face mask every time I visit the storage. The unit was full of roaches, when I move out of the unit, it was infected of dead roaches. The place is disgusting, hot (not air conditioning) and dangerous due to the smoke. They I only stayed 2 months, and never got any discount or consideration after all I went through. It was the worst storage experience I ever had. The storage closes at 7pm, but there are access through the outside stairs leading to the floors, where homeless people come to stay for the night. Very dangerous. I don´t recommend this location to anybody. It was a nightmare for me dealing with the elevator, that breaks all the time according to people going there.OLGA P. | Overall Experience
While I would recommend this facility for renting Uhaul trucks, I would not recommend it for storage. It appears to have a mouse problem and I worry that our mattress will be attacked by mice.
