Staff was overall pretty friendly but unfortunately, the pick up experience was bad. One single person behind the counter trying to attend to 2 different customers at the same time. Couldn't find the key to my 10' truck, so he changed the truck. But, then a different employee told me i couldn't take that truck! Had to change my truck again! I reserved online with credit card but the pick up took me over 1 hour!!!ADRIAN C.
This location was great! I did, however, have an issue with U-Haul. We reserved a truck online at a different location who said the truck wasn't available after we reserved. I called U-Haul customer service and was assured the truck would be available. They did not let us take the truck because someone had it reserved for Saturday. I only needed it for one night on a Thursday...We had to make a new reservation at this location. It doesn't make sense why an hour of our time was wasted driving around when U-Haul assured us we could have the truck originally, but the pickup store's system wouldn't let them give us the truck on Thursday because someone reserved it for Saturday? U-Haul needs to fix this communication issue between their systems and the pickup locations.KENNETH S.
The complaint is not with the facility that provided the Storage Unit... My complaint is with the U-HAUL scheduling & reservation system... It all was an "inconvenient mess"..! I had to call several times... The pick up facility for the truck rental was un-able to be contacted due to a disconnected phone number... I called the day before my pick up to affirm my reservation and re-assess my contractual agreement... I spoke to several agents in the "Transportation Center" several times the morning of the pick up and got another disconnected number... My CC was charged $30 more than what I was quoted over the phone by the reservation agent despite a very intentionally adamant conversation with the agent regarding that specific issue (i.e. Amount due at pick up). The person who did the contract at the facility for the pick up (a young lady) never asked for my signature and just did everything for my pick up of the truck on her phone... And, upon arrival to the storage facility the unit that I was quoted was not available when I got to the storage facility so I had to accept a different unit (a more expensive one). Throughout this entire experience I was making several phone calls to the "Transportation Center" and then the "Customer Service Center" and practically every time these calls were put on long "wait-time holds" and when finally connected to a live person the calls were disconnected..! This entire experience should be easily documented & confirmed as it is noted in all of these calls that you (i.e. U-HAUL) record these phone calls... I am truly displeased with this experience and I tried calling your "Customer Service" several times the following day to submit this grievance but just as during this experience, I was unable to speak with any of your agents... I am in a profession that is compelled to be diligent in customer service in order to perpetuate the further continuance of repeat & referral business so this was an appalling experience for me as this kind of "ball dropping" would be totally unacceptable..! There is nothing that I feel needs improvement. I would like to say that this is our local U-Haul and we are in every week or so to refill propane tanks. This location has the best customer service and this rental experience was excellent from the start to end. I would like to thank Antonio for the rate and mention that we really like the atmosphere and interactions between employees. It felt like a really good environment and was nice to witness. When we returned I saw multiple empty turkey boxes next to the trash can. All of these things and our multiple interactions with the employees at this location are excellent examples of customer service and happy employees. We would recommend this location without hesitation. Thank you all for making this the best moving experience and for always providing friendly and excellent customer service each week. one day I was rent truck and I used around 5~6 hours. when I return they charge double.. I think there is one day per 29.95 but I PAY 59.9Min A.
I call in to schedule a storage unit and had it reserved the person had it scheduled and took my credit card. She scheduled it for the first floor and a larger unit. When I got the the facility it was all different the lady at the storage said she did not see the reservation in the system and the lady was very rude. The storage facility does not have a elevator so I have to carry all my items up the stairs. What is up with this? I am happy I got the one month free but it really was a ordeal that I did not want to deal with. What this location could do to improve is to not have the customer service rep on the phone and or texting on a personal call while the customer is standing there waiting. When I tell you that every location should use this locations attention too detail and interaction with customers from the time we walked in the door very pleasant experience so much so if in the future I'm ever in need of any rental this is my go to location no matter how near are far, Gardena is my first thought process and yes I plan on passing the word that this is the go to location, I'm sure there are busy times but the way this staff worked together makes a big difference from check in to check out this here is a dream team location. On Monday, 10/25/21, I submitted a CAF as well as a review of my experience through uhaul.com but have yet to hear anything. The review I sent on 10/25/21: I want to start off by saying Don at the San Diego location was amazing and incredibly helpful. He was the only employee I spoke to that was friendly and actually tried to come up with a solution. I was told my U-box would be delivered this past Saturday, 10/23. By Saturday morning, I hadn't heard anything regarding delivery time so I called the Gardena, CA location where the box was sent. I was told the delivery reservation for Saturday was canceled. Not sure who canceled it or why but it was canceled. I said ok, can I reschedule for today or tomorrow? I was told the soonest delivery date was Monday, 10/25. Ok fine, let's reschedule for Monday. The gentleman I spoke to said he was having issues with the system and he didn't want me to have to wait on hold but that he would continue working on it, resolve the issue, schedule for Monday, and if anything came up and he needed to talk to me again he would call but if I didn't hear from him, that meant everything was set for Monday. I knew I should've asked him to call either way to let me know but I didn't and lo and behold it's Monday morning, I hadn't heard anything, I called the warehouse where the box was supposedly sent, and was put on hold for 35 minutes. I decided to hang up, called back immediately, and was helped right away. That's when I was told that nothing was ever scheduled for today, 10/25. I've been transferred numerous times between the warehouse and the Gardena location. I have been given four different numbers to call. I was told that I needed to say that I'd like to fill out a CAF. When I asked to have a CAF filled out, I was hung up on. I called scheduling back and was told that a new delivery was scheduled for tomorrow 10/26. It was confirmed (confirmation #86956389) and I was told it would be delivered on 10/26 between 2:30 and 5:30. I don't believe anything that I've been told anymore since the answer changes every time and the Gardena location is beyond unhelpful so I called the 1800UHAUL number to double check that it was actually scheduled for Tuesday 10/26. That's when I found out that it was scheduled not for Tuesday 10/26 but for Wednesday 10/27. I called the regional number that I was given ending in 3430 to figure out what is actually going on since I am getting different answers every time I talk to anyone at the warehouse or Gardena. That's when I spoke with Don, the only uhaul employee who has been helpful and seemed to actually care. He said he submitted a CAF and then transferred me to Gardena location to find out if the delivery was tomorrow, 10/26, or Wednesday, 10/27 since he couldn't see on his end, I believe because he said the box hadn't been scanned in yet. The woman who answered was so incredibly rude and told me I just spoke with one of her employees who scheduled it for tomorrow. I explained that I spoke with someone else who said that it showed the delivery date as 10/27, not 10/26, so I was calling to find out which one it was. She rudely informed me that it was scheduled for 10/26 and that I would get a confirmation call tonightâ€¦ But I've already got a confirmation number for delivery tomorrow so why would I get another confirmation call tonight if it was truly already scheduled for tomorrow? No one knows what anyone else is doing. It's so unorganized. This has been the worst moving experience I've ever had. No one seems to have any idea what is going on, the employees are rude and unhelpful. I wish I would've just used PODS instead.Jessica T.

I do have one major complaint. The gas needle before leaving was off and I took photos. Upon returning the gas needle was not working as I put gas in the truck. The needle never moved from 1/4 tank. I ended up putting $50 worth of gas that I was not refunded a portion. I drove 40 miles and paid $35 for those miles. Your return the truck with gas policy is a gotcha loophole that I am not liking! People can't guess the exact return gauge for gas and you certainly can not with faulty equipment! Happy to use Uhaul, but certainly unhappy on this past visit!!!Jeffrey S.

I reserved a storage locker, but they had already rented it to someone else. When I asked for an alternate either at this location or another in the area I was told there was nothing.
