Everything went well until I returned the trailer. An older employee, who was servicing a UHaul van parked in the equipment return lane, asked me if I would back out, take the trailer to the side of the building, unhook it and leave it. I did so, backing the trailer into one of the marked trailer spaces. When I received the email receipt for the rental today, I see I was charged two days rental, when I had the equipment for less than two hours. I called the location, and a rep agreed to refund one days rental, which was done. The tax charged on two days rental was not adjusted and refunded, however.DAVID H.

I would recommend it to a friend but only if they have the equipment cleaner. The 5x8 trailer I rented, the inside smelled like dead rotten fish. And now all my furniture smells like it. When I dropped it back off the guy smelled it and all he could say afterwards was-oh sorry about that. No discount or anything just a oh sorry about that.Ryan N.

Maybe have some type.of seat belts or bands attached to the walls of the storage areas to be able to tightly secure items while in transport. This way a customer can rest assure the shifting is miminalized and they don't have to.rely on other items protecting other items during transport.DAWN P.

I was rescheduled 3 times without notice...I drove a total of 100 miles an 6 hours my own time, driving my on car around to go pick a schedule truck up that they kept messing up for 2 days with my 8 years old daughtet. The job took 33 miles n 1 hour n 30 mins..smfh. So recap to vet truck 2 days...3 round trips of over 100 miles on my own car that took a total of 6 hours to do a 1 hour an 30 mins job n drove a total of 33 miles in the u haul.. they should should paying me. Very unprofessional. No kept contact with the customer. Everyone kept saying idunno n I'm sorry it wasn't me. smfh..NEVER AGAIN U HAULBrandon M.

6 Sometimes unforeseen circumstance arise that require changes to original plan most often this does affect timei involved what was only supposed to take a couple hours and be done could turn into an unpleasant landslide of events that could take days to complete ... Mama said "Dont Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch" So trying to steer customers into 4 hour or 24 hour time slots ONLY ? From start to finish this was the smoothest part of my move. The customer service at the location was top notch! When we got there the woman was using two computers to make things go faster (and there were only two people in the store). I always clean up a truck inside and outside first before return This truck was cleaner after i used it than when i get in It ride ok and do the task intended quite well the fuel level at pickup was below 1/2 line not over so had to make sure paperwork was adjusted to show exactly that Gas is not cheap which side of the 1/2 line is 10 dollars differenceJOHN Z.

Reserved trucks online to make pick up faster, filled out all the info and uploaded license to save time, just to get to location and have to repeat everything cause uhaul employee informed me that uhaul online is not in their system. Got truck assigned and it was never cleaned at all from previous renters. Then turned it in and girl was more worried about sitting on bench listening to music while manager washed his personal vehicle. Just felt like customers aren't really important. But always used this location due to convenient location, this time was the only time unsatisfied with service.Ryan R.

I had a difficult time with the directions given, even with a map (which only includes the one or two buildings building) I also had tons of issues with the alarm system (after hours) I'd "clock" in one one & use my code on the others for the door opening & the alarm but the alarm would go off all the time as we were unpacking. Sometimes it would go off not even involving a door or the unit, merely walking for another trip. I can honestly say the alarm went off over 10 times & it was extremely annoying having to go back out to key in my code, which at times didn't even stop the alarm. Not only once but twice after re locating units mice destroyed my belongings! The first time I was told it would be resolved in a timely fashion… it took months and they only covered movers to move my remaining un damaged items. The second after taking a huge loss the first time destroyed my tv all clothes furniture with mice bites and so much more. When asking to speak with someone again was told to make a phone call which I did not!!! Instead I had to wait 45 mins to talk to someone and was brushed off! 5 dead mice were in my unit! The employees were great! They were very and friendly and helpful when things were going wrong. The things that went wrong, were crazzzyyy tho. 1. Auto pay system wouldn't autopay leaving my account unpaid. Kind of a big issue. 2. They decided to redo concrete and close the access door without any warning, notice or even telling the employees when it would be done. After I hired a babysitter so my husband and I could go sort through everything in our unit we couldn't access it. The main number we called only went to a national line. People at the location wouldn't answer the phone. I couldn't go in while theRe were open office hours. The manager wouldn't call me back. No one knew when we could get back in. We had to just keep driving by to see if it was open. I don't even feel like listing the rest of the issues. I moved out of my storage on Nov 1 , I called and closed my account . I moved out of state and they still charged me for rent and late fees. No one checks those units or they would have double checked and that would have verified my move out. When your moving 500 miles away you don't think to take names so I can't remember who it was that I spoke to that did not close out my account. My wife and I spent about $7k with uhaul moving and they want to be greedy and get one more month and late fees . I will take this up with my bank and credit card company. I had my belongings in the uhaul in Glen burnie md. The one gentleman that help me was great. I had my things there for a year and some months. When I went one day there was mouse traps everywhere. I was very upset that I was not noticed about the problem , but then thought it would be best that I removers my things a.s.a.p ( that day). The people that were working there did not really think nothing of it. So now I have to spend money to put my things somewheres else and I have to get all my furniture cleaned. For the time I was there I felt confident that my things were safe but it did nothing but cost me more money . I would not recommend uhaul to anyone. Storage reservation not documented on the phone call. I was told that she would reserve the 5x10 but I could check on moving day if bigger unit was available.Nothing on reservation information mailed after the call confirmed the storage reservation. Day of pick up was provided a storage space and requested 24 hr access. Arrived at 9:45 pm and could not enter the unit. Called 24 hr surveillance number and no answer at the intercom. Called number posted that went to voicemail and then to sieve. Called National Uhaul customer service who suggested we text the number. I have screen shots of the text. Went in after 7 to report in person but But no response until 10:15am the next day asking about the truck return from the general manager.Recounted the lost hours of moving time because we could not unload the vehicle. She explained that there was an additional step for 24 hr access that had not been explained. She said she would extend the contract after speaking to other customers with reservations. No return call was given and I am now unable to get anyone to answer the line at 4:38 pm. ( location closes at 6). Moving is stressful enough without depending on transportation and storage from a center that not paying attention to the details.Gina J. | First Impressions

The units are infested with mice and rats. The tenants aren't aware of the current problem unless they notify the manager about their unit having mice droplets and urine on their belongings. Wish I received a credit for the days I did not use for the Month of September since I moved out of my unit Sept 18th. There was mice droppings in my unit when I move in August. Excellent storage facility. Very clean. Grateful for enclosed space to load and unload. Only complaint was that we signed up for automatic credit card payment when we first rented the unit and it was not deducted. So we incurred a late fee and had to sign-up again. I've rented a 10x15 unit. Everything is great--except that location's storage unit assignment process. As you likely know, a 10x15 is actually and 5x10 combined with a 10x10 unit. I would like to have units as close to the elevator as possible. Alas, Uhauls "policy" is that they have to be right next to each other. Only complaint, is only one elevator for the back facility. While it is centrally located, my unit was at the far end and it was quite a walk. Not an issue unless moving in a full truck of stuff. Also, make sure to go one size up from what you think you will need. My original selection was WAY too small. I had a hitch installed at your Bolingbrook, Illinois and rented a trailer from Ottawa, Illinois to move our stuff to Annapolis. We had excellent check-in support and got our stuff moved in. But I found that the installer of the lighting harness forgot to re-bolt our left tail light and we found it dangling precariously when we unhitched the railer. Just wish someone would have mentioned the need to purchase a lock. I originally rented a storage unit but upgraded once we saw the drive up units. I went inside and spoke with staff, very easy process and staff were very friendly. Upgraded our unit and drove to the back again only to have another staff member remove the lock but not even speak to us. We said hello and thank you but he just walked away. We loaded our items into the unit thinking that the man would come back with a lock but we ended going back into the store to buy a lock and then again to return to the unit to lock our unit. The first employee that helped me had no idea what she was doing. It was packed. I spent almost 3 hours at the facility, but system went down & phones went out, so it wasn't their fault. The girl asked for assistance numerous times from other employees. They gave me a unit and someone else walked me down to the unit & unlocked it. However the girl didn't give me a lock. I had to walk back up to the office which was a long walk. Someone else helped me this time and was much more knowledgeable. Walked back down to the unit and locked it. Then went back in and stood in a very long line again until I was finally checked in & did all the paperwork. Luckily I got someone else this time. Perhaps the first girl was new. Maybe you should have them well trained prior to checking people in. Everyone was very pleasant though, even when things were very busy. Check in was slow and the alarm went off when I accessed my unit because my code hadn't been activated. It's reasonable to assume that when people rent a storage unit, they are going to put stuff in it right away, and will not enjoy hearing a loud alarm when they do so. Additionally, it's absurd that I need to provide two contact people's information for my storage facility that only I will ever access. Being told "this is our policy" rather than the reason for the policy is not acceptable.
