I had really bad experience this time. The old chinese man who manages car keys seemed a kind of racist. He mimic my English accent and teased me until I got the key. How rude he is!! I wonder if U-haul HR ever had an interview with him. I will tell all my friends and colleagues that never go to U-haul in College Point, NY.

The staff at counter came in at 8 AM which is one hour late from standard schedule. Standard schedule starts from 7 AM. Many customers were angry at counter staff who were late for an hour. However, the staff in pick-up and drop-off station were nice and helpful.

I've been here a few times to rent a vehicle and feel the staff is too inefficient. Vehicles are not very clean. When I got the car this time, when I used wipes to clean the steering wheel, it took 10 wipes to get it clean.

Guy at the counter was frustrated at us for discussing our options. Yet the computer system was super slow processing at times and he didn't hear us complain. Then he balked at me giving him a 3rd phone number he asked for that was required beyond me and a friend with me. “Why are you giving me another one, you don't have two numbers!”. The hell I do, and I showed my 2 phones in front of his face. Then when I returned the van, the guy outside ignored when I said I'm here and ready to return. He went back to listening to music. Then attended to another truck. Ridiculous. If I could have my money back I would ask for it.

The Uhaul scheduling system is horrible. Enough that I would consider finding alternatives the next time I needed a move or the next time someone asked for a recommendation. I had carefully reserved the truck I wanted from the closest location that the uHaul website indicated had availability in the days I wanted. I also reserved a dolly. The night before the move I got a call from uhaul scheduling and a text indicating my pickup location was moved to a location (Flushing) that was 40 minutes in the opposite direction. And, the reservation now did not include a dolly. Any attempt to reach a human to ask questions was impossible. Three times I waited for more than 15 minutes on hold to the local site only to have the call clearly answered and hung up. Picked up the truck in the morning. Truck was fine but there was no dolly which caused our move to be longer and harder. Nothing about this experience indicates that this company cares about customer service. Uhaul needs some real competitors to help them learn to care again.

Check in is slow unlike other locations. It is recommended to have other line to assist customers who can pick up the keys because they went through the process online. The location has only 2 registers that made the customer wait long.

Went to site at 8am to pick up vehicle. About 15 people on line with only 1 person behind the counter. Waited over 35 minutes to retrieve my pre-order 20 ft truck. A/C did not work in truck. Truck ran horribly. Truck stated on gas gauge that it had 53 miles worth of gas in it, when returned after putting in gas it, it was returned with the gas gauge saying it had 58 miles now on it. Service man that took vehicle back stated that I did not put enough gas in it, after explained the above and charged me another $26. Also I ordered Truck, I stated I would use it for 40 miles, and only used it for 30 miles. The worker that recieved Truck back stated that there is no reimbursement on unused mileage. He stated next time you will now to right less mileage. The whole experience was horrible. I have used Uhaul several times in the past, at different locations with no issues. This was a horrible experience at above listed location. I will never use this location again, and would never recommend it to friends or family.

This has been a horrible experience and I will never ever rent from U-Haul again. It took more than 30 mins to be able to retrieve the reserved van. It was a local trip to move some boxes and household item with the total distance of 3 miles. This location charged me $80 for the 3 hours using the van. $27 was charged for 3 miles. They even accused me for damaging the interior of the van. This location runs this scam against mostly Chinese Speaking customers. I am going to warn everyone to stay away from this location.

All personnel were very helpful. I had a hard time with cell phone app, a young man assisted me step by step. When I came back, the process took less than two minutes and another young man explained all charges and showed them to me. The wheel alignment was a little off so it was a bit harder to drive for hours but other then that the whole process very smooth the woman at the front desk that helped she deserves a raise she was so sweet and super helpful she took care of me while helping 3 other customers and we all felt accommodated.

It would help if there was an actual UHaul team member available to inspect the vehicle with you. The manager and the other team member inside the location were nice, but trying to get me to scan QR codes so that I could fill out forms online was not efficient. It took me over an hour to check in and inspect the vehicle fully before leaving the premises. When I returned the equipment, the team member instructed me to go inside. I wasted time waiting on line inside only to realize that he could have checked my mileage, the gas tank level and logged in my equipment return outside. The team at this location could be more helpful rather than expecting customers to figure out how the check-in and return processes work on their own.

We waited about 45 minutes to checkin and get the car. The cashier was extremely friendly. There was dirt in the back of the uhaul and had to clean it out before putting our things in. Instructions for self pick up are confusing and returning the vehicle takes quite some time. Everything worked fine once we got it but was just such a hassle picking up and dropping off. Not an easy process.

Worst experience I've ever had in my entire life. I lost like an hour there to pick up a motorcycle trailer. At the front desk the girl talking with someone else by FaceTime instead of attending the customers. Second the guy that was in charge of giving me the trailer was an asshole. And after I finished my trip I saw that the hitch ball that he installed was about to fall off!! God Is great for not Letting it fall in the highway with my motorcycle in it. I'd never rent from uhaul again.

Have vehicles that were reserved available on site. I made reservations 1 month prior on the phone and for whatever reason, none of it was in the system, and I was informed the night before that the trailer I made reservations for were no longer in at the site I made reservations to pick it up from. Which I had to drive 30-40 minutes of out of my way to get to another site to get it. On top of that, all the items I reserved to have, was not available at the site for me to use. What is the point of making reservations if it's not guaranteed to be available? Improve the uhaul app so when you input estimated milage that it actually updates it rather than possibly charge that amount. Or even have a note that says it changes according to actual mileage driven. Customer service needs to give accurate information. I was told I had to come back to the site to close off my account for storage, but was later informed in person that I could have done it online thru the app. Driving there and waiting in line was a complete waste of my time and gas. The storage was also dirty and infested with cockroaches and mice.

The website advertised 24 hour access moving from out of state and living temporarily in a hotel it worked best for me as i have used that feature for other out of state moves in the past usually for an additional small fee. when i arrived with a fully loaded u haul truck the front desk attendant stated that it was for "commercial guest only" businesses etc. I stated that that was clearly stated on the website or on the signage that was next to the desk. She stated that's just how it is. Having to catch a flight back i was put in a position of having no choice but to complete the move in. When i was moving out i asked for 24 hour access again because i am again completing this alone and when i called the gentleman i spoke to said that they stopped offering that service a while ago and extended the normal access hours. I advised him that i am requesting this as a last resort and he reiterated that the service is completely unavailable to everyone. I advised him of again the website and the posted signage in the facility and they stated that "we just didn't change it yet" and reiterated the hours are from 5am to 10pm implying that that should be more than enough time. I think its unfair for someone who does not know my life situation or responsibilities to decide that their hours should not be a problem for me. i work nights and have people to take care of during the day. i shouldn't have to explain that to someone to get the services as advertised when that was the reason i chose that storage facility

While this could have been a review that would have been more average, I had a great experience with U-Haul providing some incredible customer service. I had rented a truck from one U-Haul location and drove it to another U-Haul location across states. The location I brought the U-Haul too was a storage facility where I had rented a storage unit. The elevator at this location was broken and it required me to use the back stairs to go up 3 flights of stairs with all my livelihood into this storage unit. The staff there was extremely friendly and accommodating because of this and were able to compensate me graciously for this experience and their apology came from a place of true empathy for a customer. The staff at the 25 Jefferson Street location in Stamford, CT that were working yesterday deserve some recognition for this. At a time like this during the pandemic, it is acts like this that make a company, that make customer service, that make people's days and they remember these moments. Thank you UHaul, and please make sure to recognize the staff that day who helped me, they deserve it. I will continue to be a long term Uhaul customer because of acts like this and the payoff on the bottom line will be well worth it for the compensation that was provided out of the kindness of their hearts. ¡Gracias!

I very much appreciated the treatment/customer service from the staff and owner of the facility whom I interacted with several times. 1st I never asked for climate control room. 2nd whole floor is climate controlled. Mind you, you still charged me for that separately, which is unfair. 3rd when I booked online not only storage room, everything even trailer, was totally different prices when I came to the store to get finalized.. This is BS, I would never ever recommend to NO one's...

Management is very nice, Andre saw the line getting longer and started taking each customer off and was very patient and efficient with them. He was working till very late and I passed by him a few times as I was loading my unit. True team player and should be in a higher role than just one store management especially for almost 18 years.

Andre was great the storage room not great it was dark , even smaller than the one displayed, dirty, smelled like mildew, the young Asian guy was nice to me until I declined the storage room then he was rude and not helpful plus he did not know the floor to go to then I told him it's one floor below and the sad part was there wasn't enough staff and the manager was the reason why I was interested at first because of his knowledge, understanding, patience, excellent customer service It's just the store needs a make over and the storage facility or put Andre into a new store in a higher traffic location he is an asset to any company especially U-haul. He is the reason why there's any business his personality is excellent and service is A1!!!!! Thank you Andre

The manager Andre was excellent he deserves to be in a flagship location to be honest with a full great staff(team) to compliment his great customer service skills, mannerism, professionalism, knowledge, and he's patient as well as great with employees in his establishment as well as other stores. He needs a better store and more employees plus a raise!!!!! He's a great access to the company he belongs in a better location or the storage store needs a make over to compliment the great service Andre provides please give him acknowledgement monetary wise as well as more staff and a store make over there is plenty of potential and he is one of the greatest managers he does a lot of work and I will send people to apply for jobs at that location that have great sales and customer assistance Andre deserves the best! I have been a uhaul customer fir many years, this facility was horrible. Our belongings were destroyed by water damage, mold and mildew destroyed our storage boxes and possessions. It was disgraceful!! The precious valuables were things treasured from years, decades ago and no value could be put on them. We will never get those pictures, diplomas and various other treasures our family saved. Shame on uhaul and their flushing facility and employees. I will never use or recommend you again!

I disappointed to rented U-Haul Van. The day befor I pickup, I came to U-Haul saturday to make reservations that I needed the 15'N Truck Van, same as I had rented before, I sad. But that U-Haul employer he dont answered, he just printed the papers he needed and he give me the copy. Than he serving athers customers. On the ways I go home I repeat to read the paper he gives to me that I realized that I got big citing from that guys, he dont give me the 15'N truck Van as I ask hem, he just put van in the paper. The nex days when I came to pickup the car, I asking again the Van'15 N, but he answered 'you get what in the paper printed.!!* This is actually reason I can't returned the van as shedulled...! Good luck U-Haul.....!!!**

I've rented storage units in many places. Uhaul was the only one who don't pro-rate. I had to pay a whole months rent and only stood for 6 days. I would never deal with Uhaul again for this reason
