Attitude of this location - Great. To the rest of my experience- I will NEVER use U-Haul again. You should be ashamed of the practices up until this point.

Anthony GWhen we picked up the trailer and hooked it up, the running lights did not work. Turn signals etc. worked. We asked about getting a different trailer and the young man hooking it up said we would be fine because all the other lights worked. We took the trailer trusting your employees "expertise". 20 minutes after leaving our home, none of the lights worked. I had to follow behind my husband driving towing the trailer to prevent an accident on the highway, due to no brake lights/turn signals. We have rented here before, with no issues. Hopefully this was just a fluke and not normal practice.

RA'NIYA BI was surprised a trailer wasn't assigned to me before I arrived. It took several minutes for the employee to find a trailer that was approved for a one way rental. I think this should have been done before I arrived. Otherwise no problems.

TERRY SThe equipment was cleaned The trucks do need to be checked better however the first truck had a CEL on 9 codes, they did switch us out but the 2nd ended up leaking on during travels, it was an inconvenience to keep stopping to keep checking the oil dipstick which was missing an oil cap when we popped the hood! It was a bad experience but I would still recommend because things can happen but however like I said the trucks need to be inspected better before renting, we pay all that money to be inconvenienced, so therefore I was not satisfied.
Christina RI asked a U-Haul employee how to read the fuel gauge on the Ram Van. After he explained it, I asked if I needed to refuel since the gauge still showed full. He assured me that I didn't have to. However, when I checked my e-receipt later, I saw a $13.50 fuel charge. Had I been given the correct information, I would have refueled myself.

BRIAN JI pickup a cargo van at 1.30 pm dropped after 6pm, returned my self within app, I drove glen burnie to 333 Stonewall Road, Catonsville, MD. 13 miles from my home, (up and down max 60 miles) I drove twice up and down to pickup some old furniture. After 4 hr 30 min I returned this van to Glen burnie center, and I saw total charged came $262, miles shows 269, I am so surprised how this miles came from? Is this scam or a trap to get money from customers ? I am totally shocked, and I don't have solid evidence to prof that I am correct, I forget to keep a photo before enter the car. But it make me nuts 4hr 30 min drive Glen burnie MD to Catonsville MD - system shows 269 miles I drove? How come ? What kind of mechanism you guys have ? Thanks, Alex karmokar
ALEX KThe drivers side door barely closed looked like it had been hit and half repaired. Front bumper was falling off. Instead of them pulling the truck closer to the building I had to walk all the way around and behind a building to locate the truck. Returning would have also been a nightmare but the one worker that we finally saw said she'd take care of the check in with 2 others in front of me - thank you!! That woman deserves a raise, she was staying passed her shift to get people checked in! This location needs to hire more adults that are allowed to drive the trucks themselves… there were a few kids in uhaul shirts standing around but they were of no help, though the one did instruct me to walk all the way down and behind the building to find my truck. At one point the truck wouldn't even start - you had to give it gas to turn over - that's not mechanically sound. No wonder everyone is forced to buy the insurance, I was waiting for the thing to blow up or fall apart.

RICHARD TVery disappointed that I got charged almost $160 for only 7 days of storage and can't get refunded for the rest out of the 30 days. I got auto charged on the beginning of the month and took my belongings out on the 7th and basically got charged $160 for only 7 days which I believe that's unfair is not like everybody's rich I am a disabled person and yet I still got charged so much money and then it's in the paperwork but then again I think that that shouldn't be happening y'all be in thieves at the end of the day y'all stealing people from poor people that actually can't even afford it and they trying to struggle to try to pay it every month and you have not being considerate for good loyal customers that's very sad. Look for this issue I think I would never go back to U-Haul to use it again not even to rent vans or trucks is very disappointing. I would never recommend you home and all to nobody I would let them know what was my experience that I was very disappointed

I understand stand that it may of been a strange situation but after we reach a "solution" to my problem you failed to fix the original ticket nor leave any notes for the drop off location. The truck was nice but your follow thru was poor so in the end created more problems.

John B | Overall ExperienceThe entrance is beyond unacceptable. There is only one way in. I tried returning the truck but dumb customers had the entrance blocked. Costed me money and precious time having to do it the next day. Also I had rented an outside unit, which I had to switch to indoors. It was completed filthy. I tried cleaning it myself but the dust was overwhelming. I actually will just cancel the storage unit there altogether. Can not risk blocked access again. Clearly the return area should not be at the front entrance. They have prioritized their own convenience over rational common sense. The truck ran fine but the check engine light was on. Plenty trucks were available. Why rent any with CEL illumination? Staff was very professional and accommodating. However the overall location needs some attention. Maybe simply check the inventory once a day. I took pictures of this all. Happy to share them if need be. Be well.
Quincy SThere were some French fries and what looked like dipping sauce on the front floor between the seats, but other than that it was clean. The young boys working the front could be heard in the back and after waiting about 8 minutes and another customer walking in I went to look for help and they were just sitting in the break room hanging out. Once I found someone to help us everything went fine.

Eric RThis Uhaul place is amazing, and each month, we rent a 15ft truck to pick up our food from the ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY FOOD BANK to give out to all those in need of food living in our county through our curbside Food Pantry, Harvest Resources is a nonprofit, and we only rent from this location because of the service and the trucks are always clean and ready to go. And just yesterday I was joking about was the truck warmed up and ready to go, the nice young lady said yes, and she said I will grab the truck for you and wait here inside. She went above and beyond to serve me and all the staff at this location are friendly and nice.

Everyone was great helping to get that fixed and get the third box shipped in time for our move in BUT it should never have happened. How is it possible to have an order for 3 containers and only ship 2 of the 3? Serious error that caused us a lot of anxiety.
Helen SNo one walked me to the truck, when I asked them to show me which truck was mine because the snow was covering the letters told to me, they all just sat there, and rolled their eyes. I had to check 3 different trucks to see which one was the truck I ordered. After the third attempt ten minutes later, I had to take the advertisement off the windshield. Then drive it over a pile of snow to even get out of the parking lot, so no one shoveled the snow from in front of the trucks. When I returned the truck all they said " do you want the receipt emailed or printed", handed me the receipt and went on with their day. So I do not recommend this location nor will be using their service again.
ASHLEY DI would not recommend uhaul any longer after my experience with the truck but thankfully Kai was nice enough to help load my car onto the transport and in doing so, discovered that neither chains were suitable for transport and switched them out for me.
ASHLEY BI was booking my rental online at 1AM while I was in bed. The internet rate was just under $19.00. I was too lazy to get up out of bed to go get my wallet so I decided to go to the store in the morning and pick up the trailer. To my surprise, the charge was $26.00. I decline both online and in person the additional insurance coverage and didn't get anything else other than the trailer. I asked the clerk why the difference and was told the internet rate is not accurate. I needed the trailer so I paid it. I understand it is only a few dollars but I don't like feeling I was ripped off

ALEJANDRO MI dislike being called the next day asking if I had returned the trailer. I always return the trailer. Ii've rented many, many times!! They should check their inventory FIRST before calling the customer!! Or perhaps their needs to be better communication between the front office and the staff who checks inventory!!

CHARLES MWhere do I start… well for starters the doors were being faulty one day and they came down on our vehicle damaging it. It was PULLING TEETH to get the manager to do her job and get us the insurance information. Like a whole month for her to get back to us finally. Then our unit was overlocked and took 8 days and me complaining at the front desk for someone to finally take the lock off!! Funny part is her own son who works there threw her under the bus with her not doing her job. I've never had issues with U-Haul before, it's just this location.

I was never contacted by the manager, actually I was contacted 3 days later after they sold my unit. Our entire life was in that unit so now we have nothing, all of our belongings gone because a manager couldn't be bothered to contact me. I hope this person is satisfied with themselves because they definitely are not doing your company any favors. I personally would like to know why they couldn't be bothered, if this is how you run a business than you won't be in business very long. I would like a reasonable answer to my question. As for a recommendation, I can't say I would ever sing your praises.

When I asked to have them to be moved to facilitate loading I was told that it was impossible as that equipment needs to stay in the place it was parked and I needed to work around the equipment. This added to the cost of my move on August 6, 2024. I guess cusiomer service is no longer provided in this day and age. I don't recommend this location anymore.

The number one issue with this location is the set-up outside for vehicles to new returned. They have recently put up a sign to not block the area, but it has not helped.

All I can think about is how many rodents were constantly crawling on all of my belongings. There has to be a huge infestation in the facility. The doors are almost too secure, to the point that it is stressful to get the code approved on keypad one and get to keypad two without being to early or late to start over.

They had there stuff all in the aisle making it harder to move. There should be a sign or something done about that.

I have paid over $15,000 to this place to keep my property safe but instead what I got was infestation of all my things. When I brought this problem to the manager all she said to me was "I told people not to put food in there and apparently someone was storing food in this facility at some time. I have waited over 2 1/2 years to get my things but to get them like that is Horrendous. This happened 3 weeks ago and I still have my things on the back of this UHaul truck trying to deal with the insurance company who has been very uncooperative and unresponsive. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY AT ALL or I promise you that you will be sorry. Horrible condition! Mice poop and dead mice Caucasus. This dispute still has not been resolved. Also, this problem was not just with my storage unit, it was also in my 3 uboxes as well. This place should be closed down immediately and permanently.

william M | First ImpressionsLet me start off by saying I was at this location for about 3 years, and im not one to take the time to leave a review...but this is necessary. The last year and a half at this location, has completely gone downhill. 1) There are mice and mouse poop all over the facility. The traps they put out don't do a thing and many of my neighbors were having issues with mice as well so I knew it wasn't just a random unit but an actual issue on the entire facility. The building needs to be exterminated and clearly they know there's an issue with the amount of traps that are set out. 2) I paid extra for 24-Hour access, and my card never worked. I was issued a new card probably close to 5 or 6 times in the last 3 years. The alarm on my unit never turned off when I would check in and anytime after the office closed when I went to my unit, the door alarm would go off the entire duration that the door was open while I was inside. It is loud and obnoxious and unnecessary if I'm swiping in to turn it off. 3) The location of the U-Haul truck drop off was the most inconvenient. My unit was an inside unit and the only way to get to it is driving around the right side of the building. You cannot drive fully around the building or on the left. The only way to get to any of the back units for the inside units from the loading dock is around the right side of the building. The truck drop off is also on the right side of the building. So anytime someone would drop a truck off, it is in the driveway to get around the building. If there aren't many trucks this is not an issue, however almost every single time I had to go to my unit, there were trucks in the way and you have to drive in the grass to get around them. There were many times that someone was still actively dropping off their truck and I had to as far to the left as they could so that people can get around them to go to their unit. Two weekends ago was my Breaking Point when I had to ask someone to move so I could get back to my unit, and 15 minutes later when I was ready to leave, another individual dropped off a car within that time frame and I got pinned in the back of the parking lot. When this happens you have to call the building manager to drive to the facility and move the trucks out of the way. That can sometimes take hours. The amount of inconvenience that this specific problem causes is one of the main reasons why I left. 4) The roll up doors around back we're always stuck open whenever I would show up, and there were many time that solicitors would be wondering around thr parking lot, asking people if they could badge them in. No one could ever tell if they were customers and had units and just forgot their swipe card, or if they were just trying to snoop around proples unlocked units. Either way it's a super sketchy feeling and as a cop myself, it made you feel very uncomfortable as if the facility itself was very unsecure. 5) 99% of the staff was airways incredibly rude, short with you when you had questions, and the attitude level that almost all of the staff had was unreal, like none of them ever wanted to be there. I don't know if the employees are being mistreated by upper management, or if they just need a moral building activity for whatever the issue is, but trying to communicate with any of them about anything was absolutely miserable. THE ONLY EMPLOYEE. and I literally mean the ONLY employee that I had a good experience with in all three years, was Alexander, and I unfortunately didn't meet him until the day I was moving out. When one of the miserable employees told me no to getting a rental truck, and didn't seem to want to work with me at all, Alexander helped me get one the same day only a couple hours later. He also helped me close out my storage unit when that same miserable employee was making it seem impossible and irritating. I really hope the upper management looks into hiring more employees like Alexander, who are as friendly, commutative, and hard working as he is, so that he doesn't become overwhelmed with the level of ignorance that is working beside him. I will personally never recommend this location to anyone I know. If leadership doesn't care about the employees, that'll trickle down to the employees not caring about the customers. Unfortunately, coustmer satisfaction is not a necessity here.

Sometimes it would go off not even involving a door or the unit, merely walking for another trip. I can honestly say the alarm went off over 10 times & it was extremely annoying having to go back out to key in my code, which at times didn't even stop the alarm. The customer service was phenomenal though, the actual services was a nuisance.

The first time I was told it would be resolved in a timely fashion… it took months and they only covered movers to move my remaining un damaged items. The second after taking a huge loss the first time destroyed my tv all clothes furniture with mice bites and so much more. When asking to speak with someone again was told to make a phone call which I did not!!! Instead I had to wait 45 mins to talk to someone and was brushed off! 5 dead mice were in my unit! STAY AWAY STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY IF YOU HAVE BELONGINGS YOU CHERISH! If I could rate a zero I would! Jay the owner is the worst manager I have ever dealt with and this just was a huge mistake!

Auto pay system wouldn't autopay leaving my account unpaid. Kind of a big issue. 2. They decided to redo concrete and close the access door without any warning, notice or even telling the employees when it would be done. After I hired a babysitter so my husband and I could go sort through everything in our unit we couldn't access it. The main number we called only went to a national line. People at the location wouldn't answer the phone. I couldn't go in while theRe were open office hours. The manager wouldn't call me back. No one knew when we could get back in. We had to just keep driving by to see if it was open. I don't even feel like listing the rest of the issues. We took our stuff out and moved it to a different unit to avoid these issues.

No one checks those units or they would have double checked and that would have verified my move out. When your moving 500 miles away you don't think to take names so I can't remember who it was that I spoke to that did not close out my account. My wife and I spent about $7k with uhaul moving and they want to be greedy and get one more month and late fees . I will take this up with my bank and credit card company. Next time I will go with Penske .

When I went one day there was mouse traps everywhere. I was very upset that I was not noticed about the problem , but then thought it would be best that I removers my things a.s.a.p ( that day). The people that were working there did not really think nothing of it. So now I have to spend money to put my things somewheres else and I have to get all my furniture cleaned. For the time I was there I felt confident that my things were safe but it did nothing but cost me more money . I would not recommend uhaul to anyone. I feel that this situation could have been handled with more concern for the customer

I was told that she would reserve the 5x10 but I could check on moving day if bigger unit was available.Nothing on reservation information mailed after the call confirmed the storage reservation. Day of pick up was provided a storage space and requested 24 hr access. Arrived at 9:45 pm and could not enter the unit. Called 24 hr surveillance number and no answer at the intercom. Called number posted that went to voicemail and then to sieve. Called National Uhaul customer service who suggested we text the number. I have screen shots of the text. Went in after 7 to report in person but But no response until 10:15am the next day asking about the truck return from the general manager.Recounted the lost hours of moving time because we could not unload the vehicle. She explained that there was an additional step for 24 hr access that had not been explained. She said she would extend the contract after speaking to other customers with reservations. No return call was given and I am now unable to get anyone to answer the line at 4:38 pm. ( location closes at 6). Moving is stressful enough without depending on transportation and storage from a center that not paying attention to the details.

As you likely know, a 10x15 is actually and 5x10 combined with a 10x10 unit. I would like to have units as close to the elevator as possible. Alas, Uhauls "policy" is that they have to be right next to each other. Hence, I've been assigned two units as far from the elevator as possible. It's a lot of extra effort to get my furniture items to/from the units.

Not an issue unless moving in a full truck of stuff. Also, make sure to go one size up from what you think you will need. My original selection was WAY too small. The facility was able to accommodate and update me to a larger size.

We had excellent check-in support and got our stuff moved in. But I found that the installer of the lighting harness forgot to re-bolt our left tail light and we found it dangling precariously when we unhitched the railer. The head mechanic at Glenn Burnie came out and fixed it even though it was late and he was leaving for the day. I hope you appreciate him as much as I did.

I went inside and spoke with staff, very easy process and staff were very friendly. Upgraded our unit and drove to the back again only to have another staff member remove the lock but not even speak to us. We said hello and thank you but he just walked away. We loaded our items into the unit thinking that the man would come back with a lock but we ended going back into the store to buy a lock and then again to return to the unit to lock our unit. Just would've been more convenient to know about the lock when we initially went in to the store for the upgrade.

Maybe you should have them well trained prior to checking people in. Everyone was very pleasant though, even when things were very busy. Also, our last name is spelled wrong

It's reasonable to assume that when people rent a storage unit, they are going to put stuff in it right away, and will not enjoy hearing a loud alarm when they do so. Additionally, it's absurd that I need to provide two contact people's information for my storage facility that only I will ever access. Being told "this is our policy" rather than the reason for the policy is not acceptable. Explain the reason behind your policy to your employees so that they can give a better answer when asked why -- or scrap a policy that makes no sense.
