This truck was completely empty started sputtering not even a mile down the street barely coasted into the gas station. Then I asked why they charged me they said I didn't bring it back at the right fuel level. To start off they said the printer was down could give me the papers said everything was ok it wasn't. And to charge me 153 dollars for fuel that didn't exist. To this day the manager has not got back to me when I went he wasn't there called multiple times, after holding forever to get told he just left. I think I will not refer anyone to uhaul very unprofessional.Francisco S.

This location needs to improve by checking in equipment the day it is returned. I had my best friend return a utility dolly for me on September 1, 2022. I rented for only one day, on August 31, 2022. I even verified with a team member over the phone on it's return on the same day and they confirmed it was received. However, I get a call today on September 10, 2022, asking if I returned the equipment. This very disappointing that employees are not doing there jobs properly and throughly. The truck was dirty. There were any in there and dirty napkins. I asked if there was another truck and I was told no that was the only 1 way truck there was. He then wiped it down with something but the ants were still there. I had to spray the truck myself and the day I drove it there were still ants crawling on me.Azure A.

Maybe change managers. I and 5 other customers waited 30 minutes for service. One employee was on lunch. I guess the other was the vehicle person and did not deal with the register or office. The office area was a ghost town. The computer left on, an iPhone left on the counter. If we were dishonest people, we could have robbed them blind. Then when I called the manager who had left 40 minutes before I got there was more unpleasant and irate to speak with and in no way tried to rectify the problem. When I said is there some discount for poor customer service, he said no and was more offended than I, a paying customer, who had already waited over 30 minutes. Don at Gardena Uhaul was excellent in helping me coordinate around my movers. I was in another state so the move took a lot of time to arrange and Don made it less stressful. He went above and beyond to help me. On the day of my move, Kevin also provided excellent service and coordinated with Don to assist me. Huge thank you to both Don and Kevin for excellent service! Worst place to go to rent a uhaul. I have rented uhaul for years and never had an issue with other locations. I had reserved a certain vehicle and when i got there, they tried giving me something different because the one i reserved was not available. So i had to pay more money for a size bigger. The truck was completely dirty, i had to stop by and clean all the windows because they were really dirty to the point that it was unsafe. I returned the vehicle with 5 hours and they charged me for another day claiming i was late. They had given me a 4 hour rental with out my knowledge and charged me twice because i returned within 5 hours!! Total fraud. When i tried talking to front desk, they even admitted its a clitch in the system because minimum rental is 6 hours but still refused to refund me the extra charges and gave me a 800 number saying to call the number and to move out the way so they can help the next person. The representative, LaNiyah Neal was rude and unprofessional. As she was supposed to assist me, she felt the need to ask her co-worker about male/female relationships by explaining her situation. I had to ask her to please refrain until to leave and retrieve the assigned van. Also, I emailed the manager, Donnis Broussard to complaint that the odometer was not reading correctly. The manager did not reply to me email and they over charged me. I will be contacting the state department who regulates your company since your manager decided not to contact me.kim G.

Employees could careless about trying to take care of you. Long line for people checking in to get trucks and one employee decided it was a good time to count her cash drawer, 12 minutes counting charge then decides it was time to get back to checking people inâ€¦ 40 minutes in line. Never saw anyone pay for anything with cashâ€¦ also not fair that I got the truck at 10:40 but my reservation was for 10am. I was there at 10am but didn't have a truck until 10:40. But I still had to have it back by 10am on return day. Also the truck was almost dead empty, 26 miles until empty it said when I got in. Went straight to the gas station before being able to do absolutely anything elseâ€¦ And then there's return day: Go to drop off no one outside? Guy inside says wait outside, 15 minutes later go back inside and guy says same thingâ€¦ 10 minutes later I go in and drop keys on desk with guy and said 25 minutes no one outside here's your keys, byeâ€¦ Always use uhaul when I need a box truck but never going to this location again, I'll happily drive farther to not deal with that nonsense againâ€¦Brad M.

I was told the facility had an elevator and it didn't. And the assigned space was in the attic. So we had to go rent a space at Public Storage, whose rates were a LOT less for a better space and they do have elevators, as well as flat bed carts and Dollie's. I will NEVER rent a storage space from U-Haul again after this fiasco! By the way, the staff at the Gardena facility was snotty with me on the phone and when my son got there he realized this was the same facility that he had trouble with before and sent a complaint to corporate about years ago. The complaint is not with the facility that provided the Storage Unit... My complaint is with the U-HAUL scheduling & reservation system... It all was an "inconvenient mess"..! I had to call several times... The pick up facility for the truck rental was un-able to be contacted due to a disconnected phone number... I called the day before my pick up to affirm my reservation and re-assess my contractual agreement... I spoke to several agents in the "Transportation Center" several times the morning of the pick up and got another disconnected number... My CC was charged $30 more than what I was quoted over the phone by the reservation agent despite a very intentionally adamant conversation with the agent regarding that specific issue (i.e. Amount due at pick up). The person who did the contract at the facility for the pick up (a young lady) never asked for my signature and just did everything for my pick up of the truck on her phone... And, upon arrival to the storage facility the unit that I was quoted was not available when I got to the storage facility so I had to accept a different unit (a more expensive one). Throughout this entire experience I was making several phone calls to the "Transportation Center" and then the "Customer Service Center" and practically every time these calls were put on long "wait-time holds" and when finally connected to a live person the calls were disconnected..! This entire experience should be easily documented & confirmed as it is noted in all of these calls that you (i.e. U-HAUL) record these phone calls... I am truly displeased with this experience and I tried calling your "Customer Service" several times the following day to submit this grievance but just as during this experience, I was unable to speak with any of your agents... I am in a profession that is compelled to be diligent in customer service in order to perpetuate the further continuance of repeat & referral business so this was an appalling experience for me as this kind of "ball dropping" would be totally unacceptable..! I call in to schedule a storage unit and had it reserved the person had it scheduled and took my credit card. She scheduled it for the first floor and a larger unit. When I got the the facility it was all different the lady at the storage said she did not see the reservation in the system and the lady was very rude. The storage facility does not have a elevator so I have to carry all my items up the stairs. What is up with this? I am happy I got the one month free but it really was a ordeal that I did not want to deal with. I had a reservation for a climate control storage unit of a specific size and bottom floor. When I arrived they did not have that unit and gave me one much smaller, not climate controlled and second floor. The second floor access is a staircase!!! What type of storage facility has stairs to haul all storage items up and down from…most ridiculous thing ever!! The size of the unit turned out to be too small, a bigger unit was available however, the owner, Donnis, wasn't willing to swap out units. He wanted me to rent the other unit out as well. I don't need 2 units. He then proceeded to walk away and just left his staff member standing there not knowing what to do, so then he walks away. He was more concerned with counting his boxes and seeing how many pallets they had to restock. Just left us standing at the counter. The sad part about this is that my husband is disabled and was there with me. He uses a wheelchair and a cane to get around. He is unable to help me in moving. And financially we can't afford movers. So I was doing this alone. There was NO compassion from this person at ALL. I will NEVER rent a storage there again. I only had the unit for a day or two and left. Didn't even use it really. It also had a hole in the door. So people could see what your storing. I had to keep the Uhaul truck rental again and found a storage at different storage company. First, I wish the individual storage spaces be lighted. Storage spaces do not have lights inside and it is Very difficult to find things or move around inside the storage spaces. There should be an automatic lighting installed inside of each storage space that turns on and off by itself. Every time I, I visit my storage, I hated to be inside the dark space. The ceiling is also low, so I have to stoop around the whole time I'm in there. I am a woman of average height, by the way. Second, I wish the U-Haul employees are better trained. Many of them I have dealt with so far have Very incompetent work skills. On Sunday, 03/14/2021, a female agent who was helping me on the phone was very incompetent. And on Monday, 04/15/2021 a male agent at the Gardena, CA location office was also not trained properly. The female agent did not know how to properly cancel my contract with U-Haul. I had to call twice to make sure my cancellation was processed correctly. On the second phone call, an agent named Joseph verified that my cancellation did not take place with the previous female agent. Joseph helped me to complete the cancellation in the system. The first female agent was NOT professional: Not only she did not do the job correctly, her manner on the phone was very rude, telling me to take the speaker-phone mode off so that she can hear me. I was driving , so I had to use the speaker phone. Anyway, I pulled over and spoke with her without using the speaker phone. Also, she called me "Honey". Somehow her calling me honey did not feel appropriate to me. I wish she called me by my name, and not "Honey". She was also fumbling on the phone a lot while talking to me on the phone. At the end of a rather hasty "help" provided by her, i tried to ask her name. Well, She hung up right away! That's when I got suspicious wherher my request was performed correctly. I got this hunch that she might not have done the cancellation job correct. I immediately called back. Sure enough, the second agent named Joseph confirmed that my storage contract termination did not take effect at all. Nothing was done for it, he said. Joseph was very professional though. He apologized for the first female agent's mistake. What a waste of my time. Also when I try to return the key at the Gardena location, the agent made a mistake in the return-key process. I had to ask his coworker sitting next to him at the counter to double-check. Surely, the key was not returned in the system. If a coworker had to help out in order to make sure a simple key-return was done correctly in the system, then I am not sure whether U-Haul employees are trained properly. My experience with U-Haul with the phone agents and the local office agents have been very unsatisfactory. I would NOT hesitate to recommend some other storage businesses to others.
