Truck and requested items were available and ready when we arrived. Truck was clean and in good condition. Staff was professional and efficient in giving directions and getting us on the road. Before leaving, they asked us to verify start mileage and look over truck. When we saw mileage was off, we returned to attendant who corrected it in the system which was recognized at truck return. Our order was not in on the day scheduled - although scheduled weeks in advance. On our second trip to the store a week later, the part was in, but the technician was an hour late for installation. After waiting an hour, he seemed to need to consult the instructions several times as though he didn't know how to do the wiring. The employees were kind, but I wasted a trip and an extra hour. I scheduled early hoping to not miss work, but ended up being late to work anyway because of the late technician.Marcie P.

Ebony was the last employee I dealt with during my UHaul experience. What a wonderful way to end my move! She was friendly, helpful, and attentive. She was busy working when I pulled into the return lot. She stopped and immediately showed me where to park, was very happy to see me, asked how everything worked and if I had any concerns. After a long, arduous, 4 day move from CT to Florida, she was my ray of sunshine during my UHaul experience! As a result of an issue picking up our truck the night before using the mobile pickup service, my partner and I had to visit the location during their Sunday business hours to pick up our rental. Ebony was very professional and competent and took care of us in a friendly manner. We were the first ones there when they opened at 9, and she was ready to help us out with a positive attitude. When renting a trailer, please inform your customers about all the different types of equipment they will need. Nowhere did I see any warning or notification on your website that I would need to buy a wiring harness in addition to the hitch and ball. The entire drop off process was a debacle. First we went to the location the place we rented from to us to go to drop off. They told us the were a gas station and would only accept returns if we rented from them. We went to a second location that the gas station told us to go to and the wouldn't take it as they were full. We went to a third location that the second location told us to go and they wouldn't take it either as they were full. We went to a fourth location we found on the internet and they were closed. My only problem with this location is that they are so busy that they cannot check in the truck the day you brought it in. We brought the rental back on Saturday around 2 and I had to contact Uhaul online to ask what to do Sunday night around 9:30 when we realized they had not sent a receipt for the truck yet. We received a receipt on Monday around 10:30 that stated we turned in the truck Sunday at 9. They just need a better system for trucks being turned in.Lawrence W.

This is not where I was supposed to drop off the truck. The original location he'd the driveway blocked so no one could get in. I was told I had to take the truck to Ocala to drop it off. The person I spoke too was not helpful. When I called the 800 number I was on hold for a long line, the drop off location would not answer. I am not sure why U-Haul didn't notify me I needed to go to a different location. The location I had to drop the truck off at was closer than the on my contract, making me drive out of my way.Charles J.

They recommend driving an additional hour out of my way to Ocala, Florida to turn in the 26 foot truck. When you have a contract with a customer at a stated drop off. You honor your contract. You don't change the drop off location to two hours away, and then I have to call to argue that I don't work for you, and shouldn't have to use my gas to drop off a location convent to you. Not good!Erik E.
Try to hire more staff on busy move in weeks to shuttle to trucks, unlock units, check trucks in and show people where to park upon equipment return, etc. It seemed like only 2 employees were working. They did a great job keeping calm and dealing with every customer as an individual. Special kudos to Anthony and Alex. Upon further investigation, everyone that tried to use them had a terrible experience. The location blocked off the entrance. Did not answer or return calls. It took me almost two hours to get someone from customer service formally tell me the location wad at capacity and find me another drop off location. The manager at 802 main in Gainesville performed poorly and demonstrated poor customer service. The staff at 6th st, where i ended up, we're amazing despite being overwhelmed themselves.HOWARD G.

When I arrived to return my moving van the staff informed me they could not accept any additional drop offs. The staff couldn't direct me to another location for drop off nor was I alerted to this issue prior to drop off by UHaul. Luckily the staff at this location were willing to accommodate my urgent need to return the vehicle and they made space to accept my return. In the end the staff were helpful and I place most of the blame on UHaul not informing me ahead of time that I needed to find a new return location.Scott H.

We reserved a cargo van at another location and were called on our trip up to Gainesville from South Florida that it wasn't available and our only choice was a 20' truck and we had to go to another location. We took it because it was too late to look elsewhere. We had to wait an hour on Monday morning to return it. The parking lot was complete chaos, over loaded with vehicles. They were understaffed and the one guy working outside was unfriendly and offered no help. You couldn't even park your car , my wife had to pick me up from the highway.NATHAN T.
Drop off day at university of Florida happens every year so this location has every reason to be more prepared. Dozens of customers dropping off at the same time with only two personnel on duty who were overwhelmed and made the panicked decision to lock the door (with customers inside) in order to keep others from coming inside. We had to literally pull the truck up to the the side of the road rather than pull in because the staff had decided to leave a large truck in the driveway blocking anyone else from coming in. In one word... chaos. I would suggest, if possible, organizing this will next year differently.Matthew C.

The return was very challenging and service was very poor. I first tried to return at your location at Univ. of Florida. After standing in line for 30 minutes was informed I could not return the truck at this location as the lot was full. The personnel at this location was so rude I cannot describe without getting upset how I was treated. Every employees at this location should be fired as they were rude beyond anything I have ever experienced. Following a 45 minute wait, I was told to go to the location on NW 6th street. That was worse trying to return the truck there as the lot was also full and the location was way understaffed. It took 1.5 hrs to do the return at this location. Returns were so backed up that trucks had to park on the street. When I tried to find someone to help direct me where to park the lot attendant just walked away and disappeared. There was only one other person handling all the returns and handling new rentals. I was a complete cluster. I will never ever use U-Haul to rent a moving truck again after this experience.Allen G.

Move in day at Univerity of Florida which You must have known. Only two people working. We waited over an hour for a truck. Had movers booked through uhaul on the clock. First two trucks rented were blocked in so had to get a third truck assigned. Upon return there was no room to get truck on to lot. Jason, regional manager, finally showed up at 5PM after these two employees had been dealing with chaos all day. He was completely unhelpful and rude. Waited 30 minutes to get truck on to lot and then another 30 minutes to return truck. Could not do online return because contract was never updated due to having to change trucks twice. I want to be clear this was not Ebony's fault. She was incredible despite being yelled at by many people for understaffing which was not her fault. She should be commended for how she dealt with a disastrous situation. Unless there are no other options I will never utilize uhaul again but I guess that's what you count on, there are not a lot of other options.Christie S.

However, the facility also has a host of problems such as frequent random alarms going off at nearly all times, the elevator frequently ceasing to operate (including yesterday where an “NI” message kept appearing and the doors would not close), a total dead zone in the building, and very limited access hours. When I 1st rented everyone was friendly, as I was moving out on July 29th, I asked an employee if I could use the dumpster, he said yes and to let them know inside, before I could even get inside a manager came out yelling at me for using the dumpster. Tried explaining to him what the other employee had said, he kept yelling, then walked away slamming the dumpster doors. Upon putting my last item on my trailer,another male employee approached me, scolding me like a child, once again I was defending my actions and he stated he didn't want to hear it and walked away. This facility is HUGE, units are easy to access, everything looked clean, and it was super helpful to have so many carts available to assist with moving our stuff from the moving truck to the unit. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only concern I had was with Uhauls systems -- #1 Apparently they allow customers to triple book the same unit (fortunately for us we were the first to get there and were able to get the unit we booked), and #2 The systems in the facility appear to be very slow, outdated, and not user-friendly. This could be an issue if lines were long. We only had 1 person in front of us and it took about 25 minutes for him to return all of his unused boxes for a refund.Kat R. | First Impressions

When moving in we had a hiccup with having something too tall to make it in the unit. TJ helped me out by find us a larger unit. Nice facility and great staff but was disappointed with two things. Was not pleased to learn that the 10’ x 10’ unit I had preordered was advertised as such but upon opening the unit, it was actually two smaller units with a wall in between—not ideal for large furniture pieces. Was able to switch the two small units to one large one but, after measuring the new unit, the interior was about a foot less than 10’ x 10,’ which is what I’m being charged for every month. Had to move additional belongings into a family member’s house because the space was tighter than advertised. The fact that what’s advertised isn’t what’s sold is very frustrating for both customers and staff who are trying their best to help. Please update marketing materials to accuracy and, when building future facilities, do not sell two split units as “one large unit.” Not sure if I will rent a storage unit from UHAUL again unless I get exactly what I’m paying for. I think his name was Alex but he was a great worker, not only did he handle my transaction well but I saw him handle a very stressed couple in front of me. Everything went great signing up online, got a free lock. I was really pleased to see how clean and well lit the facility is. The free use of the moving carts is an add bonus. The only issue is my passcode doesn't work, so every time I opened my unit it sets off an alarm which turns off after about one second. I asked someone and he said he thought the alarm system is down. But that is something they should tell the new guy or post it somewhere. I did stop by the main office and even though it was graduation day which means alot of people renting trucks, everyone working there was helpful and professional.Louis G. | Online Move In

When we checked in the girl that checked us in smelled like a pot factory and my daughter who was waiting with me just looked at me and as we left she also commented about the smell. And another day we went to get some stuff out and her and another employee came from the side of office building and you could smell the pit in the air. I could never get through to anyone on the phone! I would be on hold for 15-20 minutes, then transferred to a central phone line, the person on the line would be nice but not really able to help me. They said they would forward a message to Gainesville unit to call me. Never got a call. This happened multiple times. Got hung up on while on hold a couple times. Unacceptable. I live in Pensacola.
